hi Jackie I hope you are feeling better today also bloody morning everybody also if you said why did you say bloody morning? because I've been watching a lot of happy tree friends please don't bother me
Everyone knows that trained tattoo artists appear fully formed in the wild and that for everyone else, learning to do tattoos is just a gateway craft to DIY dentistry
Being some one with both tats and piercings, I can say there is a stigma around it but I love that you have been willing to try out this form of art in a safe and constructive way. It's not like you are sticking needles in Sika or attempting to tattoo her. Haters goanna hate and and all you can do is sprinkle salt on them to make them extra salty. hehehe
Although that might make for a hilarious episode lol! But yeah don’t stick Sika lol Lastly, I feel like we’re finally losing the stigma. I work in an office and we have bunches of pierced and tatted folks. There’s no rules against it. I have no visible ink but I have purple hair gauged ears.
Yeah. My grandma who’s against tattoos and piercings minus the ears. She’s become open minded and loves helping me design my tattoos. She even designed her own tattoo that I have now tattooed on me.
Definitely! Videos like these are only going to help destigmatize piercings and tattoos. Seeing that it really is not only an artform, but hard work requiring technical skill brings legitimacy to the industry. People freaking out about the gloves in the tat videos just irked me. She's practicing on silicone molds, and isn't going to be using these things on real humans in the future, chill out. She's just seeing what it's like and what it takes to do the job, and that's awesome.
I like how Karen was complaining about Jackie being "Only a child craft kit reviewer" but there are plenty of kits she's reviewed that aren't just for kids, and there is some adult humor references. She also even gives disclaimers.
And, Jackie is reviewing child kits (when she does) as a recommendation for the adult purchasers. Of course, Karens are gonna Karen. This one just took the title Grain of Salt in the wrong direction.
Jackie being open minded to a range of arts is quite inspiring. I grew up in a very racist catholic family and my parents hated rice (it’s ridiculous I know). This even includes the paella and the risotto etc. So naturally, I grew up with an internalised fear of rice-related cuisine although I’ve always been curious. After watching Jackie try tattooing I’ve decided to give rice-type food a try. I actually fell in love with it and I’ve been having it regularly. I think it’s so important to retain an open mind for everything. You’ll never know what you’re missing.
That's such a great attitude. Try things out of your comfort zone at least once. Aw, and rice of all things. There are so many different types and dishes. Have fun exploring :)
I'm so glad you're giving rice a try! Hearing your story makes me wonder what part of the world you are in because my family is also Catholic, but eats rice at every meal (it's integral to our culture) and several of them are even rice farmers!
You should be proud of yourself, not only for trying but being open about it as well, you never know who you might encourage to be more open themselves.
In the needle packages for the needles only ones, there's little white stoppers to put on the tip once you pierce the part to avoid extra damage to your client or yourself. I hope this helps to keep you safer :)
As someone who has multiple tattoos and piercings, this video would normally have me screaming at the screen. But I know you are just doing this for fun and not doing it to an actual person. I love all your videos and so happy to see you expand your creativity to these arts. It's awesome to see these become more accepted. And thank you Karen!
my fiancée asks why i watch kids crafting product testing, i tell him cuz im a child at heart ( even though im 43) lol i love crafting but am not very creative , so to me . i guess its kind of inspiring . my daughter and i want to start crafting , ive got a resin kit we are going to make pendants and keychains . Thank You Jackie for being my Muse for inspiration
I started watching Jackie because of her reviewing craft kits as I have a granddaughter who likes kits. Jackie does great reviews that are honest and also love the crafting she does. I'm a lot older than 40. 😉
I had my septum pierced like two weeks ago and watching you pierce the septum made my eyes water! The piercer used a needle that has like a little plastic sleeve bit that means the piercer can remove the needle and then slip the septum ring in the end of the tube and pull it out and the jewellery through, if that makes sense. Much easier. They also use a little Vaseline or similar on the needle too, makes the needle slip through much more easily and reduces the discomfort heaps. 😊
I like how the Karen was complaining that it wasn't child friendly even tho Jackie threateningly waves sharpy pointy things at us and that's ok? Lol and lot of tHaTs wHaT shE sAiD jokes
@@otakuparadise3585 heck yes, i guess people often assume if someone has a goofy personality or isn't boring they for kids? I heard similar things about Mariah Elizabeth, jazza, graveyard loon and drawfee i can think of much more but my point is just because it's bright colors, art ,toys, games it doesn't automatically mean 0nlY f0r kiDs , bruh i will be 20 soon--
"reviews child craft kits..." That she has repeatedly said are NOT just for children and this is NOT a children's channel, it's just relatively family friendly. Not the same thing.
