@@steampunksilver Apparently, Melissa from the red team screwed up the duck dish so bad. There was no time management among those ladies in that challenge.
@@shivramkarthik2882 iirc, she insisted on using duck despite concerns with time management. After it was cut she left it in the oven to keep warm, which overcooked it. And because of the lack of time management, they couldn't get any sides or garnish on the plate.

You have to give Rock serious props for being able to keep a straight face while explaining his dish, knowing he'd already won the round (and thereby the challenge) before the couple had even tasted anything.

at that point, he wasn't telling her to describe the dish.
He was telling her to give a reason why he shouldn't kick her out on the spot.
I love" I can't yell, I can't cry" line😄. But to tell you the truth, he is actually right. Better for him to get his act together and start preparing a proper dish than doing a nonsense drama over himself.

Melissa in season 3 pissed me off. She thought that just because chef Ramsay gave her ONE compliment that she was the team leader and could do no wrong. Then she goes and overcooks the duck and blames her team, and even tried to disobey Chef
She was basically little Mrs sabotage. Was very glad to see her booted off the show

Later in the dinner service, she ruined the team Sabayon (A sauce for egg yolk) because she accidentally dropped it to the sink and tried to get The Blue Team's Sabayon instead. Chef Ramsay caught her up and called her for sabotaging her team.

It’s funny how, with the overcooked duck in the wedding challenge, they just decided to Chuck it on a plate with no garnish or anything to speak of. It’s like they thought:

“It doesn’t matter! The dish is screwed! Just get it on the plate!”

Does anyone know the context for Melissa’s standalone duck breast? Been wondering how they ended up with that as their meat dish each time the clip shows up.
From what I've gathered on the hells kitchen wiki, Melissa took a dictator role during the task. She for ed the women to use duck despite the time constraints, and kept it in the oven to stay warm which overcooked it. She then refused responsibility for it and suggested that they show only the first two dishes. Hope that helps (on the wiki its season 3 ep 5)

I feel for the guy who tried to genuinely comfort Heather after she was ruthlessly scolded by Gordon, and got a cold response like that. As much as I understand her not wanting to interact at that moment, she could’ve appreciated the gesture a little more - it’s a rare sight on this show that’s full off arrogant pompous self-interested people that think they’re the best and take every opportunity to kick their competitors while they’re down. Kudos to him for being a nice guy and good teammate trying to encourage his colleague.

I was so surprised at Gordon's lack of reaction and emotion to Jen's duck breast the first time I saw the episode. And wondered what would have been done had the prime rib not tasted good either.
I think that the sight of the duck his brain shortcircuited and his soul went wandering for a few sections and it took him a while to get his bearings back.
