Enjoyed and learned from your video as always. Especially appreciated the hockey game, in the background, about 15:35 into the video. LOL. TIGHT LINES ALL
Thanks! I love hockey
@@AnglerX Hockey house on this end as well. Looking forward to the video you posted last evening.
Awesome video buddy!!I have done well there at that exact spot
Massive walleye! Do you choose when to fish at random? Are there weather patterns you look for?
I fish whenever I can get out but I especially like calm days with a falling barometer. Cloudy days tend to better as well.
i know that spot! and that spot is hot for spring walleyes, i also caught multiple species
Is there opportunities for shore fishing there? Or possibly kayak?
@@trentgraupman1915 there is but is a long walk about half a mile
@@OutdoorsWonder from the Minnesota or Wisconsin side, thanks.
@@trentgraupman1915 mn side, pool 4 57100 on Google map by the dam.. there's a public parking then take the trail down to the dam
you recommend liquid willow cat scent or smelly jelly for walleye fishing. Which smelly jelly you use for walleye and crappie.
I recently started using liquid Willowcat and have had good luck so far. Smelly Jelly is also effective, I generally use the baitfish flavor.
Good shit
Thank you!
Great videos makes u feel like your in the boat
Thank you!
What river are you on?
Mississippi
Got love spring walleye
Oh yeah!
R u out of la crosse
Yes. La Crosse area
This was the kind of fishing I wanted to see !!! I stop in Osseo to refuel when I go up north to Ladysmith ! I got so excited with each fish you caught, ESPECIALLY that HUGE PIG, and I wasn't even there ! 😱😲🥰 MORE LIKE THIS PLEASE !
Thank you John! I would love to have more days like this!!!
Nice, congrats on the big girl!
Thanks! It was a fun fish to catch!
Nice! Biggun!
Thank you!
Good brother 🤝🙏👍
Thank you 👍!
Thanks for the great video!
Thank you!
What pool you at
Wow What a lunker! Great catches! Are you fishing pool 8 or 9? I have been running up to Depere each spring over the last few years and have been pretty much striking out each trip. Looking for a new Spring Walleye location to try.

Awesome!! 👍
😁 thank you!
Wow great walleye.
Had yourself a day congrats brother 💪
Everything came together. The size was good on this day.
What is the reason you chose one length rod over another? more current a shorter rod? thanks. Knowledge is the key a little inspiration never hurt.
I think rod selection is mostly personal preference. I use a 6’9” and 7’2” rods for walleye. They both work well and are a nice length for casting jigs and have good length for good hook sets and battling walleyes with their head shakes.
Where u fishing at?
Congrats on the giant walleye! That think had a huge belly.
Thank you Go Midwest Fishing!
Al some fishing Bring on more.
😁
Nice fish!!! I better get to the store and buy some purple paddle tails before their gone LOL.
👍thank you! You can order them online as well.
all quality fish! cant wait to get onto some this week!
Thanks Nate! It was a fun evening on the river!
Can you spend some time in one of your videos talking about how you're using your trolling motor for boat positioning, using spot lock, jog, etc.
Thanks for the suggestion! I’ll try to talk about that in a future video.
Nicely done!
Thank you!
Can’t you not fish where you are till opener? Or at least may?
There is no closed season or areas in this spot.
Great video as always and looking forward to watching all your videos with whatever you are fishing for
Thanks for the continued support Mr Reed!
Let's go lock n dahaaaam that ones big, ill be thr sometime this May or early June hoping to get some walley plus whitebass.
Get em!!!
Nice big eyes
Thank you Devin!
Nice Fish Lance !
Thank you!
I have not connected on one like that this year maybe I moved away from the dam to early we still have very cold water up here in pool 4 great fish and no crowd ! Can’t beat that
Everything kinda aligned for me on this day. Thanks for the comment!
Great Job Lance! True trophy! Congrats buddy!
Thank you Dana!
Good for you releasing those spawner females, I detest meat hunters that kill those big reproducer females. Walleye are a special game fish to me, eat those smaller males, they taste better too. Good video!!
Thank you for the comment!
Nice job Lance. What a bunch of pigs! I like hearing the water temperature. 👍
Thank you Jeff! It was a fun day!
Nice fish! Someday, I'll fish that river...I'm on the other side of the state. 👍
Thank you!
On my way
Fun to watch.
Great video. Huuuge fish!! Congrats on that pig! Do you think she's been eating, or what?!
Thank you! She’s probably been eating and full of eggs.
Great show, I'm amazed no one eles was there
Thanks! A couple other boats showed up later but really a quiet afternoon.
i and a couple friends are going to get t-shirts for our fishing outings .[the dakota county dogmen ] . it would be entertaining to see an episode dedicated to dogfishing . i know it doesn't sound appealing but id be interested in your technique and how big of a dog you've caught .
I’d consider doing some bowfin fishing. They are aggressive fish!
🎉NICELY DONE Lance.I’m 😢jealous. Thanx for the video……
Thank you Larry!