I have 3 piercings on each ear. I love piercing my ears and I have a pretty good experience from them. Two of my 6 piercings almost got infected but I redid the treatment and they were fine. Also can we just thank Jackie for being so awesome and creative. Like Jackie we love you
As a piercer, I found this very entertaining. I particularly loved that you used a navel bar for the tongue (should be a barbell). Considering it was your first ever time trying anything like this, it was a good effort! The disposable clamps you were using are generally intended for septum piercings, they are, unfortunately, rather useless and will have made things much more difficult for you as they don't have much grip and are flimsy. If you plan on trying piercing again, perhaps a metal pair of reverse penningtons would make it easier for things like lip, navel, tongue etc. I use a rubber band wrapped around the upper portion of the clamps to get the correct tension instead of clicking them closed too. Also, always mark the spot first to have something to aim for and please get some corks, those needles are pointy! Hope this helps a little. Thank you for brightening my day before work Jackie!
Thank you for the constructive criticism and for the positive feedback! I don’t know why people are so serious but to see someone who does this for a living see this and think it was nice, and non offensive, helps counteract the disapproving, overreactive, negative comments :p
I was dying. I let an apprentice do my nipple the 2nd time. They had already done a couple dozen, just never one with scar tissue. He didn't use a cork and got my breast pretty good. My regular guy had turned around for something. And I guess the apprentice was just so nervous he forgot. I wasn't mad cause honestly it distracted me from the actual piercing pain. Lol. But he learned his lesson. Stuff like this though really makes me appreciate my piercer. It doesn't make me want to do my own or go somewhere inexperienced cause it's obviously not easy
Aa someone who is heavily tattooed, pierced, has done body suspension and scarification, I love the new Jackie! I've watched you for years (bit of a nerd too) and it still gets better! Karen who??
@@nyumyu4265 I've seen people do it, the people I saw even got swung on the hooks too, I've heard it can hurt but it's all done to minimize pain and potential infections or injuries
I said it under the tattoo videos and I say it under this as well: Playing around with stuff like that is just fun and totally ok. You are not tattooing or piercing someone else (I honestly wouldn't care if you would try it on yourself but you are too smart for that ;) ), you are not hurting someone else, you are just trying out stuff thats interresting to you. Again, Karen, if you are worried your child will do something like that, maybe do not give them access to your credit card or your online shoping accounts without supervision. And maybe keep an eye on them instead of burdening online entertainers with raising your children...
Yah those white ear piercers have been around forever if you are careful I have no problem with people using those though I personally wouldn't. I first saw a friend use em for her 13th birthday around 2002
I have piercings and I have a few pieces of advice. Never ever use piercing guns/staplers/clips, they cause blunt force trauma which then leads to either mild consequences all the way up to keilods and bad infections. Hollow needles are the only safe way to pierce.
So I currently have gauged ears, a lip ring, and a tongue stud (had to redo that one three times, I currently have my third in). I've previously had multiple other ear piercings (cartilage, daith, rook) and body piercings (eyebrow, labret, *clears throat*). I want to get a nostril ring/stud, and I keep going back and forth on the nips. That being said, most piercers will agree - piercing 'guns' (the machines you used for the nostrils on 'Jonathan') are terrible (mostly because the earrings are way less sharp than the needles, so the piercing isn't as clean and is actually more damaging than a needle.
The "guns" are legitimately barbaric and should actually be banned. They're impossible to sanitise and most "gun" piercings end up with complications. Had both my ears pierced with guns at _Take A Fuckin Guess What The Store Name Was_ when I was a kid and both piercings got a staph infection. Then they blamed me because I "didn't clean them properly". I followed their aftercare very strictly. Learned years later that most people who get pierced there have problems. It's literally blunt force trauma to the lobes and they never heal correctly
Full disclaimer!!! Piercing guns aren’t actually a good way for ear piercing. They’re near impossible to probably disinfect and use the actual earring to pierce. That means that a relatively blunt object is being forced through your ear leaving the hole jagged. Go to a professional that uses proper needles!! It’s much more sanitary and effective.
needles are way way better!!! anyone who got it done with a gun and thinks its fine got super lucky, 2 doesn't know how much longer the healing time is with guns, and probably was one of the only people to use that gun and didn't get infected or didnt know it was
@@MilwaukeeWoman good for u but that doesnt mean its safe they r just warning people that piercing guns r super unsafe because its simply unclean and forceful
Omg I got my ears double pierced with guns... No wonder it's so fkin hard to find the hole when I try n put new ear rings in. So are the holes jagged??? They were pierced with actual earrings
I must admit I am very pleased you don't tattoo/pierce yourself or other people. There is extensive training for a good reason. It is dangerous and should only be done by a professional. However all professionals were once beginner's and they had to start somewhere. And your going about it the right way. I am super glad you did a disclaimer though. There will always be Karen's no matter what we do.. Your doing good our beautiful saltee queen!
