Hood has normal AP now with better pen angles than normal (30 degrees instead of 45 degrees) But it could do with the same accuracy as Warspite and Vanguard to be a contender
I guess I am a strange operator of the Hood and it is an underwhelming beast. Well one of the things to know is that when it comes to range, the AP is crap... You better stuff HE in those barrels and not fire a volley spam. The reason is that firing sequentially will also help make the RNG work a bit in your favor and get into the pattern of it. But yes, HE will be the primary round you fire until somebody dares to get close, that is when you can punish them with the AP rounds and may get some citadels.
Makes me sad that so many people sold their Ark Betas. It's a hilariously fun ship when spec'd for secondaries...and there's no longer any T5 carriers to torpedo you into orbit.
The Hood is one of the top T7 BB's at the moment for WR, damage and survivability. It isn't very satisfying to play but many folk are getting good results.
Buff both the accuracy and the pen to Warspite's... The AP is horribly weak and 8x 381mm is just not sufficient at Tier VII to work with RN HE spam (which is also boring anyway).

This ship really needs a gun buff. Either improve the sigma values to get more shells on target or increase the penetration, maybe to even higher than Warspite's guns. Because this ship lacks so much threat. When it gets up-tiered, it's not even relevant unless it gets the chance to use the gimmick DAA. Honestly, players are paying a lot for a ship that just struggles to put numbers on the board. Look at the competition. German BB's get crap dispersion but when they hit, they have better pen. Japanese battleships just have so many guns that they're statistically far more likely to hit their targets. French BB's have ungodly gun handling. American BB's have more guns, better pen, and are fairly accurate. Other British BB's have good to excellent accuracy and hard-hitting guns (even the lower caliber 14-inch rifles of King George V). So why not buff at least one aspect? Give us something aside from a DAA gimmick.
In name only, i hit and sink things with the Warspite, in the Hood i feel lucky to just hit things. as you saw from the video the dispersion is all over the place, the number of times i fire a perfect salvo and end up with just water spouts as i straddle the target. I don't regret getting the Hood, i'm British and she's special, but i would not object to some stat tweaking lol.
difference in guns: Warspite sigma 2.0 (so higher chance of shells being in the mid) Hood sigma 1.8 Warspite Krupp value 2330 Hood Krupp value 2190 (so worse penetration) Warpite detonation timer 0.033s Hood detonation timer 0.015s (like the other british battleships) other then that, Hood has better autobounce functions, Warspite has standard while Hood has the USN 8inch function (straight up better)

Though the Hood still got better speed and AA i feel its just "meh". Last game i had problems with penning a broadside Colorado, while he wrecked my front, so i ended it all with just ramming him.
The Hood model on warships is so bad first off she was a battlecruiser she also had torps the detonation on the Hood was from the forward torpedo storage. WG gave torps to the German T7 battleships but not to the Hood I would rather see this at t6 and the Warspite at T7 she is a far better ship the sigma and pen of her guns put the Hood to shame.

and of course the GM who refuses to scout is top on the scoreboard and has rank 1. this game is frustrating to play but fun to watch others play

Arkansas Beta is a very good ship because it gets all the modules from tier 1 to 10 and with the -11% dispersion it just reckys evrything.

I think they have different values for the AP detonation time so they detonate earlier than the warspites and also the penetration value is lower
They're much worse. Lower penetration, krupp values, accuracy and a shorter fuse.
