I’m just really impressed/happy Sonic Team has been doing a lot of great Marketing for Sonic X Shadow Generations. Each time we get a new trailer I just keep wishing it would be the release day of the game

Seeing Shadows lore be expanded upon will be amazing to see unfold in Shadow Gens. So much of Shadows history is very obscure only known by the hardcore of hardcore Sonic fans. I can’t wait to see all the aspects of Shadows history be shown off in the game. They made Shadow so damn cool again man.
In my opinion, a character's life in a story has more potential than the impact of their sacrifice. I understand the fear of losing the initial contribution to the story, as it may seem like it loses its meaning. However, those emotions don't just disappear because the situation changed; the weight of that moment still exists. For me, the added storytelling potential more than makes up for the one-time emotional moment. Plus, I simply enjoy seeing characters happy.
As someone who’s never played Sonic Generations before and only ever saw footage of it online This package is gonna be so cool and fun! This game is the perfect entry point to get someone into Sonic U learn about the characters, lore, stages, music etc The little Timmy after watching movie 3 then playing this will be having the time of their life lol
In Dark beginnings episode 2, rouge asked shadow to come to sonic birthday party. This means it has to be during generations or Sonic is having another birthday which I don’t think is the case.
I really just hope this doesn’t turn into Shadow losing his powers because Black Doom is dead or something dumb like that. And I think the story would be more interesting if they go with a Future Shadow angle. Maybe give him some reflection on Forces events.

Like for a lot of my life before I started really digging into Sonic, I only knew Shadow as “the black Sonic who stops time”, the black doom powers would really set him apart a lot more the same way Silver’s psychic powers do
I think him losing the powers would be logical, as they seem to be enhanced by Black Doom's presence. Also, I think what sets him apart from Sonic is that he uses what's available, Chaos energy, guns, vehicles, now Doom Powers. I hope they continue with this route of Shadow just borrowing sh*t as he's the only one who does that on purpose in the franchise. Heck, I wouldn't mind him being able to pick weapons from enemies again, that alien sword looks pretty nice.

the fact that this game isn't full price is INSANE. This game looks like a full priced game. I love Frontiers but the quality of Shadow Generations looks to be higher, maybe not a higher budget because Frontiers had a ton of time and new resources and assets put into it while Shadow Generations is mostly reusing assets. AND we get a "remaster" of Sonic Generations too, like you can't get a better package deal than this.
Love Frontiers with all my heart but so much of it feels like a demo for the ideas Sonic Team want to explore in the future, it was a VERY necessary step in order to get to Shadow Generations that’s seemingly refined a lot Frontiers established
I think Sonic deserves a good reputation like any other AAA game. HOWEVER, I hope they continue with this path as today's full price is a joke and it would be great if Sonic becomes a very accessible franchise!

Yeah, totally agree with two of your theories. The new alien powers probably aren't going to be constant thing. They'll probably be either sealed and just unleashed when all hell's breaking loose or he loses them completely once Black Doom is defeated as a way of showing he's finally got the past put behind him. Also, agree Maria might not be brought back but they'll have a moment where Shadow can finally get some closure with her. HOWEVER, after over 30 years since the series started, Eggman finally has a daughter (which is kinda a huge change) so who knows what surprises we might get....
i could be wrong but i kinda have a theory that (SPOILERS) westopolis is the final level, hence why black doom is there and says "the promised time is almost here" or whatever, ur chasing him and he messes with the surroundings and makes you go thru all the previous stages, and i think itd be pretty sick to have the first level of shadows own game be the final level of the game that celebrates his history lol
My theory was Westopolis as the final stage but it transitions into the Black comet part way through, but that idea would be sick. I love the idea of the final stage being the first and/or last stage from Shadow’s game.

