This is incredible. The best rendition of this tune I've ever heard. Nothing else comes even close to caputuring it's essense in the way you have here. Thank you.
This is unbelievably amazing. I have been listening to it over and over for a few days and I cannot express how much it moves me. It commands my full attention and inspires me in ways I cannot describe. Thank you so much for arranging this piece. It is perhaps my favourite track from the FF8 OST and you have done it justice here.
The rhythm in the right hand at 1:50 I'm pretty sure when Uematsu wrote that he couldn't get enough of it, so he built all of Freya's / Burmecia's themes in the next game around it. Rightly so
I'm musically illeterate, but what is that rhythm called? Is it some kind of technique being used? Cuz that rythm is catchy. Is there some background in the choice of pitch?
I think this player has actually simplified the right hand portion of the original song at that part. If you check out an arrangement that sticks closer to the original (like ruclips.net/video/oH33Y468Vew/видео.html) you'll see that it's actually a kind of irregular pattern. The original seems more complex. But what's really nice about this player's simplification where they just alternate between one note and a two note chord (sometimes I saw a three note chord), is that they still capture how the original song sounds. It's probably easier to play this way which is probably what lets this player play it so quickly and get fancy adding their own flair to spice it up. Sorry if I'm bad at explaining. Just a fan here, and I enjoy listening to piano music but don't play it.
cool interpretation. I struggled a little with how far it strays from the original, both in terms of rhythm and chord composition, but ultimately I think those choices serve the cover. obviously you're incredibly talented and have a real love for the song. thanks for posting.
I've had this version of this song stuck in my head for days during lockdown. I feel stranded, but also yearning and hopeful. This is a wonderful adaptation. The crescendo at 2:30 elevates it and has it wrapped around my heart right now.
I just want to say how much I enjoy watching you play :-) That is all. Great to see you posting more videos! This was an excellent rendition - FF8 was not my favorite game in the series, but it doesn't matter because this is still a great cover. I would love to see what you would do with "Find your way".

Still watching this in awe. The dynamic changes, the speed changes, the emotional changes; simply hypnotic.

Probably one of the emotionally strongest OST from any Final Fantasy

It's amazing. I never thought it's possible to play this song on piano in a way it sounded in game. But you made a great arrangement. Thank you!

@@jas.digitalnative Yes the Burmecia tune really captures the sense of destruction and loss that befell that city.
