Common squat mistake is squatting and running shoes
amen
What shoes are appropriate ? I don't want to wear special shoes.
@@alejandroperez5368 Squat barefoot, slowly get used it.
@@alejandroperez5368 flat
@@alejandroperez5368 flat soles
That's why we see all the influencers wearing converse
The main reason for buttwink is the torso-legs proportions.
If you got longer legs, widen your stance
@@waluigihentailover6926 Couple of days ago I tried one rep max and while going up my back rolled up and I felt laser sharp pain in the lower spine, my mistake was keeping the stance narrow compared to the last set where I was able to do it easily without any pressure on lower back. Now when I move I feel my lower spine, even tho it doesn’t hurt but I am scared if it will get any worse
Yep I’m 6 ft 3 with long legs and wide stance is way more comfortable
Placing my heels on some plates to raise the heels has helped me greatly
This or powerlifting shoes also help
@@schwartz_a1564 WHY BUY SHOES WHEN THE WEIGHTS ARE THERE FOR FREE
@@CHATOMARTINEZ93 Real reason is if you want to lift competitively you're not allowed to use weights under your heels. Another reason is that it might just be more convenient if you are at a crowded gym where plates are hard to come by. But definitely using the weights is a good option if you are looking to save money
@@schwartz_a1564 that high heel shoes is allowed in competition??( Just curious)
@@pradeepbanjan9927 Yeah for powerlifting competitions at least. What I found online is that as long as the heel is less than 5cm they are legal
Omg I’ve been doing this so much better now, thank you!!! I had no idea why my lower back felt pinched until I saw this.
I struggle with fixing this so much. I'm gonna work on my hip mobility and hope to God that it fixes. Even with a pretty wide stance, it still happens at the bottom and I like squatting below parallel
Update, my butt wink has gotten a lot better. With working on my hip mobility and squatting into my hips. Posted a short of me squatting if anyone wants to see where I'm at.
@@NickJJH14nope nobody cares
@@meatballsguch obviously you do by wasting your time replying to a comment
@@NickJJH14mate, incorporating L-sit pull ups helped me a lot on achieving atg depth because of the hip flexor being trained (I think it's the psosas that acts as a "butt extender", preventing butt wink.
I hope it helps, because I think it was the last step missing for me :)
It also happens to almost Everyone who is taller than 5' 4
Yeah… nothing to worry about
What?!
Almost everyone who is taller than 5'4 with poor flexibility*
Look up at the ceiling when you squat. You’ll never round your back again
That’s because you’ll be confined to a wheelchair for the rest of your life
Why@@ohnofishfry
@@deveshgarg7974over extension of back is just as injury prone as overly flexioned
People, don't do this...
@cristian9365 wdym he ultimately made his back as straight as possible thats what he's doing nothing wrong with looking up you do the same thing when you're on lat pull down cable rows etc😂 tf
Theres a move called "Hello sunshine" and ultimately making an individual roll there hips back creating a small arch which allows you to not have to deal with lower back pains
Ha!! I know exactly what you're talking about! My weightlifting coach in college called them "Good Mornings". Pretty close to your "Hello Sunshine, don't u think?! 😄
I still can't do this exercise right.. I either go only halfway down or go way low that I can't stand up again 😕
Work your way up with no weight at first
This channel is awesome 💪
Please make playlist for training the specific body part exercise
I think the fixes nail it
2 works for me, still squats below parallel and it works.
Stretching hip flexors also helps a lot
Thanks 👍
Thank you this helps so much!!
Really tense the upper glute/lower back and flex it in the opposite direction like holding the ‘up’ portion of a twerk so the wink has nowhere to form
I found about this too late. Thanks
Amazing tips
There no evidence to support that “butt wink” leads to injury
I mean it’d be difficult to ‘study’ something like that in a way that would provide ‘evidence’, but...look at it and make your own judgement
Thanku.
🙃
I’ve also heard that this happens due to tight hamstrings
Your hamstring isn't really stretched in the squat
@@SinnedNogaraI've heard that it stills kinda pulls your butt, idk why considering what you said
@@cristian9365maybe the outside muscles of the hamstrings that are connected to the butt
a weight or squat shoes instantly fixes the problem
A buttwink does not necessarily cause injury. While it may be indicative of some underlying mobility issue, there are plenty of athletes, top athletes who squat with a buttwink with no issues. Get your info straight please
Is it mate? I squat deep with good not so heavy weights. I tend to wink my butt. Though i have decent ankle mobility and not tight hamstrings. Please enlighten me. Thanks
There is excessive butt wink and it will abthefucksolutely screw your lower back up... ask me
Good advice
Those shoes are so fresh
It's not a mistake, it's just a way of life
In an earlier video, the rotation of the femurs (I think) was said to dictate how u should squat. Well, at least as far as stance and whether or not to turn the feet out or keep them parallel. So my question is: if body type determines a narrow stance, should we still do the wide one until greater ankle mobility is reached?