It's so great to hear that the Doom Wings act similar to Super Sonic where you get them after having 50 rings instead of them just being for specific locations only, that was a worry I initially had when we got more gameplay with the wings
so that doom cocoon is heavily inspired by the ophanim, and old testament entity, later described as an angel, made of orbiting multi-eyed rings. one of the abilities that the ophanim possess is memory manipulation, which could have some very interesting implications for the story.
We've seen several of those corrupted stages, I wonder if they will be the equivalent of cyberspace levels in this game. Some short stages you can find around.
For chaos island they should have a sage boss fight, shadow already beats up tails all the time so he’s clearly fine with beating up children so sage should be good to fight

Something I've not seen pointed out by anyone, at 1:17 in your video, I swear Maria's outfit is black, not blue, and it can't just be lighting given how everything else looks. Maybe it's just some sort of stylistic thing like "Oh her outfit goes black and she poofs away and everything goes all Black Doom trippy because he's all lol trauma flashback" but I'd have expected more weird fandom theories going on from that.
Time eater fucking with time is one thing but we never really defeated the starfish form of Black Doom and technically the only part of Black Doom that we see as a real thing, not a hologram of some sort, is the small starfish alien.

Okay but what if you fight the Death Egg Robot at Chaos Island? Assuming you fight Infinite in Sunset Heights and since it doesn't make much sense for Shadow to fight a Titan in Chaos Island at that point in time, we could see how a Death Egg Robot got there and got destroyed.
I’d love the upcoming Movie dlc, gives me hope for future dlcs. This would be a chance to give boom shadow and possibly Sonic Boom as a whole a chance to see light again. Also Lancelot shadow with a level from black knight would go hard!!!!!
i'm still on the belief that the challenge levels are a) either full radical highway or b) like in gens cuz from all the footage we've seen radical highway has multiple variants/ost remixes and in the story trailer we see the bridge over white space where all the other levels seem to be purely act 1. Also radical highway is the only level where we see black doom alter everything around shadow where in kingdom valley act 1 there's nothing, so i believe that that level has a unique purpose
There's also a Chaos Control light rail thingy in the movie level, right before the underpass with 2 springs. It's at least SOMETHING with some player agency, I think the level will be pretty cool
It could be that this won't be the happiest ending for Shadow. After all, Forces still needs to happen after this... Saving Maria would be pretty out of left field IMO, and Shadow would have to find some way to manage her illness while keeping her hidden away from everyone including Eggman who mentions her death in Frontiers.
The only thing I want to know is that if the Sonic movie 3 level will be purchasable separate if someone who got the standard edition of Sonic X Shadow Generations, but wanted to get the level at a later date. Also, in the collectors edition, there’s a physical PS4 version in it and with the marketing of this game, there’s no mentions of a physical PS4 version of Sonic X Shadow Generations. I hope that you get the PS4 version separate in stores and online.
I'm thinking the Chaos Island fight could just be an Eggman fight, considering that's the island Eggman had the most activity in before he got trapped. I can't really see a Titan fight happening for Shadow. I'm REALLY hoping Infinite is a rival fight though.
I love this, but honestly what I wonder since they said the game is a bit smaller then base gens could there possibly be 9 levels and 6 bosses, since base gens did 9 levels 3 bosses from pass games, 3 rival battles.

Been keeping up with the remixes of stage themes. Holy cow. Especially the performance during TGS. I absolutely loved Generations OST. But SXSG delivers even more wicked vibes. I'm curious if Julien-K might be remixing a new rendition of some their songs, or maybe something new. Plus the level design, atmosphere, environments, and the stages themselves raise the bar, on what Sonic Team is capable of. And the bosses. I have two thoughts: Firstly, I think this game is gonna take more of a Bowser's Fury direction than people might realize. I think in the Story Trailer, at 1:09 when you see the robots coming out of the top of the big Black Doom sphere, this will be a recurring thing in the White Space. Maybe this will occasionally happen, at which point you have to collect a bunch of rings so that you can grow your wings and fly over to the big Black Doom sphere with tentacles (0:59 in the Story Trailer) and stop Black Doom from... something, perhaps in several small boss fights (a la the Fury Bowser). Second, I don't think I actually buy into the Sonic rival fight theory quite yet. Considering the Ark is the first level in the game, I wouldn't be surprised if that level leads into that Sonic vs Shadow scene as a cutscene, ending in him losing and then leading into the scene at 0:19 of the Summer Game Fest trailer, then throwing Shadow into his White Space, and starting off his game.

