Great Video. I'd love to see an advanced version of a build guide, the kind that goes into theory crafting and more in-depth about min/maxing particular roles.
Only issue I have with this guide - or any such guide for either PoE game - is that they only look at attributes from a pure combat angle. It was really bad in the first game because so many dialogue options I wanted to use relied on having a good Resolve but all of the build guides talked about dumping Resolve or leaving it lower than most of these dialogue options required. EDIT: Relatedly - every good Paladin build I see for PoE2 talks about using the Bleak Walker subclass, but that railroads you into playing a cruel, aggressive bastard in the story unless you want to end up harming your Defences (pick too many benevolent or diplomatic dialogue options and the bonus from Faith & Conviction drops, wouldn’t be surprised if it becomes a penalty if you go too far). The way I play, a Darcozzi Paladini would be a much better fit and would let me get the most out of Faith & Conviction (and it’s upgraded form, Deep Faith). I guess it’s a matter of audience - I use these guides to get an idea of where I want to go but all of them are written for people who’ve either already played through the game, or who just aren’t interested in the narrative side of the game at all and are just in it to kill things and will do whatever it takes to facilitate that.
Probably to help curb the exact resolve-dumping thing I kept seeing pop up in talk for the first game. Still disappointed that nobody seems to rate the Darcozzi all that much - hotblooded smart-asses that they are. :P
@@procrastinatinggamer Yeah Darcozzi are my favourite flavor-wise too. Sadly they are definitely last in the tier list regarding power gaming. But hey, it's ultimately minor stuff on that end. Bleak Walkers are generally the best, the new Woedica Paladins are fantastic too. The others are just average in general with Darcozzi coming in last. That's not to say they won't work. Honestly that's just something you should take away from these in general though, as long as the guide isn't shouting "Dont pick this because they actively ruin your build" they're probably /fine/ if you prefer the narrative part. It's an RPG after all. Unless your particular build is very specific to that one benefit a paladin order gives you (for instance Bleak Walkers allow you to get +1 pen Acid passives, Woedica can get a whole affliction focused self heal build going), you'll be fine either way. In a similar vein, I wouldn't worry too much about the disposition aspect if you still want to power game and pick a Bleak Walker but aren't into being aggressive. The penalties aren't that big for just taking your own route. Sure, it's not entirely optimal, but by no means going to break your build.
I just catch a lot of Choice Paralysis, so I tend to use guides to get at least a starting point, if only for the Attributes. And I hate the idea of dumping any stat so it takes me an eternity (no pun intended) to find something that actually looks like something I'd enjoy using as a foundation.
Restarted because i was not happy with my roguadin, and went with Psion/blood wizard multiclass. Amazing combo, im practically casting all of the time and have unlimited resources on both classes.
Resolve is superior and very important stat! On PotD enemies have a huge accuracy, and high Resolve make u char more tanky then high Constitution, actualy. Resolve gives 2 types of defenses, and protect from most powerful debufs: dominate and fear, and over bunch of dangerous affliction. Most of wizards, priests and ciphers debufs attack Will defence. Don't forget about this.
I have a support/mostly dps warlock that is godly going through hard mode with scaling up on. I believe you can make the class you want work but some are better than others at certain things I think that’s the beauty of it. Cause those Sam people might have to just storm every building and kill everything instead of doing all the cool alternate ways and alternate fights lol😊
I invest an entire week to understand and build my character before even start. Is my favorite part, and it is a relieve to have the levling solved, you can make changes in the development of the game, but you need an horizon to aim.
@Djasko M Obviously first time I play is straight, to know the story, and continue to the end. But there are some games you fall in love just at the start, and you need to take a rest to make your build according the story.
Just starting my game and I really want to create a good character. Is it really good just to focus on 2-3 stats and leave others low like for example, lets say, 3? or what would be a good low? ... please someone help
My first char i gone directly Soul Blade + Barb multiclass, i just read that and made a simple calc. and GZUZ let's go this shit. Soul Anihilation with a 2h and Cipher passive bônus dmg + barb shit, holyshit !
Ascendant + any Monk except Helwalker would make for a very strong ranged DPS caster. Dex > Perception > Might/Intel. Dump Resolve entirely, keep Con at 10 or slightly lower. Wear light armor, go 2-handed ranged weapons (not to get hit heavily by the diminishing returns on action speed). Soul Blade + any Monk except Helwalker if you want to go for a melee DPS instead. Wear light/medium armor, go 2-handed melee because Soul Annihilation is a primary attack. Attributes wise same story as before.
Could you explain why you would go 2-handed ranged on the ascendant, in your Playthrough you said you wouldn't give Serafen a 2-handed Weapon because they are too slow? Love your videos, def. earned a new Sub here. :)
Serafen is a solo cipher or cipher/barb. In my playthrough I made him a solo cipher. For Transcendent (or Witch) you always want to use Swift Strikes/Frenzy which already give you tremendous action speed increase to the point where wearing light armor + speed buff is more than enough to make up for the slow attack speed 2-handed have.
Well the last stream I did of V2 didn't really have memorable matches to upload. The game hasn't really changed in anyway for me to cover it through new guides since, either. Once more meaningful content is added, I certainly will again.
I never said melee DPS is low tier? Berserkers, Monks, Devoted Fighters, anything with Assassin will have very strong melee DPS. I prefer it over ranged DPS, in fact. I said Beguiler is low tier, because it's easily one of the worse subclasses. If you have an assassin + beguiler, well, the beguiler kit is only lowering your total damage output by nerfing your soul whip.
Well, this one was purposely somewhat faster than usual. I get itchy when guides start running past the 20 minute mark. You could try playing it at 0.75 speed though, if it's really too fast. Or just ask away for specifics.
@@haasgaming Dude, you need to talk slower. I have seen your newer videos as well and you are just blasting off for no reason. Speak at a normal pace, and space out your words. When several people tell you the same thing, that means it needs to be fucking fixed. You will also draw more engagement to your video if you don't rush the viewer with your delivery!! Sorry to be harsh, but fix your shit.
So much misinformation and lack of knowledge. You say Mig is not as important while it is the No 1 stat for high dmg weapons. You say Dex is a must even though it benefits fast weapons/dual much less. You don't have the knowledge to make a guide and you steer players in wrong directions.
I just started this game about about a week ago but have basically played all other CRPGs made and most normal rpgs and jrpgs too as well as souls games and looter shooters/lots of WoW Classic. Researched and read about this game about two weeks before I begun it as I was finished up Divinity Original Sin 2. Of all the forums, guides, videos, and builds I’ve watched this is the ONLY one I’ve ever seen say that Hearth Orlan is bad for dps. Just because something has diminishing returns doesn’t make it bad. If something is 25% and since they don’t stack the next 25% is 15% that’s still super nice when talking about 15% more CRITS on a build focused on damage. After testing every since race for my Sage build imo Hearth Orlan is actually the best for it right behind nature godlike but I hate the appearance of those.
Is pillars of eternity 2 as blatantly satanic and antichrist as the first one? Is there a great game system like this available elsewhere that isn't created by the devil?

