Placing an order on the Enduro tomorrow, can't wait for the snow to disappear ;) Edit: With regards to the electronics, as long as they can be turned off I think they are great. If I'm out in the forest I want everything off, but if I'm commuting early in the morning in near 0 degrees with heavy traffic around me I am happy to have ABS and traction control there to help!
What I think? These electronics belong on a streetbike! Which the 690SMCR is, even as a supermoto. If it were a pure trackbike then maybe all the electronics are out of place and purists can start their discussions. But imo there is no discussion about it on a streetbike.

I've got a 2013 690 SMC-R and Imo. the new electronics are very welcome, as long as they can be switched off. Here in Thailand roads are very slippery with constant surprise braking situations, including mid-corner when you get some asshole truck driver overtaking in a curve. For road use, ABS is a must and cornering ABS is a nice bonus. I've had so many near misses in a panic braking situation as the front locks. Traction control is a bit unnecessary, but as long as it can be disabled I don't see any problems. Quick shifters are simply awesome!
Sounds like the Quickshifter+ is doing a great job! Finally a RAW vid of the enginesound with shifting gears fast. Can't wait to ride one on my own, offcourse with an akra or so. Thanks for the vid!

I wonder if it's more exciting than the other bikes. Obviously you enjoyed your first ride on a supermoto, but is this really something very special?
It is. But mostly because of the upright seating position and the seat which allows you to move around in every direction. I loved it but still it is my least favourite category. I prefer to sit "in" the bike rather than on top of it
I pick up my 23 KTM SMCR two days from now I have a 22 to Africa twin she's a beast but I'm looking forward to this. I have a question is that stock exhaust? that sure sounds good. Can't wait
do you notice, no clutching and no throttle lift on changing gears, haha awesome. the only issue with the 2019 model is the front hight, it is dropped by at least 7 inches, which looks now like a toddler sm, but makes the weight of the rider more evenly distributed. i really wanted this bike but now i have to look for 2017 or less model to have the high seat and high front, but then it is the rear that is too soft.
Sehr leiwande Ausfahrt! Supermoto style of riding involves sliding and wheelies which electronics don't alow so it's pretty much pointless having them when everyone will just turn it off but i guess many young folks commute on it and its probably their first bike and lets be honest parents will probably pay for some of them and parents like ABS
the electronics allow both wheelies and slides
@@Schaaf i know of that possibility, but isn't there also full abs and antiwheelie?
