Yeah they had some great kits. Even earlier, I built a 1-transistor radio kit on a little phenolic breadboard. I remember, vaguely, I also had a Knight electronics lab where you could build multiple temporary projects using either transistors or a dual triode tube that ran on 12V B+. Thanks for commenting.

My very first kit I built was a Knight Kit Star Roamer when I was 16, or in 1966. I have one that's on my list to bring back to life.
