Aaron Taylor Johnson's character was one of those rare occasions where I didn't care what kind of cruel punishment he got, had absolutely no sympathy for him and Aaron Taylor Johnson did such a great job capturing that.
Joseph Dutra Hans Landa, Zed, that guy from Hostel, Tilda Swinton’s character from Snowpiercer, and of course, the guy who killed John Wick’s puppy. Lots of characters out there who got what they’re coming to them.
Tom Ford is a tour de force. His acumen for making films is exemplary. Amy Adams IS an artist...a brilliant one. Michael Shannon is astounding. Aaron Taylor Johnson is outstanding. 'Nocturnal Animals' is pure genius. It's also underrated.
Aaron is such a mature and humble guy and take risks by playing a variety of roles. The role in this film was quite dark so it was so dramatic but done well.
I’m post first watch, about to watch it for a second time. I think this is going to be in my head and heart for a while too! You know a movie has a strong impact when you almost feel disoriented when it is over. I literally sat stunned for a moment, then went into my daughters room and kept telling her how important she is to me. So powerful. Side note: I can only say this about a few movies. I saw Evita on screen in 1996 when I was about 20, and I left the theater crying and - I know it sounds dumb- but I was driving home with my best friend & I kept saying “I can’t believe she’s dead..” over and over. Really well made movie have that magical power.
Insightful film experience. I grew up Ford's way. Family members who just let you 'be.' No legacy of expectations, demands, or others' shaping you. It's a rare gift. If you were given that, cherish it every day.
Michael Shannon was my favorite role, he was so rugged, pious, tough and handsome with a darling southern accent. This is another extraordinary work of his.
He's so much more then that. He's Edwards subconcious, he belives in Edward, pushes him to seek justice, isnt afraid to do what ever it takes, break rules and spits on Ray saying "I like it here, its more relaxing" 😅😅
Tom Ford is such a classy man i am in awe of him....and the depth of this movie even as sleek as it is has really made me think how we do need to treasure those we love
I just went to the cinema last night and honestly this film was an amazing experience, I will watch it again, but the emotions of the first time are irreplaceable!
brilliant movie, just brilliant - everything is perfect and serves its role- from script, visuals, actors, directing to ideas, symbolism, message. it is so raw, intensive, intelligent and thought-provoking, I am absolutely thrilled!
If you don't want to hear any spoilers, do not watch this interview. This interviewer went way too far in talking about major plot points. Even the actors asked him to stop revealing the twists.
Four of the greatest artists of this era on stage. My mind would explode. I love Tom’s world weary, American/Euro accent. Amy Adams is incredible in this movie. I don’t think anyone would have had the same touch she gave, but she did remind me at times of Debra Messing, who is a highly underrated dramatic actress.
Greetings from Netflix US. Ford's cautionary tale puts a laser beam on the need to pay attention to one's inner self. And the consequences of being impatient, regretful, and reflective when it's just too late. Terrific thriller about the human condition, ty!
I just watched this movie and adored it... I want to watch it again the next day or two to pick up on some more things, cause this was a great thought-provoker and haven't seen a movie like this in a long time.
my sister invited me to see a movie with her ,and i said great when i saw amy adams. after about 30 min of watching nocturnal animals i asked her ' when are the aliens coming?' :)))
While Tom's said he dislikes flip flops and sandals in any occasion, what he does like is when people are comfortable and confident in their clothing, no matter how badly fitting it is, so I think you might be projecting
I didnt knew Tom Ford makes films too.. as I read his name on the screen I was really interested and like, that couldnt be soo good.. but the title of the film was so fascinating.. and till the end I was shocked... how really really good this piece of art was.. I still love it and will always love this film because at the end it was the story of a violent broken heart..
Every character in a novel is a part, subconscious or not, of the writer's personality. Someone famous said this and I forget who, but I totally agree.
if this movie is deeply personal to Tom Ford, you can see that maybe TF could be Susan...that he has that sleek and polished life. but i hope susan isn't him...i remember hearing about how he fell for his husband. But this movie goes so deep because it makes you evaluate your life and what is really important. Susan did turn into her mother....and it's very sad how she treated Edward.
"I was really just devastated on set. I mean, not every day, but most. Jennifer (Lawrence) doesn’t take any of it on. She’s Teflon. And I am not Teflon. But I also don’t like to see other people treated badly. It’s not OK with me. Life to me is more important than movies. It really taught me how to separate work and home. Because I was like, I cannot bring this experience home with me to my daughter" - Amy Adams
She went on to clarify that it wasn't him, per se--playing Sidney just took a serious emotional toll on her, and Russell's intensity--which hadn't been a problem for Amy during "The Fighter"...just added to all that pressure.
I remember her saying that and that’s when I became a huge fan. She is such a brilliant actress and I think the work must affect you or you can’t effect the work. I guess some can, but the greats like Vivien Leigh, Joan Fontaine & Jody Foster have said similar things.
Nocturnal Animals can use immorality on the basis that the immorality can never be used by reality's origin, while the movie is also synonymous with reality's origin.
Joshua Osborne See, I'm not convinced she went through with that. Right after reading the "death" scene, she immediately calls up her daughter...who is played by the actress playing the daughter in the book.
Hard Boiled Entertainment its not the same actress actually.. and she certainly did have Edwards abortion, that daughter is supposed to be not his but her current husbands'
Agreed. As a curious, reflective writer Edward had an intuitive sensibility. He perceived she was becoming like her mother due to her fear of the unknown. That's why we see him @hospital after the abortion. Yes, he got revenge. But through the novel she was forced 2 confront her decisions: A true self that Edward knew she could have realized but she was shallow. And it was too late. Best Psychological Film of the Year!
When Tom Ford joined Gucci in the 90s, it was about to go bankrupt. Tom brought Gucci back from dead and made it a multi-billion dollar brand. They even bought YSL. One of his legendary stories.
Damn,is it just me or was that uncomfortable to watch!..the host seemed rushed/too critic & overly pushing with his questions.I could clearly see their awkward stares..
Interesting that Michael Shannon's character is categorised as one of the good guys without discussion. He's a man with a gift for violence and quite scary, knows how to manipulate and threaten. And a vigilante with a badge who can coerce another to murder. Sure I enjoy the revenge, but maybe that's not good.
Aaron has no hint of his English accent in this role. Reminds me of uncanny way other English actors ape American regional accents. Gary Oldman being the most wondrous of them all IMO. When American actors try for an English accent or Aussie, they fail miserably.
Tom Ford, what a pretencious useless director. This movie sucks. the only thing interesting about it is the "artistic" aura in the production design and Michael Shannon performance. The plot is non existant: a woman reading a book and waiting for a reunion that never happens, whilst the story in the book has little or nothing to do with her relation with her ex husband. The acting direction is pathetic. seems like a mexican telenovela. But look at him: hes a "contemporary culture contributor".
Aaron Taylor Johnson's character was one of those rare occasions where I didn't care what kind of cruel punishment he got, had absolutely no sympathy for him and Aaron Taylor Johnson did such a great job capturing that.
Joseph Dutra so true. Exactly how I felt.
WTF Aaron is English!!! He totally KICKed ASS in that film (had to do it).
2016 seems to be the year of ineffective fathers in film.
Just saw it at the cinema. I was in the front row, and I just wanted to attack the screen. Brutal stuff
I just saw it to night i was sick .
Joseph Dutra Hans Landa, Zed, that guy from Hostel, Tilda Swinton’s character from Snowpiercer, and of course, the guy who killed John Wick’s puppy.

