I try to make my videos language independent, I don't think talking in portuguese would make it clear for non-portuguese speakers (or english, or japanese, or whatever language). Books don't talk and can be clear, with only small text instructions that sometimes we don't even read. Instructions are clear but origami requires attention
Btw, even copy paper works well on this model. Level indicator is kinda subjective, some people may have trouble and some people will think it's easy.

Hey Jo, I just have to say that I've used your videos for ages. It's crazy thinking that I could hardly make a crane, now I'm onto things like the Darkness Dragon! And, er, a hedgehog....Anyway, you, along Kade Chan and Tadashi Mori, are awesome. Keep making origami!

Valeu Jo Nakashima! Seus vídeos são ótimos. Qualidade muito superior aos outros tutoriais de origami que encontramos youtube. Os diagramas ali no cantinho são super convenientes, principalmente para mim que ter dificuldade em realizar as dobraduras somente com eles. Integrar ambos ajuda bastante no aprendizado.
Obrigado pelos vídeos, continue a postá-los!

Parabens, Jo! Vc tem uma habilidade e paciencia incrivel para fazer origami.
I love the sound of folding paper (instead of other videos that have annoying music or bad English). Also like the idea of different translations and the good use of easy to follow diagrams...
I'm always overwhelmed with so many small squares lol.. Bom trabalho! Amo seus videos!

All I managed to make (using very wrong paper) resembled the hedgehogs I used to see in the middle of the road during childhood ;-) Will try one day with proper paper...

You can make sandwich paper by your self, it's pretty easy. I make my own tissue foil paper and it retains the shapes and folds very well. Anyway you can use other thick papers that will work good for this model. And the level is obviously gonna be hard is you only have made cranes before.

Great tutorial, thanks for the video. Looks really nice with your paper but with mine, perharps too thin, not really cool. I found it a bit difficult (especially the head/arms part) and sometimes a bit boring because repetitive, but anyway, this origami is cute.

I really do not know what you all find so difficult at this, i mean i do origami since i've been 5 or 6 years old (now i'm 16) but i've done it and it looks beautiful i thank you Jo for that cute model ✌

this is a great video, thanks :) made it for a friend for her birthday. one minor thing though, around 15 minutes in when your folding along the precreasings on the central 2 big triangles it becomes a little difficult to see what your doing. figured it out in the end though :)

This model of a creature also resembles many lizard species such as the thorny devil.
It also resembles echidnas, porcupines, dodongos, ankylosaurs, ceratopsian dinosaurs and PANGOLINS!

  • @Stickofempires

Jo Nakashima shows things quite clearly and puts the effort into actually drawing the diagrams and you are insulting him just because you refuse to pay a tiny more bit attention? And he doesn't talk because of the multi lingual issue he has already covered. As for the difficulty, yes I suppose it does take some time but that isn't the same as it actually being difficult. All it has are mainly valley folds and reverse folds which makes it appropriate for its designated difficulty category.
