So if you think about it that would explain why he vanished and why the other hiker was hiding. He could have slipped and fell and broke his neck or anything, and the unknown hiker was probably being sneaky so no rangers would spot him and give him a fine or arrest.

They suspect it is him, they have him on video dropping her car off in the Kroger parking lot. I helped search for her. Sad thing is, until they have enough evidence to get a conviction, they can't arrest him. The clock starts ticking the moment they arrest him. Think about what happened with Barry Morphew. That is the last thing her daughters need.
