I read about the Don Cossacks in Mikhail Sholokhov's novel 'Quiet Flows the Don'. I was surprised to learn that they didn't consider themselves Russian but Cossackian-well who knows someday they will have what they fought for.
My father was Don, my mom lived in Zhitomyr, bombs are falling on her homeland, they lived together for 56 years after they left Europe, greetings to all cossacks from Chicago.......god help Ukraine!
