Really nice to see a tiny house revolving around a beautiful book collection, which is something really unusual for the tiny house movement. You have a truly nice house. Best for you, Andy and Daphne
Most tiny houses I have seen don't have room for three books. I love seeing your home built around a substantial library. It's beautiful, Matthew! Way to go.
Thank you, Steven! When we began designing the house we started with the bookshelves and made everything work around them. I still love how everything turned out.
I always thought tiny living and a passion for books could never work together, this proved me wrong... wow, this looks like my dream house! I'd need some kind of desk surface, though...
I love the idea that you read books again and again and keep going back to them, imagining that every time you read them you are reading them for the first time, seeing things that hadn't appeared before, it is a great idea, and very metaphysical, ie. that reality, art, and literature is not the objective paper and words but instead the it is you and the ever fluid infinite plurality of truths that pass through you which you somehow try to capture by reading the same book again and again. This is how I imagine you in your tiny house.
Such an amazing use of space, especially with your wonderful books! I only have about half of the amount of books you have but your library feels very uniform and integrates so nicely to your home. Thanks for the tour!
I think it would be easier to give the tour while your looking through the camera so you can see what your pointing at. So we can see better :) I was excited to discover a tiny house with a library! Might you consider doing a walk though with the different view so we can see it all?
Your house is delightful! I love how many aspects are made by your friend! It really just makes every piece feel personalised and have a story! Also, the cats are adorable!
WOW! Good things do come in small packages. I just discovered your channel & loved seeing your library & home (not to mention your beautiful cats.) Thanks so much for sharing.
What a magical home, thank you for sharing. I love all the different types of wood and woodwork and the amazing natural light that you get in each space. It looks like a very happy residences to be in everyday!
Your home is lovely Matthew, those high ceilings downstairs make it feel so spacious and there are so many ingenious and beautifully created little touches. I love that it is so minimalist apart from the books 😉. The key to this kind of home to me is that there is space around it, this amount of space in an apartment block feels tiny, when you have land all around, not so much. My husband and I once spent eight months living in a fifty foot truck camper but it didn’t feel cramped as long as you could just open the door and walk outside. Thank you for sharing.
A 50 ft camper truck sounds really cool! Yes, the high ceiling and windows make a big difference, and the reason I haven't put up blinds is to keep the inside feeling more spacious. I'm also lucky that my house is visible to any neighbors. And thank you!
This is GORGEOUS! Oh I would love to live there! And to have your shelves and library. With my family size it would never work! But maybe one day I can own something like this!.... although when the kids come to visit with the grand-kids.... hahaha Anyways I really enjoyed this! It is perfect!
Your house is absolutely GORGEOUS! All the different woods are exquisite! And the library is amazingly beautiful in such a tiny space. Your builder is a genius and props to him for creating such a cozy, homey, yet elegant home. I can see myself reading all day during a rainy day and watching the rain come down because of all those beautiful windows. I can only image the peace and quiet you must experience living there. In a world full of chaos, you have a slice of paradise. Enjoy it for many years! Magnificent!
This is a very beautifully designed space. The wood choices and the earth tone wall colors complement each other. My special wonder is how this space is uplifting and self affirming due to the quality of the design and wood choices. Folks do live in small spaces like trailers on wheels but the interiors with plastics have a debilitating effect on the occupant. I would really like to know who chose the wall colors. I thought the blue water tones with white in the bath room offset the balance. This has a psychological tine upon entering the bath room. Your tiny house is a good example of how environment is enriching. Your tour was a good lesson for me.
Thank you! My friend Ben designed and built the house and we worked together picking out the types of wood. I chose the wall colors and I'm still very pleased with how the colors work with the space. The high ceilings also make a big difference in how the space feels. Thank you for the thoughtful comment!
Beautiful home! I can imagine just reading up in the loft, listening to the rain tapping on the skylight. Blissful! I'm not sure where you live, but how do you heat the home in the winter? Is the insulation strong enough to keep you warm in the loft with that window right above you? Just curious. I'm in Colorado and we're already supposed to get snow on Thursday.
I actually can’t believe how compact it all is! I feel claustrophobic just watching. 😬 It is beautiful, though. I’ve never heard of a washer/dryer combo like that. The loft is super cool.
What a lovely house you have 😍 I love all the different woods used and the craftsmanship involved. Lots of clever design choices. I really enjoy watching tiny house tours even though I don't think I could ever limit myself to so little space. (It doesn't help that this seems to also be a whole lot more difficult in Germany in terms of laws.) Do you have a large outside area? Also: your cats are beautiful!
Thank you you! The builder is a wood worker and I work at a lumberyard so we were both interested in using lots of wood species. My house is situated in on someone else's primary residence which has quite a bit of land. Thank you, Andy and Daphne are both wonderful little cats:)
Thanks for sharing this! This was very lovely and interesting. Have you lived in a much bigger flat or house before? If you did, how have you dealt with the change?
Thank you! Actually I didn't have much of a transitional shock moving in, other than my books I've never had an abundance of possessions. I had a few things I parted ways with, but nothing significant.
Wow! Yours is one of the most beautiful and unique tiny houses I’ve seen. I loved the library! I’d love to see the outdoors. Is it moveable? Do you rent or own the land? Why did you decided to live in a tiny house? For how long have you been living there? Sorry jeje I just have so many questions.
Thank you! The builder is crazy talented! I live on the builder's property (he's also my best friend), it's a nice 2 acre field. Yes, it's fully mobile but we built it for a stationary location. Living in a tiny house made sense to me for many reasons, financially it was doable, I had a friend who could build it, other than books I don't have many possessions... I've been here for over a year now, it's me and my two cats and we are all very happy! I'm happy to answer any other questions you may have, so just let me know. I see you have your own book channel, so I'll have to check it out after work. Best regards, Matthew.
This is absolutely beautiful. I love tiny houses and I love books. How cool it is to combine the two! One question: how many square feet is your house? If you don’t mind telling. Thanks for the video.
Does the skylight above the entry have a unique affect when you enter or is it just “generally nice to have a skylight anywhere in the house? If you get what I mean
Mayberry Bookclub - That’s absolutely true of all houses, just as it is with books. People need to find the homes in which they’re best able to be themselves and are most comfortable. Your house seems very much to suit you. I imagine there were people who looked at our house when it was on the market, saw the gigantic room downstairs and thought they wouldn’t know what to do with such a space - whereas I saw it and thought: LIBRARY... Thanks again for the very cool tour.
Really nice to see a tiny house revolving around a beautiful book collection, which is something really unusual for the tiny house movement. You have a truly nice house. Best for you, Andy and Daphne