Amy Adams IS an artist...a brilliant one.
Michael Shannon is astounding.
Aaron Taylor Johnson is outstanding.
'Nocturnal Animals' is pure genius. It's also underrated.
Ehh it feels very Hollywood and fake a lot of the time tbh
Arent you forgetting JAKE??
Aaron is such a mature and humble guy and take risks by playing a variety of roles. The role in this film was quite dark so it was so dramatic but done well.
I don't think he is mature or humble at all but it was a truly annoying character he brought to life, well played
Aaron Taylor Johnson needs more praise for this role.
He is still so underrated. He is brilliant.
This film had me not only on the edge of my seat, but in tears, and for days after...so compeling and incredible performances all round
I’m post first watch, about to watch it for a second time. I think this is going to be in my head and heart for a while too! Michael Shannon is awesome.
Tom is so fortunate to have parents that just let him be. He is amazing! I think his son will grow up to be an awesome person, too.
He is such a passionate yet wonderful person, he's probably the most sensitive father
Insightful film experience. I grew up Ford's way. Family members who just let you 'be.' No legacy of expectations, demands, or others' shaping you. It's a rare gift. If you were given that, cherish it every day.
I wish Tom would make more movies. He is a genius.
I completely agree.
Michael Shannon was my favorite role, he was so rugged, pious, tough and handsome with a darling southern accent. This is another extraordinary work of his.
Yes, I think it would have been good without him but he lifted it and made it great.
He's so much more then that. He's Edwards subconcious, he belives in Edward, pushes him to seek justice, isnt afraid to do what ever it takes, break rules and spits on Ray saying "I like it here, its more relaxing" 😅😅
Definitely my favorite movie of this year, so well written and superb cast
Just saw it today. Brilliant film. Best of the year.
El I feel like it's underrated
@@StolenPvP three years later very!
Magnificent movie with magnificent actors. Very raw, emotional violent and will stay with you forever.

Michael Shannon great actor and really handsome....
man this movie is so perfect gotta say i din't know Tom Ford but now i see why i loved this movie's aesthetics it is brilliant
Who's here in 2024? Awesome movie, Netflix Australia.
Seen it few times. Love it every single time. Aaron Taylor is just fantastic. The whole cast is phenomenal ❤
I can't believe that Michael Shannon is only 42 years old and Tom Ford is 55 years old. :O
Vanity it´s called
wow!
brilliant movie, just brilliant - everything is perfect and serves its role- from script, visuals, actors, directing to ideas, symbolism, message. it is so raw, intensive, intelligent and thought-provoking, I am absolutely thrilled!

