You are the Light

I wrote this song many years ago for someone I knew who was in a very dark place in life -- battling anorexia in hospital. I wrote it for her and her parents.
These coronavirus days are a time of darkness for many people and I thought it might be a good time to share it more broadly.
YOU ARE THE LIGHT
Jesus, you are the Light of the World
The light that shines in the dark
The darkness has not overcome you
Jesus, you are the Light of the World

The darkness shall not overcome you
There's nothing you cannot penetrate
And nowhere you cannot shine love into
Jesus, the darkness shall not overcome
And there's no depth you cannot reach
There's no despair you cannot shine hope into
Jesus, the darkness shall not overcome
He's the light by your side
He's the light at the end of the tunnel
And darkness will be destroyed
By the brightness of His coming
In your darkest hour, you shone so bright
