Hi Meryn, first of all, as a french guy, it was cool to hear you pronounce "deux" and "trois". So unexpected 😄 I'm thinking about a sleeper that I discovered with you when you played the selesnya exalted brew with Kiora : Sublime Archangel with all these triggers to count. That was deadly and seriously powerful as a strategy. It would be a nice return on your channel with maybe a naya version with the add of Goblin Champion for a hasty one and maybe Tempered in Solitude. Spellskite to protect the attacking creature or Sublime archangel and Silent Arbiter to annoy the opponent. Always cool to pass on your channel. - Love from France 🧡
Ok so I'm a old school metal head. But my brain spit this one out I to my coffee just as a read the name of the deck shes playing today. Winota. Brain flashes up Greater Gargadon and played Primus "Winona's Big Brown Beaver" in the background. It was a hilarious play on words. And yes I do have a vivid imagination.
GG's Winota is a busted card and it's nice to see people are playing it in Modern with some success. Some of the card choices in this list are a bit weird to me though. Thanks Maven!
I always thought Master of the Feast would be good in modern, even with the downside. A 5/5 flyer for 3 just seems so good. I also thought Vampire Nighthawk would be good in modern, but there are strictly better cards now.
I thought blood baron of vizkopa would see some play, still dont know why not. 40% of magic cards simply dont touch this creature and it doesnt die to a single bolt...
@@MerynMTG yes, it is slow indeed, when i think about building up a deck with it is aways an abzan midrange with birds and sylvan caryatid to ramp, then him, khalitas, siedge rhyno, questing beast, thoughtseize and removals

I really like Lightning Skelemental on bigger CMC burn decks, catches everyone off guard
I thought that waste not was going to be good when it previewed. I also thought monastery mentor might see some play. I was wrong on both counts.
Monastery mentor is a legacy and vintage staple... modern is a weird format...
Shining Shoal !
I still try and build modern Ghost Dad every 6 months or so.
@@1986Om3ga I must admit that I had to make a little research to see what "Ghost dad" is ha ha..

I feel like blood baron would see play if he was 4 mana. Such a hard card to beat

Modern Sleeper:
Toshiro Umezawa
Oh yeah thats a good one. My bro used to brew with that card a lot
@@MerynMTG I'm surprised he's not more used since he's basically "Lurrus for removal spells"
