I'm so used to seeing Vegas as a Casino/Hotel city that it's weird to see it look like any other city as you get further away from the strip. I'd love to go there someday.
As a 20 year resident, I can confirm that's what the majority of tourists think when they come here. 80% of the world doesn't even realize that nearly 700,000 people live here.

I would recommend at least Caesars Palace or MGM. I truly appreciate this video. I went to Vegas back in May and I miss it so much. We stayed in the Luxor towers, and our first night, we went to that denny's for dinner since no where else (we knew of) was open at the time. I can't wait to catch another flight and go back to Vegas.
I am from San Diego and I personally love the desert and the drive to there is the best. One main issue is when we go to LV during the weekend there's heavy traffic.
I visited in 2018 and totally didn't expect this amount of traffic. Ignorance on my part for sure! Tip for new visitors, got to the top level of any of the parking decks at night. Incredibly beautiful and you're above the hustle and bustle. It's so easy to get lost in the lights. It's certainly a must-see city!!
So far, this has been the only city i had visited that shocked my eyes so much that i forgot to take pictures... i was like wow, and the i was like, dude, take the camera LOL The best weekend ever... What a great place to have fun...

I want to go back. I was just passing through my first time there. Unfortunately, Las Vegas has attracted a rather unruly crowd. For some reason prices are now more expensive to fly into McCarran.
I can't wait to move to Vegas before the year is over, these sunset/midnight drives are definitely gonna be something I do often! It's too beautiful not to. Also, if you're able, could you consider doing a drive through Henderson?

My personal favorite drive is down Paradise Rd, the backyards of some casinos, windows down and the smell of recycled water in those absurd golf courses...you can hear the faint murmurs of the international crowds not too far from you,105 degrees, mid July, pure bliss.

WIsh you drove up in the mountain areas, red rock forest i think, was the place I drove all the time during my vacation there. I had a BMW M4 rental and it was just amazing, Las Vegas is truly a beautiful place

In the residential areas there are plenty of roads that back way up in traffic (Rainbow BLVD, for example) and the lights only stay green for less than a minute. After 20 years you just get used to it. I'm still standing my ground on the turn arrows though, they are WAY too goddamn short.
I like that desert heat at night in LV. The streets are smooth; hardly any bumps, potholes. The manholes are even with the pavement. Wouldn't mind living there.
