@jay3782 I was about to say that it’s his take on Enzo that is shocking. No one played well for us last season apart from Enzo when he came. I’d argue Palmer, Enzo, Badiashile, Sterling would be my top 4. Sterling should be doing more for us, I do think Enzo needs to improve his shooting though

You cant judge Enzo and Cole Plamer by g/a. they bring so much more to the team. chances created/pass completion/ball retention/ball recovery/dribbles completed. Even these stats wont do them justice, you gotta watch them play to fully understand the impact they have on a struggling side.
definitely best signings under their new ownership. and both young with plenty of years to improve...
(Lavia and/ Caicedo added into that midfield has the potential to be very special, if they perform that is)
Hopefully Poch sees past the Gallagher hype by time Nkunku and Lavia are both fit.

Miles' comments on Enzo are making me lose my head. When Enzo is on the pitch, EVERYTHING goes through him. He's got the entire team on his back the whole game and he's one of the most press proof players I've seen in years. There is absolutely no way Miles has actually ever watched Enzo for a full game otherwise he'd have him number one. There's so much more to having an impact in a game than scoring or assisting. He's an unparalleled talent in modern football in his position (except for maybe someone like bellingham)

Luka modric has been the best midfielder in the world for the last 10 years and averaged less than 5 goal contributions a season in la liga in his first few seasons at Madrid. Even look at players like xavi/pirlo or even someone like xabi alonso in their first seasons and they have similar outputs in drastically better teams. Deep midfield is not about getting goals and assists, it’s about controlling the pace of the game and enabling other players to get into dangerous positions. You people have absolutely no grace

@@thestrika he carries the team because he’s consistently one of if not THE best player on the pitch for us. If he’s not there we do next to nothing. And there’s been plenty times where modric has carried that Madrid team even with the quality they had. A better comparison would even be modric for Croatia, a gem of a player surrounded by players nowhere near as good as him. But he puts in important performances to make the WHOLE team better. The overall point is that you don’t need to be scoring goals and getting assist to be an incredibly important player. There isn’t a single Chelsea fan who won’t agree that Enzo has been our best player, and that’s what matters. We watch our team week in week out, you do not.

Problem with some of this is they're trying to compare our players to a higher standard than where the team collectively is. Our G/A numbers in general are terrible. So saying players like Palmer, Raz or Enzo are bad because of their G/A numbers is pointless. You have to look at the parts of the game that we are actually doing well and judge based of that. Palmer and Enzo by far our most important players in that regard.
