I was 14, in 1979, when I bought this album. I lived in Ireland at the time, in a very desolate, but beautiful part of the country. There was a forest beside me and I would play this album on my Sony Walkman, (which was a brand new invention at the time), while walking through it.
that sounds very nice, Me= western foothills western ny. with slate staked fences, probably stacked by confederate captive soldiers in the war, bushes and trees sprung up along the hedgerows and farmers probably grew small fields of grains/hay in between the slate fences, the whitetail deer running through the woods i swear their tails are a whole 12" bobbing white flag when being alerted to flee.
While in the Marine corps from 1985 until 1992 i often times had trouble sleeping. This album would always put me right into a deep sleep. It was God sent.

I originally purchased Opera Sauvage in Sept, 1979 as an import record. It still resonates for me, 44 years later. Vangelis is corporially seperate from us, but we will never be separated from his music!

I love this album. Had it for decades, and it inspired me to make my own music. Not sure whether the additional music is really is Vangelis or not (as I've never heard it before) but it's very nice whether it is or not.
All the music after 42:40 is by other artists, not Vangelis. Probably Yanni & Kitaro, etc. Maestro Vangelis was a true composer, and his music will live forever!
