it's important because the solution also provides desired metals ion to the metal placed at cathode (metal to be be electroplated) because the ions are getting deposited to the metal to be electroplated and the desired metal cannot provide all the ions (because the no. of ions keep declining with the deposition) therefore, the solution keeps a regular supply of desired metals ion
