Two days later the statement was already true. The problem also is that they inpose penalties. Kung wala yon, ok lang, then people will not when something is tue or false and an open debate about it can be conducted. But fact checking Fb style TERMINATES a discussion. No appeals. So you see, the damage is greater than the one sought to be prevented.
Furthermore, why is the onus on the reader when it should be on the person POSTING? Fact checkers penalize even those who SHARE. How is that fair? Sa libel laws nga natin mere sharing is not penalized.
Everyone has the freedom of thought, belief, opinion and expression, which includes the internet & social media, freedom of the press and other media of communication. I believes that social media freedom remains an important part of democratic societies.
