    Trent deserves all backlash he's getting at moment, I think Slot didn't have any options to replace Trent early in that game because Bradley was only back from injury and Gomez is out injured, but Trent lack of effort is shocking especially when he's meant to be our vice captain.

      I hope that's correct because leaving the ground an awful lot of people couldn't understand why Slot waited so long replacing him with Bradley & more than one person wondered did Arne bottle it, not wanting to risk upsetting Trent because of the contract nonsense. Konate started the game & he's coming back from injury. Honestly that's the first time I've heard fan's really question Slot's on field decision making process & it's all because of the f'king FSG mess with these contracts. If Madrid offer £20 million for Trent & want him now maybe Liverpool should just take it because Trent isn't doing his job & we're on the verge of derailing the season. Bradley should've come on at the latest after Salah's penalty, all through the game it was obvious Amorim had targeted our right & why Arne didn't fix it was mystifying. Unfortunately the fact is that Trent has lost the plot & throughout the game he was a liability.

      @@daibonehead I'm sorry but it's Man Utd & he's a Scouser it's personal. Normal rules don't apply Trent has to know this. If he wants to leave go tell the club, if his head isn't right go tell Arne but for God's sake you don't put the shirt on if you're even slightly checked out mentally when playing Utd.

    100% agree with your comments but as Slot pointed out in his post match comments was the Utd. followed what Forest did against us earlier in the season ( low block - long ball out to the frontmen) and a half-arsed Trent is going to do the same again ... It's that simple!! it's one thing losing possesion from a bad pass but to let Martinez walk past you and then let him have all the time in the world to pick the ball up and shoot is shocking!! If i were into my conspiracy theories, if Trent wanted to distance himself from the fans to get a move to madrid this Jan that is the game to do it in!! After the United performance I never want to see him as our club captain. That mind sound reactionary but 38 years of being a red I've never seen a scouser play United and put in that little effort. It's unforgivable to me that - no ones bigger than the club. I'd take the £20m off Madrid now and get rid. Sick to death of the effort levels he puts in. Not a patch on Carra and Gerrard.

    • @ComradeOgilvy1984
      @ComradeOgilvy1984 15 дней назад

      I have been defending him, again and again. At least in the past, when he got completely smoked by a LW once or thrice in the same game, I could point out the good things in his game and how he really was putting in a lot of effort.
      Against United, Trent's game simply felt off from the whistle, playing like I have never seen him. Is the lad injured? What is going on? Trent has always had a certain "relaxed" poise that does have to do with conserving energy. And, yes, I know sometimes "relaxed" becomes a bit too much like "sloppy". This match, Trent did not look "relaxed" or even merely "sometimes sloppy", but "lazy" was the word that came to mind. I absolutely will forgive mistakes, but I have trouble forgiving lack of effort.
      Apparently I am not the only one who thought: "You want to be captain? I will take the 20 mill, thank you."
      As I said, I have been one to defend Trent, over and over. But I did not like what I was seeing. This did not feel like merely a poor game.

    I can be cynical and overly critical of him and towards him, but we need the lad playing for his boyhood club.
    I remember reading Robbie fowler's biography when it came out. When Robbie broke into the team many years ago and he came in from training at Melwood with dirty boots and a dirty kit to find Graeme Souness and Mr Robinson sat down with a contract for this 17-year-old kid. He did not even read it. He signed and went to change.
    The back of the Mirror the next day had the headline that read something like "England's first millionaire teenager!!". I can't remember the headline. All this lad cared about was that he was playing footie and playing for his team, end of story. There's a cynical message in there somewhere for modern players if they cared to decypher it......

When Napoli thrashed us it felt like we weren’t good enough and I can accept that somewhat but not for a second did it feel like any one of our players didn’t want it enough . Everyone was playing bad but at least they were trying ……this on the other hand . Also if we aren’t going to sign a lb in this transfer window then I really do hope we recall Owen beck . I think Robinson has been more error prone that Trent this season. If Trent stays, he can work on some defensive things (no question) as he approaches the peak of his career. Robbo's race is nearly run. So if, as a fanbase if we want to be a be smart about this, get behind Trent and lift him up if he is having a bad game. Long term we will have glory days ahead and it ill be don to TAA's unique skill. A big contributing factor behind TAA bad performance, yesterday, I think, is that Szobo as out of the team, and we had very little energy on Trent's side of midfield(curtis seemed tired or was ??).... If Slot made a mistake on the subs, I don't know, I still think this is a point gained and a great wake-up call. Being an armchair quarterback is not really my thing, but TAA created the penalty opportunity. So once we went 2-1 up If Conor, Harvey and Endo came on, we probably would have more legs and won the match. That said, I don't think it's time for Slot out chants :-) It's a draw..... I hope we learn from this, and pick up the points in Nottingham.... YNWA