I’d love the upcoming Movie dlc, gives me hope for future dlcs. This would be a chance to give boom shadow and possibly Sonic Boom as a whole a chance to see light again. Also Lancelot shadow with a level from black knight would go hard!!!!!
i'm still on the belief that the challenge levels are a) either full radical highway or b) like in gens cuz from all the footage we've seen radical highway has multiple variants/ost remixes and in the story trailer we see the bridge over white space where all the other levels seem to be purely act 1. Also radical highway is the only level where we see black doom alter everything around shadow where in kingdom valley act 1 there's nothing, so i believe that that level has a unique purpose

There's also a Chaos Control light rail thingy in the movie level, right before the underpass with 2 springs. It's at least SOMETHING with some player agency, I think the level will be pretty cool

Saving Maria would be pretty out of left field IMO, and Shadow would have to find some way to manage her illness while keeping her hidden away from everyone including Eggman who mentions her death in Frontiers.

The only thing I want to know is that if the Sonic movie 3 level will be purchasable separate if someone who got the standard edition of Sonic X Shadow Generations, but wanted to get the level at a later date. Also, in the collectors edition, there’s a physical PS4 version in it and with the marketing of this game, there’s no mentions of a physical PS4 version of Sonic X Shadow Generations. I hope that you get the PS4 version separate in stores and online.
I'm thinking the Chaos Island fight could just be an Eggman fight, considering that's the island Eggman had the most activity in before he got trapped. I can't really see a Titan fight happening for Shadow. I'm REALLY hoping Infinite is a rival fight though.

Been keeping up with the remixes of stage themes. Holy cow. Especially the performance during TGS. I absolutely loved Generations OST. But SXSG delivers even more wicked vibes.
I'm curious if Julien-K might be remixing a new rendition of some their songs, or maybe something new.
Plus the level design, atmosphere, environments, and the stages themselves raise the bar, on what Sonic Team is capable of. And the bosses. So good

I have two thoughts:
Firstly, I think this game is gonna take more of a Bowser's Fury direction than people might realize. I think in the Story Trailer, at 1:09 when you see the robots coming out of the top of the big Black Doom sphere, this will be a recurring thing in the White Space. Maybe this will occasionally happen, at which point you have to collect a bunch of rings so that you can grow your wings and fly over to the big Black Doom sphere with tentacles (0:59 in the Story Trailer) and stop Black Doom from... something, perhaps in several small boss fights (a la the Fury Bowser).
Second, I don't think I actually buy into the Sonic rival fight theory quite yet. Considering the Ark is the first level in the game, I wouldn't be surprised if that level leads into that Sonic vs Shadow scene as a cutscene, ending in him losing and then leading into the scene at 0:19 of the Summer Game Fest trailer, then throwing Shadow into his White Space, and starting off his game.

@@GamesCage I would be so down to have one... but honestly I'm also coping because I'm of the belief Mephiles will likely be a rival fight, and I want the remaining two rival fight "slots" to be Emerl and Infinite SO BADLY and that won't work if Sonic is also one SIDHEKSIVDND (Assuming Shadow Gens will have three rival fights like Sonic Gens does)

1. Imagine Infinite being in the game! Think about it, we got Sonic and Biolizard fight in the Ark from Adventure 2, Radical Highway with a Metal Overlord fight from Heroes, Kingdom Valley with Mephiles fight in Sonic 06. Soooo Sunset Heights being in the game could mean Infinite's return????
Also 2. Imagine if this game's ending will be similar to The Final Horizon update in Frontiers, after Sonic beats the end he's not longer able to transform to Super Sonic 2/Cyber Super Sonic anymore. So after Shadow beats Black Doom, he can't use the powers anymore (story wise, it'll definitely still a mechanic in the game lol)

So after how Sonic Gens ended, I feel like the same concept will be for Shadow and I think the end of this trailer...idk why I feel like, just like Gens ending, we'll be seeing Shadow meeting Maria & Gerald one last time and probably like a "last goodbye"? Infinite is probably going to be a boss in the game, but probably only a boss I'm expecting. You mean Black Doom is playing with us and showing us Maria? Because Black Doom is the one doing that. Not Infinite. In Dark Beginnings, Black Doom is literally playing with shadow and giving him a nightmare by showing maria's and Gerald's death to him.
@@Mustafa-h7s9b Reason I said Infinite because in Sonic Forces, they given us the concept of us "talking to Rouge and Omega" but it was just an "illusion" hence us listening to "Supporting Me" forces version. So if Infinite can make things an illusion during that stage and so, I had that thought he probably is doing that showing Maria and Gerald. Like transitioning into facing him. BUT again, my expectations is low for it. But a Infinite boss fight i can se happening tho.