Another RUclipsr suggest a full squat🤣😂🤣😂
Don't trust someone who squats in sneakers
???
Why you don't have playlist tho? We need them
Wider stance with toes pointed out allows you to go below parallel and keeps you from leaning forward , those shoes are useless
This is what I have been doing. Winking my butt
Facts 💪🏾
THANK YOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU
so thats why my back hurts
Same
Are saying that my anckle should lean more foward closer to the toe to prevent injury?
Does having flat foot affect something?
i have butt wink. My solution is currently not squatting past parallel. Widening stance doesn’t do it for me. I don’t have ankle mobility issues. Will placing heels on plates still help if I don’t have mobility issues? Does wearing a lifting belt help?
What if I want to work the lower range of motion, should I just stick to pistol squats so I don’t hurt my lower back?
lol your butt wink is coming from the fact your legs aren’t flared enough, however a wide stance butt wink comes from releasing the back arch which should just be straight back
also don't use that kind of shoe, the ones with air, 2in of foam and almost a car suspension ruin your foot placement. your toes are up, your ankles are unstable so you won't do squats right even if you follow all the tips
Sitting in my car after pulling my back doing squats for this exact reason. Send help.
Does wearing a belt prevent this ?
Dude before you try to teach people you need to teach yourself. If your going to do squats try to do squats with no shoes you’ll be able to lift heavier with better form.
Embrace the suck… and watch yourself grow
its a hamstring thing !!
My ankles can’t do that shit

Have a question, when squating does ur knee supposed to be parallel to each other or is it more of a v shape?
so long as you’re not letting them cave in on the way up you’re good. typically it would be impossible as well as dangerous to squat with your knees parallel to each other. a good cue is to thinking about aligning your knees with the direction your toes are pointed at if they’re pointed outwards. if you’re squatting with your feet parallel then thinking about engaging the side of your glutes will help
Parallel squat is a half squat.
vericose vein on your leg 🤯
... Common squat mistake, is not wearing Belt ...
This is a great video. But you did miss the opportunity to call it. “ How to reduce your butt wink“
Change your shoes tho
Thank you. I will just use Dua's butt for this 🤯
And bio mechanics Celtic hip syndrome can be a factor also.
If you keep your butt over your heels you get a better workout in my experience
Hey are u that buff Jeweller
train it with squad toilet, never sit on toilet 🤣
Butt wink sounds 🌈🥭🍍🍌🍋🍊🍉🍈🍇🤦♂️
And I thought the butt wink was a good…. Glad I never mastered it.
Buddy isn't even squatting correctly
wait aren’t u the diamond guy?
Nope, the diamond guy is William Li lmao
my knees goes over toes is it bad or its fine
Look up knees over toes guy and you'll be amazed at how much putting your knees over your toes helps you.
New research says that “knees over toes” is an absolutely garbage theory. Check out Ben Patrick’s Knees Over Toes Program
absolutely fine and overall more optimal. you’d want your tibia to be parallel with your torso at the bottom position. so if you think about it, not allowing your knees to drift over your toes would prevent hitting depth as well creating the buttwink problem stated in the video
@@codyharris8736 I'm confused by what you say, are you saying that you shouldn't be going knees over toes or that knees over toe guy isnt someone to watch?
@@seth9466 sorry for the confusion, definitely do check out the knees over toes program. It has been really great for a lot people.
3 reason is stupid, obviously deep squat will make it more likely to happen but you should strength your weak points not just not do it.
Why on earth did you describe it in the most disgusting terms possible?
Asian
We don't do that here
And those garbage shoes.
bs i done this for years
You're assuming every people bone structure is _exactly_ the same than yours. A bit naive TBH
😂😂😂😂😂
Not accurate. Your femurs are rotating your pelvis from having a too narrow of a stance. It varies from person to person based upon hip anatomy
Wrong wrong wrong!!!!!!!!
And maby take off this stupid shoes pr invest for boots in heels for squads😉
Butt wink? Really?
What a terrible name. Please use something more mature.
Tom platz is the only info you need , go watch him squat .
Another common mistake is wearing thick heeled shoes while squatting.
And credit squat university fot teaching you all that 😂🤌
Common squat mistake is thinking butt wink is bad and choosing to consciously cut your range of motion short because some fool on youtube thought it would be better for you to do a half squat to parallel when you could have done a full ass to grass squat and got all of the benefits from the full range of motion like increased mobility for just one of the many examples.