Yeah because kids listen to disclaimers....I mean the clickbait photo says it all..when I was 14 I would have assumed she was saying that cus she had to or something Lol kids always look for the "ok" to do something especially from those they admire...and I do legit love Jackie's videos and I can see how she would appeal to youth which is why this is concerning.
@@xdani_thethinkingneko if kids can understand the content in the video enough to understand piercings, they can also understand that Jackie is NOT in any capacity advocating for kids to pierce themselves...this shouldn’t be concerning.
I agree about Jackie doing this the right way. And I don't think it would be the worst thing in the world if kids (teens) got some fake noses or skins and played around like Jackie. She's not piercing herself or anyone else. They'll have to make a leap of logic to go from what she's doing to actually piercing themselves. And that wouldn't be Jackie's fault. (Besides, I had some friends who pierced each others' ears at a sleepover with a needle and an eraser. It probably wasn't the most professional job, but it worked. After seeing that, I never got pierced ears 😂. Of course, I'm not endorsing what they did -- it can definitely be dangerous and lead to infection or keloids, but kids have been doing things like this for generations and it's unfair to blame Jackie.)
@@dreacranford my mum pierced her own ears exactly the same way, except in class in like 5th or 6th grade...in 1977. Yeah, Jackie's video isn't contributing anything concerning. People putting holes in themselves isn't anything new, and it's not going to stop any time soon. At least she's providing alternative outlets and showing how bad it could go. I honestly think the video itself is a better turn off to doing it yourself than the disclaimers.
Just a little tip, piercing guns are not good for you even for the ear lobes, it just tears through your ear and the butterfly clips are not the best for healing piercings as your skin can eat it and it catches alot of dirt. Stick to needles if you can it causes less trauma yo your skin and heals alot faster.
The reason why the jewelry didn’t go in the needle is because you used a 16 gauge needle with a 14 gauge ring, if you try this again use a 16 gauge ring with a 16 gauge needle, and with the 14 gauge ring use a 14 gauge needle. My sister is works at a tattoo and piercing store, she has lots of training (obviously) but she told me that when I needed to re-pierce my ears. I mean this as a helpful tip not criticism! You did very well
As someone who has facial piercings, including a septum and a labret, this was really fun but also terrifying to watch ahahah I wonder what video idea Karen will come up next
@@harmonyoftheskies6777 it was okay, not nearly as bad as I imagined, like a 5/10 at most. But I was really nervous before as well so I mostly felt relieved when it was done lol. I also stretched my septum a size up later (from 1.4 to 1.6mm) and that pain was totally worse.
The jewelry wouldn’t fit in the needle because a general rule of thumb is to pierce with a needle one size larger than your jewelry, so in this case you would use a 14g needle for 16g jewelry 😂 I love watching you learn it’s very entertaining lol!
I absolutely love my vertical labret, septum and nostril piercings, I also have my lower lobe piercing which i have now stretched to 10mm and i pierced my own upper lobes which are now stretched to 4mm. I've always wanted to see how they were done and i am honestly so glad that this was that video. Jackie you're amazingly fun and I love the comedy version way better 🤣

I legit can’t even front I’m a uni student and all I do when I get home is Binge NerdeCrafters videos I’m obsessed. They are so calming I have gone back 1 year already I can’t stop. I LOVE JACKIE AND SIKA
Was it a rocket? I thought it was a Bjayzl, it looked like a fairly flat blur. (Bjayzl is a character in Star Trek Picard and I hate her name so much.)
Piercing guns cause a lot of damage, it’s better for the skin to get ear piercings at a piercer with a piercing needle. Good job though! It’s fun to watch you experiment with things :)
I agree. When I was 12 my mom took me to get my ears pierced and the place she took me to used a gun. I'm now in my 30's and despite not wearing earrings at all for at least 15 years, the wholes are not healed over at all and I have issues that arises every so often due to the trauma the gun caused my earlobes. I feel like piercing guns should be banned.
