As part of 'The Football Show' Paul Robinson discussed If Manchester City are the favourites for the Champions League as well as Erling Haaland and his impact at City following last night's game against RB Leipzig where he scored five for Manchester City.
Haaland has now broken Man City's 94-year record for most goals scored in a season, beating the previous record of Tommy Johnson that has stood since 1929.
The 22-year-old has scored five hat-tricks in all competitions this term, three more than any other player in Europe's big five leagues.

Concentration. Key moments is how you win this competition. Haaland is clearly made for the champions league given his records. City will surely win a few champions league given everything goes as it is
If you get to the quarter final every year you Will win it. I think this is Man City 's year.
Look at Pep's comments about FA Cup Semis. He says we have always played poorly in them. Even when we got to the final, he said, we were poor in the semi and didn't deserve to win. The semi is the week after we play Bayern and the week before we play Arsenal.
lets hope so, please pep don’t overthink it pleeaaaaseeee
Haters sit down and let Haaland break more records with us,whilat you cry of our success
It's pure jealousy and hatred!
A horrible combination.👎🏽👎
Break all the records, all we know that city is just a local champion
Imagine supporting city🤣🤣 bet u been supporting then for about 3 years🤣🤣
@@conorcody3485 😂
@@conorcody3485 why would you think that? I’ve been a city fan for 40 years👍
My concern is the tactics that Pep likes means the defence is not as solid as it could be. It's not the personnel, Stones Diaz, Akanji and Ake are all excellent individuals but the will always give other teams chances. We might get away with it having loads of possession in the PL but it is different in the CL.
Tactics are perfect, Rodri just keeps passing the ball to random people, Ederson can't stay relaxed
Once they meet a team with tricky wingers like byaern, napoli or real, it's gonna be funny.
@@highfiveentertainment298 keeps? He has done it once you fool
@@will_2035 once? twice alone last night bro 😂😂😂 relax watch the game
The only team they will fear is Bayern because styles makes fights /matches right ? They have beaten Real Madrid 3 times out of their last 4. They have dominated Bayern in pre season but that was pre season. The best way to beat city is accepting you won’t have the ball and play kn transition .
My striker,haters gonna hate
And people actually tried comparing the 100m flop Nunez to him
Nunez has scored more world class goals than haaland.
Calling Nunez a flop given his numbers at this point in the season is a clear indication one doesn't understand football.

@@waltercourtts8565 hes a flop mate, thats basic ball knowledge
@@Swan94y zero trophies & missing top 4 this year 😮
What Haaland needs is consistency that's what made Messi the GOAT the fact he was consistent if he plays like this every game no doubt he'll be on the Mount Rushmore of greatest players of all time
Halland is the definition of consistency. The reason he hasnt scored as much in the league lately hasnt to do with him but his teammates hqve been ignoring him and his runs like they did do in the beginning of the season.
Håland has been consistent since he started his career lol
The guy who has been scoring more than a goal per game since Salzburg needs consistency. I hope he finds it soon!
What? I can tell you haven't watched haaland before coming to the premier league. Like others have said, that man is the definition of consistent
@@In_my_own_mind to your point Pep admitted that was his fault he hasn't been using Haaland properly and City have gone so long without a striker they're not used to working with one so it's probably just them adjusting to him being around because he's not going anywhere
City regularly score 150 or so goals in all competitions every season. So far this season, I think they have 110. There are perhaps 19 games left for City and I imagine that they might get more. Real Madrid are not frightening. The last 4 games recently against City show 3 wins for City and the loss being a loss in the last minute or two of the tie when City were 5-3 up.
It's no good scoring 20 goals if you concede 21.
@grim reaper we've had like 6 clean sheets in a row, defence had a rough patch when we had john stones dias and Laporte all injured l, and we still were able to stay in touching distance of frost place, stay in fa cup, and do well in CL. Seriously wtf you on ab
@@rileyrupert5231 But non of the opposition were Bayern or Real or Napoli. As I have said often, it is not the personnel it is the way we play. Yes it is risk/reward and the results in the last two games shows how good we can be. However, my feeling is that the top sides will react to the one or two errors we make most games at the back and punish us. We need at least two goals a game and, as we saw at Palace for example, sometimes we struggle when defences shut up shop.
Shame they won't get past Bayern

He has broken records and is yet to break more records. But he and Pep will be heavily judged if city fail to win the Champions League this season.
*heavily judged by rival fans who would slag him off anyway even if they win it
@@fqq4137 exactly once Pep win it with City they will say it’s the money or he only won 1
@@Mr.93.20 when he arrived apparently his style would never work in england, now it was too easy for him to win the league
@@fqq4137 no, us city fans are tired of pep bottling. He lost us 2 UCL already.

That's great Paul but why didn't you dive in the shootout Vs Portugal
1 goal shy of double hat trick (6x)
💯 🔥 ⚽️ 🏟
Check out his triple hattrick in the U20 world cup though. It is mad to believe it but I think we might see more hattricks and double hattricks from Haaland.
If the team's scoring rate continues for the rest of the season then we will score 94 goals this PL season, which is a little less than normal. So Erling hasn't increased our scoring rate, at least in the PL. But let's see as the team gels whether he can improve our team.
Improving the team isnt just about stats. You are also forgetting that City lost several good players since then. The maths are a bit more complicated than just looking at goal scoring stats with and without Haaland when everything around have also changed.
He doesn’t improve the team he jus takes all the goals before him city shared the goals now they jus give him all he doesn’t make them better if they don’t win the champions league
@@jadonaaron5475 Your argument is a logical fallacy. The difference is that Haaland puts goals that most other players would miss.
Surely a lot of nonsense and hate about Haaland in Man City but that can't change the fact and no one can do nothing about it...he loves man city.
The way Sky Sports put out these videos, it’s as if no other big club have Champions League aspirations!!??
Very true for a club that has never won it to be favourites is ridiculous. Am a big halland fan but this is football hope they get passed Bayern
A week ago the narrative by Sky, TalkSPORT n London media that City was Better without Haaland huh 🤔❕🙄🤣
This guy is a good pundit...
Haaland only increases chances to win the champions league but doesn't guarantee anything. What matters is a team work and performance on the day.
My guy said Phillips😂😂
If they draw them with Madrid Vinicus will knock them out again. The only team that can knock Madrid out in this champions league is Bayern
This expert said a lot of words without saying anything
And his logic about Kevin de bruyne is ridiculous
Remove kdb from City team then see how many matches pep wins for his team and how many hattrick haaland scores

to be honest I think he will find higher calibre games easier as more space will be available but who knows
If Klop dare starts Trent against Vinicius at the RB today, we're doomed for another disastrous loss. Start Gomez at the RB he's more defensive minded and Trent comes in the 60th minute when Vinicius would have lost some energy. Otherwise
Vini cooks them both
@@CristanioPeweyyy Not when Gomez play RB, he'll do a much better job against Vini as a RB than Trent. Vini seeing Trent alone is a defeat of us i sweah😀
wow football pundits who don't talk about united all the time
Messi will regret why he don’t go to city
Mbappe why not Madrid
Chelsea and Liverpool may have thought they would be successful at the beginning of the season, but unlike City they have not been this year. No guarantees and Klopp spend his bag on more forwards and Boehly played FM with no ball knowledge for the summer.
Bayern are the favorite for this champions league, followed by Man City and then Real Madrid. One of these three will win it.
Eulogies? Huh??
Great player. But the 4 tap-ins, after multiple kicks are just ... you know, 🤮. I don't read a lot in the performance of that Leipzig match.
Nunez 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
