Grindcore's low guitar tuning, low-end heavy tones, and machine gun kicks usually fill in the lows pretty well. Even Pig Destroyer started without a bassist. However, many bands do include bass on their records.
Do you typically like grindcore or heavy music in general? If the answer is no, then congrats, you've wasted your time hating on things you already knew you would dislike. If you do, I have a feeling you're on some metal elitist tip. Hiss is up there with Terrifyer for catchiest grind.