When I was around 3 or 4 I had my ears pierced by one of them gun thing but my ear and my piercing is fine it's been 9 or 10 years later I'm 14 and my ear is perfectly fine I think I doesn't always happen
@@Dev_1970 yeah in some cases it turns out great! But the piercing guns earring is blunt compared to a piercing needle. The piercing needle was specially designed in the 70s I believe. They did research on skin and variations of a syringe needle and came up with a very specific bezel that would cause less damage to tissue. Dosent mean it’s going to be perfect every time. The blunt gun earring actually pushed out a small bit of tissue which can cause scarring if the person decides to remove the piercing. But if it’s never removed then it’s not going to be a problem :) ((I also got mine done with a piercing gun as a kid. I just find this information really interesting))
22:31: I thought it was hilarious when Jackie pierced her finger with the needle and the “Technical Difficulties Please Stand By”. I’ve been laughing for 20 mins. “Oh no! Ahhh, where’s the disinfectant? Holy carp, that is sharp!” 😂 That definitely hurt…
The "mechanisms" are called piercing guns and the needles are better for acctual skin and they hurt alot less. I got my earlobes pierced at a piercing studio and they only use needles, but it was super fun watching you do this.
Spot on! Piercing guns aren't as widely used as they were when I was a kid (20 years ago) as more is known about the damage they can do. Piercing via needles is much safer and heals a lot faster and easier as well. Some places do still use them but i honestly try to steer people away from using them if at all possible. They just aren't worth the risks.
The gun actually isn’t better since it’s just ripping straight threw the skin but the needle glides threw, professional will always go needle form since it’s so much safer and cleaner to do
Seriously tho!! I had to retire the cuter gauges for silicone ones bc the backings were infuriating to screw on.. plus the non-silicone ones stink WAYY more!!! IYKYK 🤢
You should never ever pierce with a piercing-gun. It damages the tissue as it is not sharp enough. You should always use a piercing-needle. Well, you should never do it yourself, but always go to a proffesional piercer.
I was looking for this comment. Both times I got my ears pierced, I got it done with those piercing-guns. And both times, I got a lot of infections in my ear despite cleaning them thoroughly twice a day. After they healed, it was better. But, I'm never going to let my kids get pierced at Claire's or anything like that. Professional shops will be where it's at.
At the shop i work at we use the original listerine (the yellow one) to disinfect inside the mouth. Also if you put the tip of the needle in some neosporin it helps the needle go through easier, because it acts as a lube. Another note is try using a piece of cork and the end of the needle you push from instead of pliers to get through the tough silicone. I will add that I’m primarily a tattoo artist who can do piercings so I don’t pierce often but hopefully this is helpful.
You actually did pretty good! You need lube though! (“That’s what she said” lol) vasoleen, is what my piercer used. You are definitely missing some jewelry though. Like straight bars for tongue rings and nipples. You also did really well with the gauges. The smaller the number the larger the hole. The larger numbers like 16 and 18 are generally used for thinner skinned areas like face and skin. Also even for piercing your ears it is always better to use a hypodermic needle than to essentially push or puncture the skin with itself. It heals faster with less chance of rejection when you use the hypodermic needle than the gun. Thank you Smitty at BIG BRAIN Omaha NE!
wait your piercer used Vaseline on yours?? :0 none of mine have been lubed, I didnt know they even did that and I feel like it would've made a couple of them waaay less painful lol, I feel cheated
Everyone knows the reason you think you can pierce your own ears as a kid is from that scene in the Lindsey Lohan Parent Trap duh so sue Disney not Jackie lol
Do not EVER get a peircing with a piercing gun, whether it's from a licensed professional or back alley Dave. Piercing guns CANNOT be sterilized, and they cause trauma to the tissue they're piercing. The piercing can become a keloid scar, or become lumpy/bumpy because of said trauma. You can get a blood infection, or even an infection from someone else *because* they can't be sterilized. Kits like these are wonderful for learning the theory for aspiring tattoo / piercing artists (I myself was an aspiring piercing artist!) but there is a lot of misinformation out there. Please always do research about how the process works if you're going to get a permanent modification to your body, and please make sure you ignore back alley Dave and his piercing gun.
Yeah... unfortunately can confirm that one. 28 years later and my left earlobe is still thicker and bigger than the right one. In my defense, internet was not a thing back then.
They what now?! God I got lucky in '99 with my mall piercings haha. I've long since let them more or less close up but still. Real squicked out for past me tho.