I feel you, in Pillars 2 it's less of an issue though since there's a ton of dialogue based on class/history.
Probably to help curb the exact resolve-dumping thing I kept seeing pop up in talk for the first game.

I don't understand the minimization of resolve. 17 deflection could easily be the difference between >134 and
Maybe it all doesnt matter due to all the bonuses you get from other stats? Idk. Im new to the game so I'll take whatever advice I can get.
In my opinion constitution is the worst stat, if I was going to build a tank I would easily go for 3 con 20 resolve

One of the best videos I've watched this year. Also, the 1st video EVER to force me to reduce its speed to 75%, because u speak so fast
right so weird. videos like this people always talk so slow and i have to speed it up 1.5. but this one is perfect i dont have to speed it up at all
Amazing content. Love your guides and reviews
Very good guide! but i had to watch at 0.75 speed :D cause I was getting dizzy at the middle of the sentences XD
I agree. It's like he said to himself, "I need to cram 40 minutes worth of explanations into 23 minutes, so I'll just talk as fast as I can".
Thats helped thank you
The quarantine is happening
And now im replaying Deadfire on PC with turnbase mode
Same here. Damn I love this game.
Edit : what are you playing as?
It seems like this guide definitely needs a turn-based update. The importance of Dexterity is certainly questionable, at the very least.
Amazing, thank you
so what u are saying is that my 20 might fire godlike wizard is not a good idea
I just made a 20 Might Human Wizard a few nights ago... Guess I'm going to restart the game lol.
When are you going to have new content, I miss it!

You deserve more viewers :)
Thank you for the guides
Ps- what class/es would you suggest for a solo/duo character run?
Subscribed good video mate can you do some solasta builds
What attributes and subclasses do you recommend for Transcendent (Monk+Cipher)?
Ascendant + any Monk except Helwalker would make for a very strong ranged DPS caster. Dex > Perception > Might/Intel. Dump Resolve entirely, keep Con at 10 or slightly lower. Wear light armor, go 2-handed ranged weapons (not to get hit heavily by the diminishing returns on action speed).

I don't think intellect should be optional for casters. since the bigger aoe is party-friendly and can really help target your spells better.
Wow, I just plugged into the matrix! Thanks
Beguiler + Ghostheart Seer is delicious.
Well done! new Sub here. thanks!
I don't even know you can move the characters roster to the middle of the screen
So you dont do vermintide 2 videos anymore?

After watching these videos I realize just how bad I suck at this game. Too much for my tiny brain to process
I don't know about this guide, lol
lol much like dnd why play a ranger when you can play a bow fighter
WTF 2 for? What about 1?
This video is 3 years old dude....grow up
@@craigtrish2011 You. Mad infantile telling anybody grow up. What a total contradiction. LMAO!
still relevant?
No, there's so many things wrong with this guide.

melee dps low tier? hahahah tell that to my dual swords assassin - beguiler
