You'll need to recover after playing on concrete for a little while, but I will tell you that if you play on concrete, the hardwood feels like clouds and its almost like an advantage that you have on everyone that only plays indoors.

forgetPAT nah, there's no need to recover, keep playing!! Concrete is not that bad, you'll get a few scabs, and if your lucky a broken bone. That's how it works.
AB AB shin splints, stress fractures, joints will be weared out, etc
+AB AB basically hardwood floor gives when you put pressure on it and concrete doesnt so jumping and doing moves like stepbacks can eventually hurt you in the long run if you practice at a pro level everyday like lonzo does..you don't necessarily have to fall and scrape yourself, it could just happen over time cause concretes way harder than indoor
AB AB nah, the truth is, constant play, whether it be on wood or concrete is gonna give you some joint pain. The only true way to recover is to ice, wear pads, or just choose fewer days in the week to practice.

Gio Castro I'm not on a team, but hopefully I make my school team next year, and then play on some sort of team next summer. So I'm only playing on concrete in the hot ahh sun, although today ,luckily the sun wasn't out that much it was still hot though. But I don't care I need a place to practice, and I'm grateful that I live so close to a court, and have a basketball to play with.

Isiah is one of the basketball godfathers of the game. He will talk to you to put your mind in the right place and tells you enough to figure out what you should do. He talks about basketball in his own way not taking any other terms to cloud his ideas.

hey man, at least he have a hoop in the backyard. In my place, courts are limited, most of us dont have hoop at home. There's only a few indoor court not more than my fingers and some gym are pricey per hour. Our only choice is to play outdoor (some doesnt have lights at night) with dusty ball or get good and play indoors. Imagine the limited amount of place we can practice, i always have to go to court early 1 or 2 hrs to be able to practice alone and during the time sun is hot af. When someone injured, you wont see them for months.

I started out with a brown rubbermaid trash can on top of a 88 lime green caprice classic, and the court was gravel. Don't hate, There were some great 5on5 games and 21 played there daily!! no blood, no foul!!