Pharmacies in my country pierce ears sometimes (bad idea) but at least they use single use piercing guns. Once upon 2 decades ago I had my lobes done at a jeweller and he actually did use the needle of a single use syringe and told me to only use saline to rinse and no touchy touchy 90yo jeweler knew better than rando pharmacist in this ripe modern age. I could feel it in my cartilage ones when my niece rotated the new lobe piecings and rinsed then with harsh disinfectant as per pharmacist instructions😬
When I was younger I wanted ear piercings but my parents refused when I said I wanted to go to an actual specialist for it, they randomly took me to Claires without telling me what we were doing and used their Parental Authority to pressure me into getting it done there. The piercings never healed so I just took them out again. They’re Christian so they have a prejudice against stuff like that and I guess they wanted it to be crappy on purpose. Edit: Also I think Claire’s lied about the piercing material and the stud they used had nickel in it (my family has metal allergies) which is part of why it was always irritated and never healed.
So this is more for what you can do with the supplies after you've done a second video because why spend that money and not get everything you can out of it. All the silicone pieces including the head are great for making molds off of, for clay or paper mache. I'd love to see you try making paper mache masks or something. And all the extra findings you have could be added to your sculptures to give them the look of piercings, or just metal accents. At least that's where my mind goes with all the extra pieces you have.
It's funny, after I stopped cringing I also wondered how Jackie would use the silicon body parts in her craft work. Great suggestions. (Didn't help my needle aversion. 😉)
I love the mask making idea and now I'm wondering if the silicone head would be OK in the oven for polymer clay and thinking you could use resin on it to create masks too.
So sure an untrained person shouldn't be piercing or tattooing but you didn't tattoo or pierce anyone. I have five lobe piercings, both daiths done, and my septum. I love them.
I have soo many piercings one of them was such a commitment it took 18 months to heal and I still clean all of them no matter how long I've had them with warm salt water (very diluted) and a soft face brush that goes in the dishwasher. It's a real commitment I've got my lips, septum, eyebrow, industrial and some more hidden Ones. Keep it clean and keep your hands clean 🫧❤
I got my lower lip pierced the year before last, they pull your lip out a lot and then go upwards. They give you a special mouthwash and dry your lip a bit then they get the clamp, they quickly put the needle through then they'll put in a straight bar with a flat back, they are extra long for swelling while you heal. my lip swoll up straws were my best friends, it was hard eating, it didn't hurt but you have to avoid touching them while they heal. If you want to know more about piercings I'd recommend Roly (not really for kids) I think the contraptions in the videos are cartridges that go into the piercing guns
The real question that Karen should be asking herself is, what child has unrestricted access to an Amazon account and the spare cash just kicking around to be able to purchase these tools and supplies to start with? Like, come on.
Children are more resourceful than you think. I did my own belly button piercing in 1993 with a proper 16 gauge needle that I got from a feed store when I was 16 and that was without the internet. (Did it myself because back then there weren't any local piercers and I was 16 anyway.)
Plus, this isn't RUclips kids so Karen if you want the best for your kids, you have to do it yourself not expect the entire world to baby proof itself for the kids you don't take care of
@@blitz-o-byte Excellent point. If Karen is so worried what her kids watch then she needs to supervise their screen time, not try to police the internet and make it lame for adults who are free to post and watch what they like within RUclips guidelines. Jackie didn't even post a tutorial or practice on herself or other humans. She made it absolutely clear she was just exploring another art form and gave the requesite warnings about not trying it at home. Jackie has also said in the past on several occasions that her channel isn't really meant for kids, it's more geared towards adults who might want to buy a craft kit for their kids or themselves but don't want to waste money on crap. I love that Jackie's response was to take Karen's sarcastic remark about a piercing video and actually make one. Even though my previous comment above was a warning not to underestimate the resourcefulness of kids I also think that we shouldn't underestimate their intelligence either. I don't think kids will try to give themselves a tattoo or piercing solely because they saw it onJackie's videos, if they do it was because it was already something they had decided to do.
These videos are actually a great way to show why people should look for professionals in tattooing and piecing XD also I always wondered how people practiced for these things, I didn't know there were materials for that. Great video, I love seeing you try new things!
If the pandemic wasn’t still going on it’d be really cool if Jackie could talk to her local piercing and tattooing artists and ask them about their craft.
I know that now 😂 I did pierce myself and luckily nothing went wrong but it could have! I am never doing that again especially when it could look 100x better professionally
* Sees NerdECrafter doing peircings * Me: YAYYYYYYY * Sees peircing gun * Me: NOT YAY (DISCLAIMER: Her using them for practice purposes isnt particularly bad but it is better to avoid them in general as most professional artists are trying to phase out the use of Piercing guns in professional settings. NEVER get your actual body pierced by a piercing gun!! They use blunt force with a dull earring to cause the hole which can cause uneven piercings and Keloids)
Yep! Have your ears pierced by a tattoo parlor (yes, even your kids!) with a proper needle. The environment is sterile and they’re professionals (and it hurts less).