I'm so in love right now... This is like paradise. A tiny house for a book lover...

Still wondering why someone like you don't have lots of subscribers !!
People like you need to be appreciated in life.
Love the Library, and love the Ardbeg that I spy in your kitchen!
Beautiful. Thanks for showing us.
Thank you!

Hello, you have a very nice tiny house. I like it. Good idea. :)
Thank you!
Beautiful place

Thank you! The house is incredibly energy efficient, we used Rock wool insulation and it does a great job keeping the house warm in the winter.
I actually can’t believe how compact it all is! I feel claustrophobic just watching. 😬 It is beautiful, though. I’ve never heard of a washer/dryer combo like that. The loft is super cool.

Mayberry Bookclub I haven’t uploaded for a long time, but you’re welcome to visit it. Your book collection is insanely beautiful as well.
This is a truly unique layout. What are the dimensions? And cost?
This is absolutely beautiful. I love tiny houses and I love books. How cool it is to combine the two! One question: how many square feet is your house? If you don’t mind telling. Thanks for the video.
Thank you! The tiny house is about 210 sq ft, the loft space adds about another 50 sq ft.
Does the skylight above the entry have a unique affect when you enter or is it just “generally nice to have a skylight anywhere in the house? If you get what I mean
It's nice, always a pleasant way to get home!
One more thing: how tall are you?
I'm 6'2.
That’s my height! No way I could even move around in there.
@@OldBluesChapterandVerse well it's not for everyone.
