3041 had an amazing Leslie 5-chime, I think this video is the best and only example on You-Tube of BN Gp38's or GP40's with a Leslie. Thanks for the killer footage!
I have, and I do quite enjoy them! Best BN videos on here by a long mile, thank you so much for sharing your killer catches, always brings a smile to my face!
Excellent collection of BN shots! I didn't recognize all locations, but saw you shot some around Barstow and what looked like up by Savanna. I used to drive up to that crossing that was right near the lookout (I think there was a boat ramp there) and catch some action back in the 90's.
@@jefftoft5568 Yeah, one of your shots had BN 9279 which is now BNSF 1456 and serves as a local unit around my area, I probably have almost 100 pictures of it, LOL. Great quality for early 90's!
Back in the day, we called the LMX units “sharks” because of the fin shaped triangle on their sides. We also called those GE b units “twinkies” just because of their shape.
They’re still around like train hunter said. You should find them roaming around or at a yard. I found a sad sight ruclips.net/video/u3EiZnsplRk/видео.html
you mississipi river route fans back in the day were fearless with nothing but track and water to choose from 6:16. Very great shots. risk for reward. i would have always been too nervous to shoot that.
@@drrockf4d Oh wow! I couldn't see it on my phone but I did on my desk top, that is crazy. You must have good eyes to pick that out of all that blur going by. Thanks for telling me about that. I am always amazed by what people pick out in my videos that I don't see. Thanks again.
There were a hundred of those leased by the BN for twenty years just like the Oakways or EMD SD60s were. They were both long term leases.@@colinthepanamerican

You are quite welcome! Hope you find and enjoy my other BN 90s videos. Thanks for watching!

It was a former Frisco loco. They used that type of horn
I can't believe how long you've been railfanning, love to see some old BN.
Go to my Galesburg playlist and you will find BN from the 90s, thanks for watching!
I just bought an N scale model of 3110 seen at 1:20 love that high vis paint scheme and the modified roadname on the side
That is a sharp looking unit, I think a friend of mine has that unit as well in N scale. Thanks for watching Drew.
Fantastic video! That ex Frisco U30B was a surprise in the first couple of shots as I believed the last of these were retired in 1992!
Thank you! I don't remember seeing to many of them. Thanks for watching!
Awesome compilation!
Thank you!

Thanks for watching, yeah I liked shooting from the look out point at The Palisades.
Thanks for documenting an sharing a peice of history. we will never see these great green trains again but atleast we can watch them on your videos
Thank you Brian I appreciate that, thanks for watching!
There are still quite a few of these green mechanics still in active service in Northern Minnesota
Awesome Trains 💯💯🤝🇺🇸😍😍😍🚅🚄🍨🎂🇺🇸😍🌬️❄️
Thank you Steven.
Love the Old Green BNSF Units. ALL Aboard. Thanks 🙏 for sharing, Jeff and Stay Safe. 👍
Thanks Ken, I loved the BN back in those days.
Back then it was just BN
Thanks so much for sharing! This is great footage.
Thanks for watching! That had been posted a while back, glad you found it.

R.I.P Burlington Norther. Wish I could've seen such beautiful trains.
They were fun to watch.
BN locos are still roaming with small patches I caught one on June 1st
They’re still around like train hunter said. You should find them roaming around or at a yard.
I found a sad sight

Apparently a few patched BN Dash 8's wound up and still work in Brazil of all places
Love the BN
I am right there with you!
The 3503 has an extremely appealing horn as well.
I like the sound of those!
Que buenos videos jeff!! gracias por compartir!! saludos desde Argentina
Thank you Javi!

Love those green and white locomotives
I do too! Thanks for watching Hunter!
Any videos of Burlington sd24s
No, sorry.
19:19 Great RS3K horn!
👍
Nice to see Leasing Locomotives and EMD Locomotives Company Too
Yes sir!
so at what year did the BN Locomotive go without any didtch lights, to 2 strobes, then alternating ditch lights.
I think the BN did strobes on their own in 1993 and the Federal government said all railroads had to have ditch lights in 1995.
Wish it was still around
Me too, it was a good road to watch.
Was those widecab sd60 equipped with alternative current (AC)?
I don’t think so, that had not been introduced yet.
In the beginning of the video that RS3L sounds beautiful
Thanks Louisiana Railfan!
NO
One quick question
Amazing
Thank you!
I miss that old green paint scheme
Yep, there are a few still roaming around.
Hey Jeff, I noticed that its nearly impossible to find a BN Dash 8 or Dash 9 from these old films. Is there a reason for this?
BN never had any, C30-7s were the only six axle GEs. Now BNSF had Dash 9s. My first BNSF painted units I saw were Dash 9s.
10:06 nobody going to mention the dude just peaking out from between the rail cars flying by?
I don’t see it
@@jefftoft5568 between the green covered hopper and blue box car, he pops out and appears to look out and tip his cap

Also why is there connecticut southern B40-8’s in the Midwest??
Never saw them, not sure what your talking about.
Those LMX standard cab dash 8’s that I saw in two parts of the video.

@@jefftoft5568 Ohhhhhh okay
What aircraft parts were in this video?
Cockpit and fuselage sections.
@@jefftoft5568 lol
1:21 Why does the front look like a CP?? Lol 😂😆😝
It was an experimental tiger stripe paint job. Only a couple units got painted like that. It was short lived.
Ohhhh okay
Bn back in it's fresh color's
You did not see many units with that paint on the front.
Nice
Thank you Nancy!
I miss the BN and glad that they merged with Santa Fe railroad and not Union Pacific
I miss both of them. I have a short BN video coming out in the morning from 1988 along with a few Amtrak out of Galesburg. Thanks for watching!
Have you seriously thought about producing a DVD?
Years ago I did.