I have to get mine redone because it was done with a gun and its all kinds of messed up and the hurt anytime I put earrings in. Also they are super uneven.
The orientation of the bevel on the needle changes how it moves through the body it can drift a lot as you found with the tongue. The pros can use tools to crush and shape the needles to minimise drag, mitigate drift and minimise trauma and bleeding. Being pierced by real pro can make a massive difference to healing time and the overall experience. Love this video and love seeing you give so many different things a go.
I have 11 piercings in total and my experience with them is totally good maya the healing process is kind of a pain but other than that all good + I adore u fr you're amazing
Hey Jackie, you could decorate the human head and then display it on the wall like a hunting trophy. Name it and pretend like it’s a real person. People will assume all sorts, and that could be hilarious to see people's reactions.
piercing guns should never be used, specifically because of the infection risk and the risk of damage to the are where you pierce, which a needle wouldnt do. this is because of how the guns work. they dont stab you with a needle, they forcefully punch the jewelry through the body, which can break cartilage and shatter it, which a needle wouldn't do, as it just simply punctures it using a needle. i appreciate you making these videos and not making them on real people, but i feel that it needs to be said that piercing guns are not a safe way to get pierced, and that needles are definitely preferable!
Uh, I think I got my ears pierced with a similar machine in the 90s in the back of a chemist. Same mechanism/forceful punching of the jewellery, but possibly a bit more powerful because it looked a little gun shaped? Possibly like the gun things they use to attach security tags to clothes? It's been like 25 years so I'm not 100% sure, and I know the technology and safety has changed since then. I flinched on one ear, so the hole is slightly crooked. This comment would be filled with the sweat/stress emoji if I knew how to type it.
Ooohh you should tattoo the head, make him pretty lol. Doctor to Jackie, "why do you have an earring in the tip of your finger?!" Jackie "about that...."
~lol~ Glad to know I wasn't the only one imagining Roly having an aneurysm if he saw this 😅 (I love both Jackie & Roly, but they are two vlogs that should *never* cross streams 😆)
@@Saighin Never!😂😂😂 but hilarious bc I honestly think they'd get along great. They just have 2 totally different platforms, that if/when put together are either really weird, or straight up wrong 😂😉🤯
I watched this video as someone with several piercings including the tongue with my mum and it was very funny. Trust me when I say, the tongue is one of the easiest piercings you can do and always keep the piercings removable ball under your tongue. 😊
First of all: F the Karen xD Secondly, the punching guns are usually for earrings (the inserted earrings are usually medical ones to gelp with the healing, while actual piercings are slowly pierced by a needle. The gun also presses the flesh together so the needle gets shot straight trough, but f.i. snake bites (both lower lips) tongue and the like need so much more precisions, which why they are slowly done. Third, I got my tongue, lip and ears pierced, aswell as I got tunnels~ I used to have nip piercings too but they didnt like the piercing sooo...had to take them out unfortunately.
The biggest reason why piercing guns aren't recommend for any piercing is that they push a relatively blunt piercing through the skin, which causes a lot more tissue damage than piercing with a needle. Additionaly, most places use multi-use piercing guns, which can't be sterilized properly.
I've never heard of a "medical earring." I can only assume it's a leap you're reaching from "surgical steel," but either way, they don't help with healing. In fact, you're more likely to end up with an ear keloid from a piercing gun than a hollow needle. You're traumatizing the tissue, ears or otherwise, and actually causing longer healing time. Since the earring is pre-loaded, it also can't be autoclaved to be properly sanitized, so you're risking bacteria exposure into an open wound. They're just bad news all around, and frankly, should be banned.
"...anyone who isn't a trained Tattooer..." Exactly how do you think a "Tattooer" gets trained? What supplies do you believe a "tattooer" would need to learn? Real talk: an apprentice who is learning will use the same types of materials to learn on. Karen needs to do some basic research into what tattoo artists actually do to learn their craft. Also, NEVER use the piercing guns on actual people. They are extremely unsanitary and are always ridden with bacteria. ALL piercings should be done with a straight, sanitized, needle.
@@seanaepley3180 the same goes for these. They're notoriously bad for bacteria, jamming, not fully piercing, or straight up piercing wrong. Don't use the piecing guns, period, and use a straight needle for all piercings. Source: one of my friends owns and operates his own tattoo shop, and he's done all of my piercings and tattoos. We've spoken at length about these subjects.
