Suggestion : maybe move the dresser into the bedroom space and swap with the shelves... shelves are more office-y.. and this way you'll have a nice backdrop at your desk. The apartment looks great.

They are at the top of my hall closet as we speak. I have no idea what is in them. I don't think I am missing anything. Part of me wants to just get rid of them. I have lived without the contents for over 10 years, can't be anything important. 😢
My advice is to take advantage of all that ceiling height. You had those floating shelves in your old bedroom which would be great above your desk. You could put wall mounted shelves or a picture rail at the foot of your bed too...

The main reason I had to do it is because I’m Canadian, so when I first moved to the city I didn’t have an American credit score so no one would rent to me. I was going from one illegal sublet to another. Finally built up my credit score though and got my own place but it was such a struggle. NYC is TOUGH
Mount your mirror behind bedroom door by the closet. I’d also take the wood shelf out of closet. Or make the third room office for both of you. Looks great otherwise and so stressful
I would mount the mirror on the wall behind your bedroom door. It would help to make the room feel larger and bring some light that direction reflecting from the windows. I would also move your dresser where you currently have the mirror standing and just add a small mirror above it. Then you can put the tall shelf where your dresser is currently sitting. That way you can use it for any office type items on the lower shelves and decor on the upper ones. Your desk would actually be nice on the wall by the end of your bed then you could watch tv on your monitor easily from your bed as well, but I see the baseboard heat is there so may not be a good idea. It is all looking good. You will get a flow figured out once you live in it for a bit.
I hope your apartment management sends someone to repair your light and water pressure soon. I know you said you were having some issues with them but the light seems like an electrical fire hazard!😭 we had poor water pressure in one of our sinks in our house for years and when we were selling it showed up on the home inspection as something to repair. a plumber replaced the aerator on the faucet in like 5 seconds and it was so much better. then we moved out, so I hope the new owners appreciate that haha. hope this helps you too!
You are doing a great job! One suggestion, try putting the small dresser with 3 drawers on the side of your bed by the window. It is wasted space anyway and you wouldn't have everything on one wall. Just a thought. Anne

You should do floor to ceiling curtains separating your bed from the office. It would look so cute with them draped tot he side and then if you want to break up the visual of the office and be in a cocoon of cozy, you could close the curtains. Kind of like a canopy bed!

I feel like your room looks really cute but a little busy and it can get claustrophobic really fast as soon as you start actually living in it! Also, don't stress too much about where things go! When you start living in your space and have a routine you can always switch things around! 💓

Manically searching for an already unpacked microwave to heat the chicken parm just about sums up the stress of moving! The new place is coming together so well, it's going to be fabulous. Maybe keep as few bits of furniture as possible in your bedroom and play furniture Tetris the spare room where you'll hang out less. You'll work it out and calm will be restored. Hope Bennett is settling well.

It was really a smooth process! They rocked. I also LOOOVE you new bedroom. The bed against the wall 10/10. What I did not like was the new ikea storage. Maybe you should return it. I don’t think will help with actual storage and it’s bulky. Maybe something different in that wall continuous to the bed…. But I can’t wait to see the rest of the apt. Putting the bed up against the windows was definitely the right move. It opens the space SO much.

Sometimes getting a new shower head helps with the water pressure, it helped me a lot the last time I moved! I think the old one was all calcified.
funnily enough the water pressure got bad after i put a new shower head on! putting the old one back on is what helped

Get a beamer instead of a TV! I have that in my bedroom and its perfect for cozy movie nights.

An armoire would hold so many clothes. You could eliminate so many tiny dressers and pieces of furniture. Put it on the wall outside of your closet.
