I purchased the EOD Edition back in 2016. I didn't get my in-game Alpha armband for playing the Alpha, so I contacted support. They told me to stop wasting their time. If you didn't get the Alpha armband, you didn't play in 2017. I asked them when I purchased the game? And they said June 1st, 2016. I responded by saying "So... I did play during the Alpha?" They didn't respond and closed my ticket. My email was blacklisted as I never get responses from BSG support, and my tickets get automatically closed without a single response. I stopped playing in 2020 because I realized this game was one big lie. BSG pulling a Cyberpunk 2077, huh? The downloadable content is not considered DLC 😂🤣💀

The gaming industry has turned to shit. Ubisoft turned off servers for The Crew and licensed the code so moders couldn’t make a mod to play offline. This is just gonna get worse because people who buy a lot of the games won’t make a statement but not buying any new games until they do something about us paying 60+ dollars for a game that’s not ours. I saw an article about a dev or something from Ubisoft management said “ get used to not owning games” and the future of gaming is totally subscription based. The solution is simple. Buy your game on GOG, download the off-line installers, and own the game.... Forever.
These days I simply refuse to buy games that need to be always-on-line, have "call-home" DRM like Denuvo, or are incomplete.
The overwhelming majority of games I bought lately are on GOG, and knowing those games never ever been ripped out of my hands makes me a happy gamer again. And all those other games can be put into a place the sun will never shines as far as I concern. Will I miss out on some games? Sure no doubt, but if that's the price I have to pay for feeling comfortable with my purchases, it's a price I will happily pay.

I've been playing Tarkov since 2019, iirc, and BSG has done scummy things before, such as put the game on big sale soon after they've banned bunch of cheaters.
But this has to be the new low. And not just making the game semi-P2W, because the game has already been that with the EOD, but to actually lie to EOD customers who bought the EOD because they thought that they wouldn't have to spend another dime on this game after that.
And the big problem is that Tarkov doesn't really have any real competition, so players who like this sort of game have nowhere else to go. There have been multiple games that have tried to do similar thing, but one by one they've all died off. And players are stuck with Tarkov and their anti-consumer business practices.

For those who are bad at math, 6 months is 0% compared to the implied infinite time of the original EOD deal. So it might as well not be there. It's insignificant in the grand scheme of things.
