A good fair review. I enjoyed seeing a video professional creating a demo project. I have CreateStudio (since launch) - and agree with both the pros & cons that you identified. The CS team are pretty activity in their FB group, and are constantly evolving both the character sets, as well as the series of How To videos on their YT channel.
I see a few viewers mentioning the lack of characters in the base version (which I have). The (new) Store allows me to selectively add characters - which is cheaper right now for me than the monthly All Access path, as I don't create that many videos.

Thanks again for such a great unbiased review. I went ahead got the product for $67 and I pay the monthly $37 subscription rate. This rate works for our budget and if I don't find that we're using it to it's full benefit, we can cancel the subscription and I'll still have the product to use (without new updates).
You don’t get the updates??
I only use the TTS as a placeholder until I can import my professional voiceover into the project. Very nice overview of this product.

I do have a question about Create Studio though; does this program have the same doodling features for assets other than text that Doodly has, which I can incorporate into my projects?
This is an excellent review Jenn, and I will definitely be checking out your other reviews. I have bought several other programs and asked for a refund because they have very little customization abilities, which I need. So this review was extremely helpful. My only question would be about text transitions (how they appear and disappear on the stage). Are those included in the basic and pro versions, or do I have to pay the $37/month for those?

Excellent review. I have a few of these explainer video softwares but, I’m looking for something a little more professional which this product seems to offer. But, as you mentioned, the limited characters and graphics that comes with it concerns me.

Hi Jenn, I want to do a talk show sort of thing, think John Oliver, do you think this would work? I love the 3D characters but I notice they don't follow the speech. I have created in Final Cut a bit and also have produced music in Ableton for 6 years so the interface looks pretty friendly, just don't know about my talk show idea. Is there a platform you would suggest for such a thing if Create Studio is not what you think would work? Thank you for this very descriptive review, very helpful!

I really like how you do reviews. Thanks for this. So far I've been using invideo, mostly due to your recommendation. It's been working out for me. Now, I'm looking into animation as well.
I'm torn about buying or not buying. I like doing thing diy for my own content but have had to contract various animation videos for explainers, how tos, and commercial type videos. Unfortunately most arent the best. MY question is for small business owners out there that have purchased this. Is it worth it even with the monthly cost? Is it fairly easy to use? Would love to get everyone's thoughts good and bad.

There’s only one version. I did buy it at $67 but in order to get some characters, templates and features, they have a subscription at $37/month. Have it for 3 months now and the updates have been major. Worth every penny.

We do not have any limits for video duration, but of course longer videos take more time to render. We do not have lip sync feature...

Thanks for the review. You are very helpful on the products you review. I do appreciate that. Being new to this I am torn between Create Studio and Toonly. I like the 3d characters and the versatility with create studio but no lip sync. That's the main thing I like about toonly. So I am very undecided on which way to go. Thoughts? I know it is a very subjective question.

Don't know if you've made a decision yet, but Toonly is having a promotional offer now, a 1 time pay, lifetime subscription for $67 for standard, $164 for enterprise. No monthly or yearly costs. The deal sounded too good to be true but after research it seemed legit. Ordered today and was playing around with it.

Hi jenn does create studio has child voices?
This was a fantastic review, it was seriously more like a how to tutorial. BUT, I really wish you would have reviewed the Standard Package as it only provides 8 Free 3D Characters and 20 Free 2D Characters and extra characters are $27 each, so that adds up quickly. Is it still worth it? I don't know, but it looks amazing.

Does 67$ provide every features?
I'm really disappointed that the highest resolution is 1080p.
They really should offer 1440p60 and 2160 4K.
We are coming into the Era of 8k. They need to launch a product that's up with current times.
They've made quite a few updates to the software and support custom resolutions now.
Plus now a Camera which is very easy to use. It has been quite frustrating waiting for certain features, but it looks like they've been progressing.
It's current limitations prevent it from being my main editor, however I do use it often if I've needed to make a quick lyric video within a few hours, or make parralax effects.

Thanks Jen! I bought the basic starter package last month and have just completed my first 90 second piece for our company. I do have Adobe Creative Suite but the learning curve is too high, and the Powerpoint-like simplicity and certainly the 3D characters swung the decision for me to have something I could get into quick and produce something reasonably professional. Realistically, I don't expect tons of characters and scenes to be relevant for our business and this month CS added "Store" to the application so you can purchase additional characters and backgrounds, which increases my options. Your video is a great overview I can share with my colleagues to inspire them what we can do now - Thanks again x

The software is still fantastic, I can not fault it, I bought it to play around with and love it, (I'm NOT affiliated at all) but it only includes 8 x 3D characters.
You have to buy more at $27 each or $299/year for all access.

great review ... as always... I have a lifetime pro subscription to inVideo would Create Studio add anything for me? I agree with you that the text to speech quality with Create Studio is unacceptable in today's market. I have been looking at some text to speech tools. I have VoiceBuddy and VoicePal Delux but I have been thinking about getting Speechhelo instead. Then the other day I found Synthesys and even though their voices are only for English the voices are so unbelievably real that I am torn between them. Do you think the $497 is a reasonable cost for unlimited credits with Synthesys...or is Speechhelo a better deal ... or should I just stick with my Vocebuddy/VoicePal tools?
There is one called Talkia going for $67 that you can research about. I haven't used it but saw it as an ad on Facebook for creating lifelike voice overs.

Im recording a green screen video of myself and adding it along with animation...in this case, if i have few parts of my green screen video which i dont need can i cut them in create studio timeline
I think this is premium version. I bought life time $67 don't have BGM and 3D character she uses one I need purchase. BGM I can import no problem, but white bode also looks like I have to upgrade, its shame.... still I think better than Tooney.
So One of the things you say is that there are not so many different elements in this tool...

I've Only Tried Doodly and The Free Version of Videoscribe... Ditched Videoscribe in the end...

can we make voice with it also? Like if I enter a text it reads it out like in human voice?
@@ArmanViews It does have text to voice but regardless of the company, I'm not a general fan of that. Some sound better than others. My go to is always a human voice.
