And we are so blind as to accept this activity as normal. And then with a straight face holler racism when folks of other races try to rid themselves of your presence! It ain't your color - it is the actions. Some of us know and act with sense but those numbers pale in comparison to the "out of control", lacking awareness folks whom we are composed of. I got my house shot up in Memphis in 1996. I went to elementary and middle school with Paul and ate dinner with Boo on more than 1 occasion. I have a funny story about Paul. He offered me a job back in about '92 or '93. I had heard of DJ Paul's mix tapes but I never made the connection that it was the same Paul so when he asked why I was filing out an application at Little Ceasar's pizza, he offered me a job, working for him but since he was not much older than I was and I hadn't made the connection, I thought he was trying to be funny and offering to pimp me out (guys thought it was funny to insult young ladies like that back then) so I walked away offended. It wasn't until a year later that I made the connection.

We had to shut down after they performed tear the club up. Great time to be alive. Oh and Boo, if you read this, I'm still single so if you come threw Atlanta, I still want my movie date I promised you in 1996😂😘❤️
559 was legendary, the bounce, the gate, club nicki, jazzy t's, etc
559’ city / Grady baby shit shawdy ! You know Memphis is our sister city ! Mafia for life ! M- Town to Bankhead !! I met them at The Bounce on Bankhead! T-Rock is from the city and I assisted him his Mr. Washington story album back in ‘04!

@@jessicajefferies6979 wtf you know about the bounce🤣🤣 awe man! That was the spot after the 559 closed. You already know how that Chevron was when the bounce was open. That shit is a church now I think. I rode by there a few days ago. The 559 is a family dollar store. how times have changed!! Ain't no clubs in Atlanta like the 5 and the bounce. I'm about to tell on my age but do you remember obsessions by greenbriar? Crystal Palace of Cleveland, and the lamp post in east point? Oh oh, and the muthafu(king (gate) on Columbia drive? I miss those days! And yes, I was born at Grady, I went to Anderson elementary and graduated from Fredrick Douglas High school
559 Westside throwback...The sign still up!!
Been here in Memphis bouta year I love it but its jus disturbing seein different homicides on da news every single day
Man back in 09 I was on the bus and had a layover at the memphis greyhound. I got off the bus and asked a man where the liqour store was...it was right around the corner I went and got a little bottle and drunk it with the people back at my stop... Hey so memphis is like any other city to me.... Keep yo eyes open and move like u belong there and maybe just maybe u wont get tested...but always keep something to pass a test. No mercy.. I'm from Ohio cleveland area.. It get gutter out here too ...
Same here on that mega bus lol
Your whole hour told you errythang huh? Lol
@John Rico I welcome you to go to that same area of memphis and walk alone to the nearest store with no gun. Just go feel that darkness Ms. Gangsta Boo n DJ Paul spoke of .. U don't have to venture far into many cities to feel it.. It's right there...
Cleveland here too
@John Rico thats a good question. I was young and wild my knife and my feet was all I had at the time lol i never felt scared it was all too familiar... Plus even today i try not to rely on a gun if I gotta pull it out its going off my brain work better than a gun... Kept me out the way ... Shit one time I acted like a homeless dude out in Oklahoma i instantly seen the focus move from me to some other person bcuz I was seen as broke ... No licks this way.. Had a sack full of bread too lol ...but u is right a gun is a must at all times

Until we start recognizing the programming that we are purposely engaging in, ain't nothing going to change. The real men in the community need to stand up. But that would mean systematically wiping out of our community all of the murderous, lack of conscious folks in our community - which are legion, unfortunately. It hurts watching this as it plays out. I am trying to encourage my grands as much as I can. We are fighting an uphill battle, however now it is a war we have waged against ourselves.
As a Venezuelan chico latino she was my first black gangsta lady crush... 🥰 Rip mami
She has a very nice speaking voice...
Dope!! These interviews been 🔥🔥🔥
At this point giving birth to a child in a low income neighborhood should be considered child abuse.
U listen to hassan camp bell dont u?
@NYC No.
Has he said something similar to what I said?
Do you listen to Tommy Sotomayor? He’s like the granddaddy to all these niggas like Hassan Campbell and the Kevin Samuels.
WHT kind of baseless ass comment is this? You can't judge a person for being born in the hood nor can you ridicule anyone who doesn't have the means to move out of the hood. This is really a fucked up comment
@@joshuajackson869 I mean his point is DON’T have kids if you can’t AFFORD them. You forget having kids is a choice. It’s nothing that happens automatically. If someone CHOOSES to bring a child into a unhealthy environment that says they’re either selfish or just don’t give a damn.