What a monster! Another great video Lance.
Thank you Geoff!
I always enjoy your videos.
Very informative and educational.
I can’t believe you are the only boat out fishing.
It was surprisingly quiet but a couple other boats did end up fishing nearby.
What color do you like to use if the water is a bit stained or has a rusty semi visibility to it?
I use a lot of white but darker baits like purple and black actually show up and silhouette quite nice in stained waters.
@@AnglerX appreciate it!
Man has been throwing up some killer content! Your channel has exploded over the last couple years, well done! Some tanks!
Thanks so much Thirty Lake Outdoors!
You got some really good ones. I wanna try that willow cat attractant. Some smallmouth and catfish would be awesome . Great video
Thanks for the suggestion River Rat!
Please message me the location. Thanks in advance
X you’re the man. How do the gates up change your approach ? Thanks
When the gates are up a lot of the downstream wingdams are blown out by current. Large back eddies by the day form that allow one to fish effectively close to the dam. Otherwise I’ll fish spillways in high water.
Awesome fish. Looks like you had a lot of fun.
Definitely a good time! Thank you!
I really enjoy your videos. What software/program do you use to edit your footage?
Thank you! Davinci Resolve
That was a good Walleye Lance I haven’t gotten one that big this year but I threw three back that were 25 about a month ago On the Wisconsin River
They are all fun to catch but those big prespawn females are impressive fish
Now that I can walk again the next thing after Walleye is GIANT Whitebass! You down to pound on some soon?
I’ll keep my whitebass radar on and let you know if anything comes up.
Where do you get those kind of flasher jig heads?! Nice videos! I love all the information. Keep it up
Go to www.liquidwillowcat.com
Great video! Huge chunky fish, I bet pushing 9 pounds! Would love to see a video targeting spring Pike in shallow water on the river.
Thank you! I may be chasing some pike in the coming weeks.
Congrats on that tank! I bet that 27” one was pushing the 9-10 pound mark, thing was a chunk! Wish I would’ve been on the river instead of turkey hunting the last two weeks. Smallmouth are starting to hit in Eastern Iowa on some interior rivers, which is always a fun bite! Congrats again on the great day fishing!
Thank you Steve! I hope you got your turkey but it sounds like maybe not. I’m looking forward to catching a few smallmouth myself.
Nice walleyes Lance ! Love seeing those big girls go back to spawn its only going to make a better fishery !
We should see more and more big fish in the upper Mississippi in the coming years.
Those walleye were impressive, but I'm betting most folks like me are waiting to see you land some trophy sheepshead!! Jokes aside those were some darn nice fish, and its awesome to see your channel growing. I have always loved the fact that your a talented multi species fisherman. I offer you a sincere thanks for you sharing your knowledge!
Thanks Chad! I’ll bet there will be some sheephead snapping soon 😉
great video!! beautiful walleyes. I'd love to see some spring bluegill/crappie action.
Thank you! I’ll get some panfishing in this spring, hopefully soon.
The guy knows how to get on em. Great content as always and some absolutely gorgeous fish. Well done sir.
Thanks for the comment Adam!
Great content as usual. Hope to see more flathead videos in the future.
I also hope to get on some flatheads, thanks for the comment!
Another great video Lance! Congrats on the tank of a walleye.
Thanks bud! I appreciate the comment.
Really like your videos. What do you recommend for a panfish adventure with my grandson anywhere between Fountain City and Trempealeau?
Thank you! Pool 5 and Pool 5a have some great backwaters for panfish. You can launch out of Merrick State Park and have good areas to fish.
Those are those healthy genetics that really should stay in the system as you can only imagine what a 30+ would look like and weigh! Congrats bud!
Thanks you Dave! It was a fun afternoon. Not the numbers of fish but size definitely made up for it.
After the walleyes finish up, shouldn't the white bass start spawning? Years ago, I remember catching some extra nice ones from this area. Do you plan to do a video on catching white bass from below the dam?
The white bass should be around but they seem to be feast or famine. If I get on some I’ll definitely do a video!
I've never been gung-ho about scent on baits as they have never made much difference for me. But now that I'm targeting things other then "whatever bites" like catfish and walleye for this tournament coming up. I'm wondering how much more difference they do make. Considering all the local youtubers I've seen use liquid willowcat scents have been recording unedited back to back fish on every cast footage lasting for 10 plus minutes. I might give it a try.
Also I've seen liquid willowcat baits at island outdoors on French Island and caption hooks in Genoa. I haven't been to the bait shops in onalaska since last fall so can't tell you there.
I’ve tried different scents and I can say from experience that they do work. Will fish bite without them, absolutely. I think it adds one more level of realism and enticement to your baits and may push an otherwise hesitant fish to bite.
Good job. Try to get the big girls back in the water faster tho lol
I know that spot. You’re lucky the DNR didn’t nip you for fishing there illegally. If you are in front of the float, you’re in front of the giant no fishing sign.
This area is open to fishing year round. You must be thinking of somewhere else.
Genoa?
