I've been playing AO for 10 years, I have grinded for a long time, and played hours upon hours, but I would rather restart and have the game run by people that will actually update the player base and have an actual moderation in game so people cant just say slurs all the time. The player base is genuinely so toxic and I never want to interact with anyone in the game or the discord server. I hope Story of Alicia truly does come to fruition, it has given me so much hope for this game that I have loved for so long. Nice seeing someone talk about this also! The whole situation with Alex and the server has been bugging me for months.
i wouldn't count on moderation, tbh. they're just a small team and can do just about that. they have a long way to go - way longer than they think, i'm afraid.
It would make me happier if he just told us that it's going to be a while until servers are back up, instead of telling us "Servers will be back up soon! We finally found the issue!" and giving zero update for a quarter of a year.

@@Eeee-xl4xb Alex uses VK to post officially because FB is banned in Russia, so the FB page is more than likely being run by some of the staff who are able to connect to FB.
i played this game when i was younger maybe around 13 or 14 it was actually really fun i wish they put more into it honestly the og creators could've made so much more money

To be honest, Alex has been a bit… “off” over the years (if anyone can recall, I must apologize but memory is a little stinky as it’s been a long time) This silence does sadly not come as a surprise but it’s still questionable and disappointing. People are D riding him like crazy because he holds all of our accounts and process in his hands and they don’t wanna lose that. It’s tiring to say the very least. (does anyone remember that drama a couple of years ago when bad things he had allegedly done came out about him?) he threatened to quit the game because of the allegations. Lord that situation was a whole mess. I had a friend who had been miss-treated by him and it was awful. He could do something awful and people would NOT care, they did not back then when the allegations came out because they cared more about their accounts than the allegations made by the people who had gotten hurt. I doubt he is so busy that he cannot take 5 minutes to just write “yo the games coming back but I am busy” or “hey, after 10 years I don’t feel like doing this anymore” JUST LET PEOPLE KNOW SO THEY CAN MOVE ON! There doesn’t even need to be an explanation to why you’ll bring it back or not. Yes he brought back the game but be real, without people playing it I doubt he would’ve kept it going for 10 long years. The very least that could be done is give us a heads up… but there is only silence. The mod you mentioned and I think I know who you are speaking of, has also had a questionable behavior over the years, for example in the facebook comments… and I am happy to hear I am not the only one who feels that way. I hope a new team can come back with the game and be transparent with us and communicate to their players. This game has been a major comfort over the years. If it never comes back in any shape or form, I am happy to have gotten the chance to play it and I will continue to greatly miss it. Great video and only thing I’d change about this video is the music as it felt a little too loud!
@@shijutu I did want to include the drama from back then, but ultimately discarded it due to not wanting to dig up the past for fear of bringing back poor memories for the people involved. On that note, during that drama, he also threatened to make the server Russian exclusive, too. Pretty much making us drop the drama for fear of losing our comfort game. How disgusting that was to have him dangle it over our heads like that. People caring more about their game accounts than what he's done really tells a lot about the state of horse girl gamers in the A.O community.

I found it very manipulative even back then. “If you don’t shut it, I will take the game away from you” Did he even ever address the allegations other than threaten us? I think that speaks for itself. But you can’t really criticize him because, again, people care more for their accounts.
There are many things that could be changed in the game to make it better; the most frustrating ones are: 1. Horse breeding - Gold Cards must always give more Carrots as compensation, and the Pregnancy Bonus must always bring you closer to a foal of the chosen coat. 2. Players being blocked by you - does this player annoy you? Block him and he won't be able to write to you or get to the Ranch. Unless he writes you an apology by e-mail, and if not, then a support ticket. 3. Remove kick from the racing room. Weaker players also have the right to reach the finish line. 4. Potential! It's annoying that you breed a horse for Speed and it's born with Chain Master Potential.
About your third point; kicking people out of a room is quite a good option. Of course, if someone opens a room, visibly for everyone who joins that it’s probably someone who can’t play well and then gets kicked the second someone else gets the room it’s quite shitty. But except for that; playing with players who aren’t even able to understand the basics of the game, such as using their items at the right time, not doing bubble holding on the last place and so on aint funny, especially if you play against good players. Yes, everyone starts as a noob, but others shouldn’t suffer because of them. Go to single rooms, learn to race, maybe open some room and call it „level xy“ and kick everyone who’s level is higher. And no, I’m not only talking about having bad players in the same team but also as enemies; I stopped counting how often I got called a cheater or got kicked by bad players because „I wouldn’t play fair“ while they kept kissing the walls without anyone’s interference. And yes, sometimes I do try to help them by explaining stuff; the majority doesn’t (want to?) understand it tho. I really would appreciate if ao would make it possible for people to create rooms to which only certain levels could join. Like for example, instead of calling your room 60+, you could actually select that only people with such a level could join. And away from bad players; if someone keeps being afk during races, won’t even try to help you or simply insults everyone; not being able to kick them would be a pain in the ass. I am fully with you when it comes to your other points tho. Especially the part with the blocking (even though it could be harder since you sort of need to see them and read their messages during races, if they go brb etc) and the „sending a ticket to the support“. It would be nice if the whole „being able to report someone“ wouldn’t involve to have VK and if it would actually be taken serious by them.

there are so many questions i have regarding the mysterious disappearance of alex. if you don't want to continue working on the project anymore, why not just say so? you don't owe anyone a reason even, just say 'the server is offline and it will stay this way, thank you for supporting alicia' and blah-blah-blah and so on. why ghosting everyone and talking through your friend? i can get if it'd have lasted for a couple months - life happens, i know what it's like - but _HALF A YEAR?_ half a year of promises to 'do this next week'? i just don't understand it. why keep everyone on their toes for such a long time?