As a person who just got their septum pierced a few months ago and my ears pierced years ago i definitely recommend using the hollow needles as it takes out the piece of skin that you are replacing with the jewelry whereas with a gun you are shoving the piercing through the skin and damaging the skin more than if using a hollow needle.
Well, she is not a channel for kids. She has stated that many times.
Yeah that too.

Sorry, but I can't resist this urge

I had my septum pierced like two weeks ago and watching you pierce the septum made my eyes water! The piercer used a needle that has like a little plastic sleeve bit that means the piercer can remove the needle and then slip the septum ring in the end of the tube and pull it out and the jewellery through, if that makes sense. Much easier. They also use a little Vaseline or similar on the needle too, makes the needle slip through much more easily and reduces the discomfort heaps. 😊

I have piercings and I have a few pieces of advice. Never ever use piercing guns/staplers/clips, they cause blunt force trauma which then leads to either mild consequences all the way up to keilods and bad infections. Hollow needles are the only safe way to pierce.
This!!! Exactly this!!! 💯 please be safe!!!
Yes! Don't pierce yourself, but if you do, hollow needles for sure!

Yeah, the one piercing I got with a gun took so long to heal, it got infected and everything. Not nice

Mine have been fine for 23 years.
I also still have the marks from when my ears were pierced

@@xdani_thethinkingneko thats their parents responsibility tbh
Just a little tip, piercing guns are not good for you even for the ear lobes, it just tears through your ear and the butterfly clips are not the best for healing piercings as your skin can eat it and it catches alot of dirt. Stick to needles if you can it causes less trauma yo your skin and heals alot faster.
yeah, as ive seen said a million times, never ever ever use piercing guns.
The jewelry wouldn’t fit in the needle because a general rule of thumb is to pierce with a needle one size larger than your jewelry, so in this case you would use a 14g needle for 16g jewelry 😂 I love watching you learn it’s very entertaining lol!

Spot on! Piercing guns aren't as widely used as they were when I was a kid (20 years ago) as more is known about the damage they can do. I absolutely love how concerned you were for your silicone practice pieces.

I want to educate people every time is we someone about to get pierced at Claire’s.
Yeah... unfortunately can confirm that one.
Once upon 2 decades ago I had my lobes done at a jeweller and he actually did use the needle of a single use syringe and told me to only use saline to rinse and no touchy touchy
90yo jeweler knew better than rando pharmacist in this ripe modern age.
I was thinking the same thing when she was playing with the lips. 😂
I love the mask making idea and now I'm wondering if the silicone head would be OK in the oven for polymer clay and thinking you could use resin on it to create masks too.
Now that you said it i cant remember the inside of my lip being disinfected before being pierced and ive gotten it done twice now
So sure an untrained person shouldn't be piercing or tattooing but you didn't tattoo or pierce anyone.
I have five lobe piercings, both daiths done, and my septum. I love them.
Imagine getting your tongue pierced and your piercer immediately screaming, "Oh no, how did that happen?!" 😂
WOW. All I can say is mad respect to the talented professionals who do this for a living.
Read this as Jackie was literally saying the same thing 👁️👄👁️
I respect the people who love her videos and her videos Are the best I only watch her no one else
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
If you want to know more about piercings I'd recommend Roly (not really for kids)
I think the contraptions in the videos are cartridges that go into the piercing guns
Do you figit with it a lot?
And people complain about a vaccine jab in their arm
@@jennybartolo4360 all the time, it has replaced shirt hem fiddling and lip biting

This just makes me look at professional piercers in awe. This looks so difficult!
Plus, this isn't RUclips kids so Karen if you want the best for your kids, you have to do it yourself not expect the entire world to baby proof itself for the kids you don't take care of
BTW this isn't directed to the poster of the comment just for the ocasional Karen, thought I could clarify ~
I have 17 piercings so far. 2 nostril, 1 septum and the rest are on my ears. I’d love a high nostril piercing though, those look very cute
These videos are actually a great way to show why people should look for professionals in tattooing and piecing XD also I always wondered how people practiced for these things, I didn't know there were materials for that. Great video, I love seeing you try new things!
I think that real pierces would go more for actual Lee piercing people because they actually move and people very unlike the fake body parts
JACKIE,: We're trying DIY piercings
COMMENTERS: Ok, sounds reasonable
JACKIE: And we're using this piercing *gun*
COMMENTERS: Oh no no no.
I really love how much empathy you have for silicon props *giggles*
I would like to see Roly react to this because I think he would be dramatically funny about it.
That was my first thought too! Loved Treacle tats reaction to the other videos too.

