Those older Cr 500 two stroke can climb any mountain. Just open er up and hold on tight. What a beast. Bore out and a few tricks to get over 100 HP and that's crazy on a dirt bike
There's no way you can beat that torque especially when you could ride like this guy totally is in tune with his bike he lets the engine do the work and he just dances with it
@@bones6554 yeah I don’t do any hard riding. Especially because I’m in NY and all the tracks and stuff are far, so I do basically putt around. If I had some fields and shit I would be going way harder but I also wanna take the time to get used to a big bike. I’ve been on pittys my whole life
Cr500 are no joke... I was privileged to have been taught on one back in the day.... The compression on them bad boys are crazy & if your not ready for it you can really hurt your self when trying to kick start them 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
@Jacob Schmitz That's absolutely not correct. Modern 450 figures are quoted from the crank most of the time to make them look better. Most 450s are around 47 to 54 HP. CR500s are 56 plus rear wheel HP. The CR500 also makes more torque and makes this torque at lower RPMs than a 450 makes peak torque.
@Jacob Schmitz I just picked up a 2021 Yam 450 and I love it. I also have some CR500s and Service Honda 500AFs. Had a 250sx KTM a couple of months ago.
@@mxcoolman Yes. Chassis and suspension are the things that make motocross bikes go fast. You are correct. Riding on flat surfaces are meant for something else than a motocross bike. You are right on the money.
@@dirtbikemaniac6296 I can’t remember what I mean by that comment. But having fun is what it’s all about and ripping a big 500 up a dune must be fun. Edit: ohh now I remember, the pictures at the end it looks like he’s sitting down mid air.
Yah. I had an '89 CR500 polished ported , head shaved , 42 flatside Mikuni , reeds n reed cage , and DG pipe n silencer. That bike was a beast !! I'd go past Banshee's 4th gear on a wheelie going up boxcar with my daughters Mother on the back. Man that was a fun bike !!!! Sure do miss that thing !!
I remember my dad telling me stories of him and his buddies in glamis all having cr500’s and there was this giant hill called “Honda Hill” cause the only bike that could make it to the top was the cr500.
KX500 . The Maico 700 was only good on paper. It was underdeveloped. That's why you don't see them flexing their muscles on U-tube. Too many cc's, too little power .

100hp loooooooool
100 hp only with nitro hillclimb engine
Had me 1997 for 20 years. Takes a few years to get used to the “Hit”, But after that, they’re
Great all around scooters..!
? 500s are in beast mode basically of idle. Mine is anyway
Disappearing in a cloud of dust. The mighty CR
This is where you can use all the power at on this bike only thing that might be better is a maco 700
Maico
Check my vid 🤪💪🏼
New 450 wil eat this for breakfast
@@weallhavephases Just keep dreaming boy that 60hp will eat over 82 hp
Those motors were perfect for that with the massive mid-range torque.
Hope I get the chance to ride one someday 2stroke gang💯

Love this video. I have a 94 CR500 that I bought back in 1996. I will never get rid of it!
Keep it forever man! I’ll keep the videos rolling👍🏼
Good choice because cr500 are beasts
Had one but sold it long time ago. Only issue was vibration. No counter balancer.
Keep it forever! Got 2 kx500's I'll never sell. I'd never be able to replace em.
When dirt bikes were not asthmatic toys. 💪🏻😎👍🏻
I mean you can still get hurt on a 126 just as much, just a little harder. I’ve only laid my 125 down like 2 or 3 times since I got it
@@stevenlee1075 Either you putt around in the yard or don't ride very much. I crash at least two or three times every time i ride.🤕

Hhahaha yup! Blew a hole straight through my boot on one of my 500’s last year! Insane.
500 in it's element......no modern 450 can run with that! Nice riding!
That's just a fantasy. Modern 450 out runs all the old 500 two strokes. That's just a fact. I still rather ride a 2t today.
@@nomad667 around a motocross track maybe, because of the chassis and suspension.... but not in the power department or up dunes! 500 has the edge!

CR500 only knows one thing, destroy all
Looks like a blast! I beat on trees here in Alabama sure hope I get to ride in the dunes someday.
Dune riding is amazing! No other feeling like it.
Even when this guy jumps he’s still sitting down.
Total control😏 just let the 500 do all the work

I had an '87. You could upshift climbing a sand dune with that thing. Also had a 2001. I preferred the '87.

Best way to contain the 500 beast is, let it do the job for you, if you try to fight it, that’s when it will throw you on the ground.
Brutal !!!! ✊🏻✊🏻✊🏻
Run at 1.50 hardly even seated the rings. Awesome.
Awesome 😎
Dang good cr500 video
Be sure to check out my other CR500 videos too!!
I'd like 2 know where this is at ??
🔥🔥🔥🔥
Nice Fork upgrade. What’d you use?
Of course he did, it's a 500 with a paddle.
We’re is this?
Perfect place for this bike to stretch its legs
How well does the tpi300 2t bikes do on that hill?
It’d be a tough climb on a 300tpi. Could be done with the right rider though👍🏼
How good do you have to be to do that?
Going up that hill dont look so big. coming down you know it is.

Where is this, if I may ask...
Jamacia
The CR500R or KX500 are the best and worst bikes in the dunes. They have loads of power but are heavy and are hard to kick.
Easy! CR pwr!!!!
Rip the plugs
Ain't a 125. Kinda just their sound
Can i climb it on my cr125😂
Yeah for sure you can easy
Tiny little hill. A Chinese 125 pitbike would get up with ease!

You?
