Francesco being this good at what he does is almost unfair on the music industry. The mind of that guy is a big part of what made me fall in love with Fleshgod Apocalypse, his influence on this album is a big reason to love it and even the additional keyboards in Elegy made a big difference. Everything he touches turns to gold. Genuinely one of the most talented people in metal as a whole
Made my cold metal heart slightly warmer seeing you absolutely FEEL the "Limbs contorted - Anatomical morbid distortions" buildup/breakdown part, its so so good and only hits harder every listen. I took like a year break from metal music and this song in particular just blasted me so hard on revisiting for 2nd listen, I absolutely love it in its entirety. Keep hammering boy

I really like this one, definitely memorable, well structured, heavy, and epic. I have one complaint though, I wish that the verses had a riff behind them. The chorus' chord progression was followed through basically the whole song, so it got a little redundant for me. That being said, I still love this track, and Ben's vocals and the drums made up for the emptiness in the first verses. Great reaction, I'm definitely excited for their album!
I am redeemed. I was dead certain the last song was more like a playground for the drummer to showcase what they've got with the new guy. This was more of the SOI we know. There's a clear shift towards a more melodic death metal side, slowly losing the core. But man the vocals, the drums, the solo. The entire combo. So. Fucking. Awesome.
It's a top tier track for SOI and shows their maturity and progression... but I feel it's more about the mood I'm in for which song I prefer to listen to with both singles. The next release is likely to be much of the same with a diverse sound/mix as both these singles. I'm sold from hearing these two songs, album 'Elegy' is pre-ordered. Much like Orbit Culture with heavier/brutal vocals and fast paced drums (Mast of the World, Carvings) and then having other songs be more epic, melodic and symphonic (Flight of the Fireflies, A Sailor's Tale) I feel that way with Shadow of Intent. I loved both tracks for what they are and when I want to listen to them. I used OC as a reference since they are my fav band along with SOI and never seem to release a song I don't like. Another great and entertaining reaction!
Ben's vocals are just astronomically and disgustingly to heavy. It sounds like a bubbling pit of demonic souls and castrated crushed corpses drowning and fusing together in tar and molten lava spewing from his mouth. This is so goddam heavy and evil it officially has the right to replace Halloween this year. We celebrate and Trick or Treat on Shadow of Intent this year 💀
