This video gets better and better as it goes on. Warrington was great. The station announcer, "This train does not stop here"......I think people had gathered that!
Another stunner Mr Marsh and Son! Whoever would have thought when steam was doomed and banned from being less than 100 metres from a running line in 1968 - we would be able to experience this! Truly stunning - Wonderful Gentlemen .. Thank you ..
Great video - I was on the train and we were certainly shifting through WBQ! There was a bonus change of plan at Crewe and the Duchess stayed on the front all the way back to Tyseley - so more fast running on the WCML 😀
Superb captures thoroughly enjoyed, Liam and Phil, and what a fabulous series of exhaust trails. The whole video echoes your obvious euphoria and I'm delighted the whole sequence of events worked out so very well for you. Kind regards, Bob
What lovely landscape views to start with. It hardly needs a train. But when it does appear the way the wind's behind so that the steam stands up above it rather than drifting away makes a particularly nice effect
Brilliant and proffesional shots of a wonderful machine thanks for sharing. l filmed her day before in transit at Pleasington and my local station Wilpshire on the Sat static before departing Hellifield and Dent northbound and Wilpshire and Pleasington for night shots on the return. Cheers Brian (third engineer)
What a fabulous piece of film, great to see "Duchess" back up North, bit annoyed that she came through to Crewe as I think the original timings said she was coming off at Hellifield, might have gone to my local station Acton Bridge to see her go through. She is due back in the North West at the end of the month on trips to Chester and Manchester.
I was at the north end of platform 3 at WBQ - I heard u call out the speed just before exiting the station, didnt even realise it was you! Amazing shots as always
No. Normal passenger train power was Black Fives, Jubilees, Royal Scots or any combinations thereof along with Compounds & 2P’s as pilots ,although Britannia’s later ,but when Holbeck came under the North Eastern Region A3’s. My last run over the S&C in August 1966 was 70036 southwards.
Seems to be running very well. Typical draincock 'issues', and appears a little claggy - poorer quality coal? I realise it's probably pretty cold, so well done for persevering! Thanks for sharing. Al.
Yes, March 2022. The loco was withdrawn at the end of 2022 for general maintenance which has now turned into a small overhaul. Hopefully its back by the end of the year, though more likely next year.
What a stunning video and doesn't the locomotive look brilliant in her proper LMS livery. The only downer for me is the diesel on the back. I wish that steam specials would not run with them as it like going for tea at the Ritz and finding a McDonalds Big Mac on one of the plates!
Oh the symphony of the beats. Great smoke. Delightful countryside. If short of coal ,we have plenty in OZ. Russia and Karzaksthan may be a doubtful supplier these day. GOD help the Ukranians. Keep posting. jeff antipodes.

I was on the train, also, and had a very brief 79 on the GPS South of Warrington.
Grandiose Bilder! Bildschöne Landschaft! Majestätische Lokomotive! Danke!
Fantastic video, one of the best. I am biased but there is nothing more majestic than a Duchess.

Super footage of a magnificent machine, what a great display of power, Steve .

Wonderful … Thank you 🙏🏻
Yet another fabulous series of video sequences, many thanks!
A very nice piece of work. Some great vantage points. Fast machine as well.
Brilliant video Liam and Phil. Great to see Duchess back on the S&C. Fantastic selection of locations. Kind regards C&A
Think this performance of 6233 3 months ago will be one of the best on the Settle & Carlisle this year.
Liam & Phil, Yes this was rather special and a great tribute to the performance of the Duchess. Well done both of you. Regards, John
Wonderful - for me the Stanier Pacifics are the most beautiful of all steam locos.
Nah, Gresley all the way for me. But I agree she is beautiful, and especially in that Red.
Well done. Whole feeling of speed and power captured in video.
Fantastic, no more words needed.
IMPRESSIVE, both video and subject. WOW.
Damn. The Brits and the Indians have kept steam alive. Its a go to vid for steam history.
Gorgeous.
Absolutely fantastic!
Great footage of a great loco, thank you.
Simply the very best yet !
Great set of shots, thank you 👍👍
Excellent video and great locations
Great footage! Thanks a Lot!

Many thanks Brian, you got around a bit !
@@MarshSteamVideosTMWhat type of whistle does the Royal Scot have?
Nailed it again, superb filming, top job 👏 👍

She’s back in style
Superb.

Great video👍
Nice video of 46233 Duchess of Sutherland
A very nice video :)
Steam above and Stream below. Just a perfect chug-away to worries : )
Do you mind me asking what camera(s) you use as the footage is incredible!!. Keep up the good work :)
Did Duchesses traverse the S&C regularly in LMS/BR days?
Absolutely brilliant. I missed out so much. I have covid

So this video was taken in 2022? I thought the loco was still under overhaul
