American who likes language quirks here. The reason Brits say petrol instead of gas is because it's a shortening of petroleum which is Latin for rock oil. Americans call it gas (short for gasoline) as we have essentially turned what was at one point a specific formula of petrol into our generic term for the substance as that was the formula that was adopted widely in the U.S.

Gasoline was a brand name. Cazeline Oil was a huge petrol company in the UK in the late 19th early 20th century. Someone came to the US and made a knockoff called Gazeline Oil. They were sued so they changed the name to Gasoline Oil.
They use Petroleum in other countries, therefore petrol

Canadian here, and we use gas here too, so we're just as stupid as the states, but petrol actually makes a hell of a lot more sense. Petrol, short for petrolium, is the actual term what gas is made of. Where as gasoline is a nonsense word made up by a marketing team. So their term is educated, where our term is basically us being manipulated.

In today's episode... Ok, you know what? Forget it! I'm done with making my own Couch Cast intros! I first started off with Memes that Scare your Pants Off, and then my intro comment on Memes That Turn You Skibidi Toilet aged well, and someone said that they should pin this, but they never did pin this comment! And my intro comment on 'These A.I. Prompts can NOT BE LEGAL...' was received well, and there is my intro comment on 'Memes that send you BACK IN TIME!', and then there's also my intro comment on 'Memes That Turn The Snow Yellow/Put You On The Naughty List' in which aged well, and then there's this intro comment on 'Ranking Every Christmas Food Ever', and then there's this intro comment on 'Ranking the MOST FAMOUS Christmas Movies ever', and then there's my intro comment on 'Best Memes and Moments of 2023', and then there's my intro comment with 'The BEST and WORST Memes of 2023', and now my last intro comment was on 'Memes that Make you EAT MULCH', in which didn't age very well. I am not making Couch Cast intro comments anymore because everyone thinks I'm using ChatGPT, even though I don't have it, because I came up with these intros myself in my brain, but not with ChatGPT, and someone called me a comment bot after I made this intro comment on the best and worst memes of 2023, even though I am not that guy (trust me, I'm not that guy) and someone commented 'r/youngpeopleyoutube' in my intro on memes that make you eat mulch, because I am too young to understand what is going on. I replied to that person, saying I am waiting for their answer, but they never answered me because some questions are better left unanswered. Is this some kind of sick joke or something? I am never making intro comments in Couch Cast videos again! I'm not saying I'm not a bad commenter, I'm just saying that my recent intro is awful, and someone commented 'R/youngpeopleyoutube' because I was too young to understand what was going on, even though I'm an adult, and no one in the right mind will ever like my intros. It was the best that I could do. I guess I'm no better at being a great person for coming up with intros for Couch Cast videos in the comment section than I was at being little ol' me. I hope you weren't too rough on me if you're seeing this. Somebody had to tell 'em. In the long run, it's much kinder to remember that it's better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to open my mouth and remove all doubt. Takes one to know one. I got so close, no matter how far, couldn't be much more from the heart, forever trusting who we are, and nothing else matters. Do you know how hard it is to be conscious but unfeeling? What cruel punishment have I given myself? What did I do to deserve this? I am going through it more than anyone right now. It's just so sad. If you don't wanna read my comment, that's fine. Most people don't have to. The brutal reality of commenting is that some people won't accept your comment, but hey, it's just their opinion, and that's just a theory. A game theory, or a film theory, or a style theory, or a food theory, or whatever theory it is. Don't be daunted by the lack of years, by us now being here brought us renewed cheers, despite the pain and sorrow, which will not last, as memories no matter how long will stay fast. How do you even come up with a great comment? No longer shall I ever comment again on this channel. I've lost my ability to make good intros for Couch Cast videos. I need to go. I hope you enjoy this episode of the Couch Cast, as this will be my very last intro.
