I think it's because she was foreshadowing Electra's death here. In the extra verse, she sings "I know now...we're not meant to be...if I'm not number one then I'd rather be lonely..." These are things that Electra would never admit, because she would never accept being the other woman. As the album progresses, however, we see that Electra begins to mature and realize that she can't have it all, she can't have any guy she wants, etc. In this video, Marina portrays a much more mature version of her that is accepting her demise.

I was in love with this guy, after I told him how I felt we slept together. The next day he told me he was just experimenting and that he wasn’t gay. I was devastated for weeks. This song reminds me of him. A part of me still loves him, even after that.
