Betrayal is very hard to take. It seems that when I came closer to Jesus I was betrayed more than when I was in the world. Sirach brought back memories. To err is human, to forgive is divine, indeed we have to forgive all those who betray us. Amen! ❤

As you suggested, Fr. Mike, I went back through the entirety of day! I believe what the faithful in the world is going through today could be related to and enlightened. It is near the beginning of Day 283. Mattathias saw the blasphemies were being committed. He said, “Why was I born to see the ruin of my people, the ruin of the Holy City - and to dwell there when it was given over to the enemy…” This study today is so rich on how to stand firm in our faith and how to live as God would have us to live. This can help us all now to learn how to get through and stand strong with the help of our faith and our Lord’s abundant grace! God bless!🙏

Giving to beggars has always causes me inner turmoil, I have done both, given money, and refused. I always think about the good Samaritan story, and feel so bad by not helping. I have heard the advice to give to charities and help in that way, I have also heard of people begging who roll up in a car, park around the corner, and it becomes their job because it can be lucrative. There just seems no easy answer to it, I guess giving to food banks and responding to charity appeals goes someway to doing our bit. However when I am confronted by a needy person in the street, I feel inadequate to deal with them.
Hello! Replying several months later. The best thing you can give to a person in material need is to recognize their humanity. Even if you cannot give them anything, simply asking their name and saying hello can go a long way. These people have often not heard their name said to them in ages and they are invisible to the world. You never know that simply recognizing the goodness of their existence what that will do for their day. It also keeps us humble by recognizing we ourselves are not infinite and cannot completely provide...that alone is up to God.
I really enjoyed this reading and I think the messages from a father to his son or daughter should be presented to all children when they are able to understand these precepts for everyday life before they become corrupted by the world.

Amen. In her account of another vision, St. Faustina describes Purgatory as a "great crowd of suffering souls" undergoing purification. Further, she says that the souls are "praying fervently, but to no avail, for themselves; only we can come to their aid" (Diary, 20) Father I need your grace again because I am not the witness I want to be.
I don't and won't help people begging on a corner here where I live. That's their job and a lot of them drive cars nicer than me. I just donate food to my church and they give it to homeless and church members that need help.