If the pandemic wasn’t still going on it’d be really cool if Jackie could talk to her local piercing and tattooing artists and ask them about their craft.
I mean if they take precautions I don’t see why she couldn’t or at least a zoom call with one lol
That karen wasnt a grain of salt she was a grain of pepper
Grains, this is just a friendly reminder that you shouldn't pierce yourself at home and definitely don't use piercing gun, so many things can go wrong
Ive seen a piercing gun get stuck. it took half an hour to get it off the person without any major damage.
I know that now 😂 I did pierce myself and luckily nothing went wrong but it could have! I am never doing that again especially when it could look 100x better professionally
Came to write this, those guns are the worse and just should not be sold
I used to pierce my ears all the time when I was bored 💀
* Sees NerdECrafter doing peircings *
Me: YAYYYYYYY
* Sees peircing gun *
Me: NOT YAY
(DISCLAIMER: Her using them for practice purposes isnt particularly bad but it is better to avoid them in general as most professional artists are trying to phase out the use of Piercing guns in professional settings. NEVER get your actual body pierced by a piercing gun!! They use blunt force with a dull earring to cause the hole which can cause uneven piercings and Keloids)
Thank you. I was getting ready to say the same thing.
I got my ears pierced at Claire's with a gun and they got infected alot as a kid.
@@madisonbridgers7483 that hapen to me and i when to a dr. it was on a vain aperenly.
I highly enjoy your sense of humour
I accidentally ordered mannequin wig heads instead of wigs. I'm trying to decide what to do with them
@@NoThankUBeQuiet Definitely make hunting trophies. 🙂
THIS IS WHAT I WAS THINKINGGGG
I have some similar to the head. I use it to practise face painting but it can be used for anything
Alternate title: Why you should ALWAYS go get pierced by a professional.
piercing guns should never be used, specifically because of the infection risk and the risk of damage to the are where you pierce, which a needle wouldnt do. this is because of how the guns work. they dont stab you with a needle, they forcefully punch the jewelry through the body, which can break cartilage and shatter it, which a needle wouldn't do, as it just simply punctures it using a needle. i appreciate you making these videos and not making them on real people, but i feel that it needs to be said that piercing guns are not a safe way to get pierced, and that needles are definitely preferable!
I got so excited when I saw both of your and Treacle tatts content crossing over because I love watching you both!
Ooohh you should tattoo the head, make him pretty lol. Doctor to Jackie, "why do you have an earring in the tip of your finger?!" Jackie "about that...."

I watched this video as someone with several piercings including the tongue with my mum and it was very funny. Trust me when I say, the tongue is one of the easiest piercings you can do and always keep the piercings removable ball under your tongue. 😊

The next episode Jackie gets new piercings.
Us: you got those done professionally, right?
Jackie: you saw nothing!!!
First of all: F the Karen xD
Secondly, the punching guns are usually for earrings (the inserted earrings are usually medical ones to gelp with the healing, while actual piercings are slowly pierced by a needle.
Woah a while paragraph you wrote over here 😂😂😂
I've never heard of a "medical earring." I can only assume it's a leap you're reaching from "surgical steel," but either way, they don't help with healing.
@@Amarianee in Germany we got the sterile surgical steel earrings in those guns and they are one time use only.
I always piece my ears I did it to my mum too she love it
"...anyone who isn't a trained Tattooer..."
Exactly how do you think a "Tattooer" gets trained? What supplies do you believe a "tattooer" would need to learn? Real talk: an apprentice who is learning will use the same types of materials to learn on. Karen needs to do some basic research into what tattoo artists actually do to learn their craft.
Also, NEVER use the piercing guns on actual people. They are extremely unsanitary and are always ridden with bacteria. ALL piercings should be done with a straight, sanitized, needle.
You're thinking about the reusable guns like at Claire's, there are individually wrapped and only used once.
Damn I had no idea about the piercing gun info. I think when I was like 7 that's how I got my ears pierced, hurt like hell too. xD
Piercing guns are bad. Stick to the hollow needle
sounds legit
As a person who just got their septum pierced a few months ago and my ears pierced years ago i definitely recommend using the hollow needles as it takes out the piece of skin that you are replacing with the jewelry whereas with a gun you are shoving the piercing through the skin and damaging the skin more than if using a hollow needle. I will say the fact that you were disinfecting the area beforehand was a good thing. either way I love your videos and keep up the good work Jackie.
Piercing needles don’t take out any flesh
I can't imagine how I would feel if I went to get my tongue pierced and the one I hired says *"Oh, that's bad. Oh, no. That's bad."* HAHAHA