Right. The interview questions that these "outsiders" ask Black rappers are so redundant and cliche. It's like they don't think that our people have enough depth to talk about much else. Like you said, it ain't jack sh** in the ghettos of Memphis that is absent from South Central LA, the Seventh Ward of New Orleans, Liberty City in Miami, Bankhead in ATL, etc. This is just another generic, recycled discussion about Any Hood, USA. It's like these white suburbanites who interview rappers have some a "rough hood" fetish. So unoriginal...
Aht aht. Some hoods ARE worse than others. Lol. The statistics speak volumes.
That nose draining
I told everyone this interview wouldn't be long lol!!!
I know one thing never trust somebody who wears sunglasses indoors
Here's the problem with Memphis...
"Whenever there are a large number of blq ppl gathered nothin good happens" - jaye Dee blaqk.
I guess “put ya sign in his face, gang sign in his face” came across the wrong way lol! When I first heard that song I was like “they are trying to get people killed! Play it again!”
This is the 1st time vlad has mentioned and promoted an artist upcoming work
Lol
Cause she kept scaring him and ran out of what to talk about lol
Need to pray over that area- it's too many black people there, alot of talented people. It could be like the next wall street if come together ❤

I'm from ms but have lived in Memphis for damn near 20yrs now. If you don't want it to come to you, don't go where it is. I only go to certain areas to shop, i only go to certain areas to hang out, i put my child in a better school.. and its inexpensive to live decently. But i agree, its dark and lovely. I'm a dark person so it suits me. I get a lot of creative energy here and i create my life based off of that.
from Mississippi stayed in Memphis twice tempting to go back in Texas now
Beautiful ain't the word to describe Memphis. Let's call it what it is...it's a blue collar town that's rough around the edges. Memphis is just unique. But it ain't beautiful.
Nope. It’s square, flat, unassuming and for fucks sake weather just goes from hot to fucking cold.

Damn
I swear boos speaking voice fucked me up the first time I heard it
Whew man, Gangsta Boo is a difficult interview. Doubt she'll be back.

Memphis is it’s own type of City, outsiders just wouldn’t understand.
They just know there’s a 200 mile radius of nothing to ride before landing in a crab bucket before you finally crawl out and take those 200 miles back out, to the biggest town within that radius which is Tupelo.
Boo was at Vlad crib?? “Boo in Calabasas”!! Mayne!!

From a born and raised Memphian.... She should know that Al Green is not from Memphis 10. He's from Arkansas. Maurice White of EARTH WIND AND FIRE.... Isaac Hayes, The Original Barkays, and the Queen of Soul believe it or not was Born in Memphis Tennessee. Lots of people ALWAYS say Elvis Presley, but unfortunately he just moved to Memphis TN and made it a stamp on the map. As for the City itself..... HATERS CAPITAL OF THE WORLD. IM FROM THERE AND I HAVE A LOVE HATE FOR MY CITY. WE HAVE NATURAL GIFTED TALENTED PEOPLE. LIKE DUDE SAID YOU CAN GO ANYWHERE AND BE A TOP DOG OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT. BUT UNFORTUNATELY THE TYPICAL TRAIT OF MEMPHIS HATERS IS ALWAYS WATCHING WHAT THE NEXT PERSON IS DOING. GO TO A CONCERT OR A GOOD OUTING, INSTEAD OF ENJOYING THEMSELVES THEY'RE TOO BUSY WATCHING YOU, AND GO TO EVENTS TO LOOK AND TALK ABOUT PEOPLE. WEIRD AS HELL. AND THEN WE HAVE THE ONES THAT'S SEEN TOO MANY RAP VIDEOS AND Gangster MOVIES. DAMN GOOD POTENTIAL TO BE A GOOD PLACE TO LIVE. UNFORTUNATELY IT'S BEEN RAN AZZ BACKWARDS EVERY SINCE THE BLACK MAYOR WILLIE HERENTON LEFT OUT OF OFFICE. WENT TO SHYT AND NOW NASHVILLE TN IS THE PLACE TO BE. NASHVILLE WAS JUST A HEE HAW AZZ CITY BACK IN THE DAY. COULDN'T HOLD A CANDLE TO MEMPHIS 10. NOT ANYMORE!!!!