Karen Stark Yes that was pretty annoying. He was even insisting on asking for details lol.
What an amazing transformation by Aaron Taylor-Johnson, almost mind boggling 🤯
The wife actually hired a cleaning team for the mattress etc after the film was over and he woke up confused by it thinking it was on fire 😂😂😂
Four of the greatest artists of this era on stage. My mind would explode. I love Tom’s world weary, American/Euro accent. Amy Adams is incredible in this movie. Nocturnal Animals is absolutely brilliant movie
Man Aaron Taylor Johnson performance should've gotten some awards.
well, he got the Golden Globe for best supporting actor. Definitely his biggest award to date
@@mcmoon_ I was thinking more along the lines of an academy award but yes.

After viewing this, I will be watching this movie tomorrow! All-star cast & great plot.
That moment when you realize that all these actors have been mayor characters in Comic book movies
Tom Ford, impecable.
my sister invited me to see a movie with her ,and i said great when i saw amy adams. after about 30 min of watching nocturnal animals i asked her ' when are the aliens coming?' :)))
Aaron so different than the character he portrayed. Incredible performance. Chilling. Scary. Low-key terror.
Tom must be cringeing at what the interviewer is wearing.
Tom will rip him apart if he had to make comments on the interviewers dress sense
The interviewer has more issues than his clothing. "A small part for Laura Linney!" how rude?
While Tom's said he dislikes flip flops and sandals in any occasion, what he does like is when people are comfortable and confident in their clothing, no matter how badly fitting it is, so I think you might be projecting
Jake Gyllenhaal, Michael Shannon and Amy Adams are just as underrated.

On the last question Michael Shannon looks at the others like "What are you talking about? The intensity comes from me. I AM my characters."
Yeah, he's great. Did you see Take Shelter? He was fantastic in that. Soooo intense
Amaliach No, haven't seen it yet. But I'll check it out!
JustNoise Great, it's really good
ahahahahahah I thought something like that too
Every character in a novel is a part, subconscious or not, of the writer's personality. Someone famous said this and I forget who, but I totally agree.
i dont think ive ever seen michael shannon smile
He is not a happy person. But he is interesting. :)
In Groundhog Day he’s the one that gets married he’s very young and Bill Murray buys them tickets to some type of monster truck show.
Really really good movie. Says a lot. 4 star movie!!!!!
Tom pls make another film!
0:30 I find highways so interesting. When playing Cities: Skylines your highways can make or break a town's traffic.
excellent movie
"Cynical" is about the LAST word that comes to mind about you, Amy.
BTW, gotta love how she somehow looks so elegant and glamorous even though she's...technically slouching in her seat. Always the princess.
if this movie is deeply personal to Tom Ford, you can see that maybe TF could be Susan...that he has that sleek and polished life. but i hope susan isn't him...i remember hearing about how he fell for his husband. why does the interviewer look like a cyborg
but you are an artist Amy!
Great great movie.
it's kick-ass! haha
he was SO disgusting in this movie. which just proves how GREAT he is as an actor.
Imagine your work being so awesome that you have to fly back and forth between countries all over the world.
Lol I don't think Amy likes working with David O Russell tbh - he was quite horrible to her on the set of American Hustle
Kate Elizabeth what happened? 😱
"I was really just devastated on set. I mean, not every day, but most. Jennifer (Lawrence) doesn’t take any of it on. She’s Teflon. And I am not Teflon. He has a history of being both verbally and physically abusive on set (e.g. Lily Tomlin and George Clooney)
She went on to clarify that it wasn't him, per se--playing Sidney just took a serious emotional toll on her, and Russell's intensity--which hadn't been a problem for Amy during "The Fighter"...just added to all that pressure.

Tom says the word "visceral" about 329 times in this video
yahcub It's an accurate word for it. :p
Nocturnal Animals can use immorality on the basis that the immorality can never be used by reality's origin, while the movie is also synonymous with reality's origin.
Tom Ford sounds like if Bob Belcher was a british stoner surfer.
that is a beautiful suit on tom
Custom made by Tom for Tom in Tom on Tom
Jim Norton with Tim
Jim Norton Yo dog I heard like custom suits. So we made a suit by you, for you, on you, with you...

Joshua Osborne See, I'm not convinced she went through with that. Right after reading the "death" scene, she immediately calls up her daughter...who is played by the actress playing the daughter in the book.

Tom Ford is Brian Griffin.
Holy shit!!! YES
I’ll never un-hear it!!!!!!
Where is Jake ???
Everyone's looking scared except for Tom..😁
My life is already depressed; i think i couldn't handle this movie. I don't want to watch it.
I just saw it, I would not call it depressing, perplexing, riveting, times hard to follow, unpredictable,
What is your life depressed about?
Yes, but I think this movie stays with you after you leave the theater. I wasn't expecting that
cristina i think i myself is depressed one but this movie lightened me. no problem. everyones is depressed
everyone is depressed? No, not everyone is CLINICALLY depressed..
Great movie, great cast.
But why didn't Tom Ford unbutten his suit jacket?
