- I managed to get a couple of minutes with the worlds favourite documentarian - Louis Theroux. We had a chat about the release of his latest film My Scientology Movie as well as it's phenomenal success at the British box office. Louis also talks regrets, David Miscavige, Marty Rathbun, the current political climate and offers a glimpse at his upcoming projects involving crime, heroin and sex trafficking.

Note to future interviewers...don't give Theroux a chair that pivots.
No, give him one that swivels more. It adds to the interview 😁
want him on a bouncy castle
I downloaded it on VUDU. IT WAS FABULOUS. So many questions! I really love Louis. He makes the movie.
"Murder in Milwaukee"... it's a bittersweet feeling when your favorite documentarian has to shine light on how bad your hometown is in those regards. I know he'll do my city "justice," it's just too bad that it has to be in this way.
Great movie! Saw it with a friend who had never heard of Louis Theroux and she loved it as much as me. Recommended for everyone!
Great interview, man. How do you get in to this sort of work?
I work as a journalist out in NYC, I got approached by his publicity team to see if I wanted to interview him again after we last spoke at Tribeca film festival last year.
'University' then?
I think that ship has sailed for me tbh!
A good gig to get this one. Who are you working for in NYC?
Well even before university, I would reach out to unknown bands or anyone that was playing near me and ask them for interviews. If you're really passionate about a certain field, you should definitely reach out to people within it and ask them if they will have a chat with you. What's the worst they are going to say? No? Then you're right back at square one and you haven't lost anything.
That's a good attitude to have, dude!
Yeah I've considered just heading out and doing some interviews. And funnily enough most of that has been from the angle of music aswell.
Not a lot going on where I live, but I can travel for fun and try to fit in interviews while I'm away places and what not.
Nice one :)
Movie was great, watched it on demand since i dont get it in my local theater
Louie Theroux interviewed by slightly chubbier Louie Theroux
LOL it's like a before and after video for a slimming product. Side effects include beards.
I like how this comment is 'edited' and yet still has Louis' name spelt wrong twice :)
lol scrolled down to make this comment and here it is. ya beat me to it
In his dreams
@@FiveSigma72 - funny as
love it, great interview
Alright if this is annual where are the rest? Also really wanna know those last five minutes!
Two lovely british blokes!
Man, I've watched Louis since the Weird Weekends first aired and never really watched him being interviewed or even in a different setting from his own documentaries. He's hilarious, even more quirky and a straight talker...although we all know he doesn't mince his words from his shows.
My favorite documentary maker right there! And I watch a LOT of documentaries. Loved My Scientology Movie. Scary stuff.
I've got a tip for a new documentary subject. Satanists, he should do a docu on real satanists. There's so much taboo and wierd stories about satanism. Stories related to real murder cases, animal sacrifice and sexual abuse. Now that would be interesting
when information & truth are bad for your organization or 'religion', you know youve chosen poorly.
I like how he slipped a little Robert Frost
He didn't.
What is the name of the doco please?
how can you just hint at that marriage story and not give details? that's just mean
Theroux the keyhole lol
its
scientology was great fun back in the 1970's, proccessing was low cost and people twinned up to proccess eachother, simple repeated questions then bang! big realisations. I loved it. however scientology was infiltrated in 1983 and it became american glitz and expensive and controlling. sad to see. scientology has a department of correction, its capable of getting itself sorted and putting itself on the right track but they are not listening. they charge far far too much instead of getting Ron's fantastic works applied and helping mankind, they went for the cash and control instead. eeeek. time for them to listen and get themselves honest and straight and corrected.
just be honest for once, Out right crultey ...
Why doesn't Theroux like to discuss his Jewishness?
Pine Tree because it's not relevant to what he does
He has talked about it and he's not Jewish. It is irrelevant overall, but he has explained why he chose not to answer the question about whether he was Jewish in the neo-nazi episode.
@@ZombieWeiss He has zero Jewish in him.
Doesnt believe in god
@@marrioman13 He talks about race and religion all the time. Funny how he doesn't want people to think he's a jew, but wants them to assume he's a white gentile.
I like his work, but his manner and voice is rather annoying..
