I know someone had set up twin on sticks over the area, it helps to deter hawks that think they can't get out once they get in. Can tie it to some posts and stick in them for some coverage.
I am working on a 8x8 less cutting. I have 45 chickens I’m putting wheels all the way in back cause I’m putting next boxes on the out side . I don’t need a lid to open as well It going to be like 4.0 version Mix of a few Kc farms Justin Rhodes Joe’s S. 2 others one called his the chic chariot he has 4 wheels My door might be on side .
Is the difference between yours and Justin's the guard goose? I seem to remember he had trouble with aerial predators until he got one. I've seen other youtubers use them also. I personally am not a fan, but that's because I got attacked by one when I was a kid on my mom and dad's farm.
We didn't feel like we need one. From the research I've done, a goose isn't going to stop an aerial attack, it's just going to make a lot of noise to let you know there is something bad out there. Seems pointless since we have roosters and they'll actually try to fight (ours have fought off hawks in the past). Personally preference I guess
This dislexic lazy seventy year old lawnmower mechanic observer sees a couple of things right away. Number one. A great video. Number two. Use a double chicken wire floor . Wire on top of a two by four wire on the bottom of a two by four. Predators will eat the feet and legs off your chickens with a single wire floor. More space the better. Next crippled up people have trouble moving anything. So what I see is get an old pop up rotted out camper strip it down build coup on top. Hook it to the back of a old riding mower without a deck and leave it there. Start it up drive it anywhere. This also gives you a constant twelve volt battery sorsce available for say a small light in pen or whatever. Gotta go Tim.
Like your idea with the tow bar attached to chicken coop with the riding mower to tow. I am in process of building Justin Rhodes ChickShaw 2.0. It is up on 26" wheels with 1" x 1: wire mesh above 2" x 2" so haven't heard of anyone losing a chicken to a predator while the chickens are locked up in the ChickShaw. If it gets too heavy I will keep you idea in mind and add a drawbar.

when I was a kid my dad made a hut with wheels on. I thought he was crazy at the time, turns out he knew what he was doing

I’ve seen a video of HavingBlack Chickens to Prevent Hawk Attacks.
I saw that video too and chose dark chics for that reason.
I made my son in law close up that back (needs a door) because weasels can get in there.
Gotta get ya a guard goose like Justin has!
Might have to because we've already had casualties at the new property
Looks awesome . how hot does it get there ... Im in oz and temps can get pretty high so need the chickens to be cool enough
We have plenty of super hot and humid days here in NC, the chickens usually go underneath the coop in the heat of the day and they are fine.

You probably shouldn't associate yourself with that Justin Rhodes character. He did a lot of shady things during his youtube career.
Haven't heard of anything "shady" associated with Justin Rhodes. Can you provide details?
