Why is it so hard for companies to complete a team? I think Marvel Legends has sort of completed the Jim Lee X-Men but maybe not if you consider that they switch between styles (cell-shaded, comic book, animated series, etc.). I hope both Mondo and Mafex can complete their respective teams

@@NostalgiaUnboxed Mafex smartly got in front of '97 by re-releasing their existing X-Men, but yeah, they need to get Rogue out ASAP (nothing Mafex does is ASAP). They are pretty much only three figures away from completing the Jim Lee team: Rogue, Beast, Jubilee

I love this figure, but it really showcases what a challenge it is to translate Gambit's coat to a functional figure form. I think the static plastic coats always look the best, but they severely restrict the posability. Soft goods-wise, I think the original Toy Biz Marvel Legends Gambit had the best looking coat, but it was still kind of limited in what you could achieve without a wire. And then there's another Gambit out there (Revoltech, maybe?) where the coat is hard plastic with multiple points of articulation. On that one, you can get some really great-looking action poses, but the coat doesn't look great in a neutral pose.
I don't know where I was going with all that... but I'm REALLY looking forward to getting the Mondo version (with Rogue) in a couple months.
I, too, got Gambit and Rogue. Very excited! Revoltech is a brand that never looks good just standing there, but can look awesome in a pose haha
I should add that BBTS has this guy up for pre-order currently. $89.99. Says it should ship in June. For anyone that needs/wants one.

@@NostalgiaUnboxed if we are talking definitive takes on the character I think the brown suit is really good just as this gambit is. Though I would also agree gambit is the best of the two, more so meant to say that this guy and brown suit are the creme of the crop.

I love the union of the shoulders with the body. something that wasn't very elegant on the Toy Biz figure. I almost bought it but by watching videos like this you avoid making mistakes.

I love the accessories and the articulation of this figure. I prefer the Mezco Gambit headsculpt. If i could kitbash the 2, that would be my ideal Gambit.

hasbro could easily make the trenchcoat (not jacket) movable by just adding 2 balljoints into the lower part like a skirt, yes it would break the shape but its an ACTION figure

I had this figure on pre-order from bbts but they ended up getting it in sooner and I wasn't able to get the money together in time before they cancelled my order.

Feels unfair to compare it to Marvel Legends, when that's a twenty-five dollar figure -- and for close to a hundred dollars, the Mafex better be a much better figure lol
Also, if we're comparing, the fact that Legends has designs on the cards while the ninety-plus dollar figure doesn't is extremely frustrating. Great figure and great review overall, but honestly, I'm still very happy with my ToyBiz figure, the soft goods hide the janky articulation and joints , plus he still poses very well and has paint just as good as Mafex's.
