- Sorry for immediately starting off with the clip where Sora screams Very loudly 😅 Don't worry, it's the only loud clip here. Very thankful for Dollip's wonderful work with the speech bubble editing. I mostly left them without additional subtitles, except for a few times (usually when Baaulp was speaking) where I felt like I could add something to communicate a specific line delivery that might otherwise get lost in transcription. The speech bubbles saved me quite some time, meaning despite this video being 25 minutes long I managed to finish the captions relatively quickly! I'm actually rather proud of them, I feel like I did a better job than usual at capturing the essence of what was spoken.

I'm so happy that Scorpy played this game before the fandub. I think Scorpy is the only person to fuck up the gummi ship to the point of making it fly sideways, it's so fucking funny.
@JogVodkaI looked through a highlight reel of his KH1 playthrough and I couldn't find it. I desperately want to know how you could mess up that badly (I say like I didn't build my first gummi ship facing backwards). Do you have a timestamp I could go to in a specific video?
Edit: found it. He discovered a rotation tool I didn't even think existed. I had to rebuild my ship facing the right way by hand

Been playing kingdom hearts 1 because of this dub and it’s been really difficult because I constantly have a compilation like this in my head and it has been very hard to actually pay attention to the dialogue when all I can think about is “GENIE I WANT 50 DOLLARS” instead.

Learning the lore behind so many of the jokes makes me appreciate them a lot more than my first round of watching the episodes. It's a very magical collaboration between two groups with their own insane lore and inside jokes that the behind-the-scenes stream was so magical just from hearing them have to explain to the other group what they were talking about

Okay wtf how are the text bubbles done. At first I thought they were scripted but there's at least one or two cases where a speech bubble appeared in response to some improved joke.
They used a mod to remove the text from the bubbles and then edited the improv dialogue into the boxes after the dub recording.

Good question, honestly. He was one of those characters who had to grow on me first & it was only when I already finished editing the video and began subtitling it that I realised "ah, I could've included this and that quote by Clayton. They were actually pretty funny. Oh well."
Can someone explain the blocks joke I dont get it :(
Personally as someone who never played the original game, what originally made the joke funny to me was that it was a seemingly nonsensical remark that came completely out of the blue. Like it was funny because why are you suddenly talking about ships and why are they made of blocks. This has nothing to do with the conversation you were having with this kid up until now.
Though iirc Scorpy's impression of Cid is supposed to be taking a dig at an in-game feature that's awful to deal with but (nearly) inescapable. I think it's about building the space ship that the main trio is always travelling in?... And This Fucking Guy (Cid) keeps showing up to remind you of it. So the blocks jokes are part of the parody aspect of Cid's character. I could easily be getting things mixed up though.
@greetingthecatalyst Yeah, it's exactly what you said. Cid is your gummi ship vendor in the game and he also installs a few other things important for the gummi ship. I distinctively remember Scorpy managing to fuck up his gummi ship accidentally to the point that he made the ship fly in the wrong direction it was really funny
