    Lex, thank you so much for going over this. I had finally brought my daughters last week when that all happened. It caused a lot of tension in us and I told them to be calm, we would study into it further at home. It was an amazing thing to see my 15 year old bristle and adamantly refuse to be turned away by falsehood. Praise Yah. I feel like it just reinforced that we have to do our own due diligence and not just rely on any other for our knowledge, but trust YHWH to guide us in our searching for His Truth. I am thankful for you, brother.

      The Bible says to trust in Jesus, the Only Door, not Yah friend. You won’t get to Yah without going through Jesus First.

      @@foxecarpentress4964 what part of my comment made you think that I don't recognize that the Messiah is the door thru which we must go thru to get to the Father? Scripture says the Father draws us to the Son.

    Jude teaches that the Archangel Michael had a dispute with the devil over the body of Moses. Is kind of an odd addition the word of God? He was trying to teach something but it's hard to figure out what. (Don't argue with the devil? Don't rebuke the devil? Who knows?) Adding to the scriptures is a no-no - unless you're related to Jesus.
    And FUNCTIONALLY, we have removed the doctrine of Jesus' other brother, James, who taught that we are saved (or justified) by our works. That went away with the Reformation but it's still in the bible. It contradicts salvation by grace through faith but we ignore it or make excuses for it or completely gloss over it by insisting "there is no contradiction".
    The prohibitions against eating meat sacrificed to idols was a big deal in the first century but Paul taught us not to worry about it much. The Apostle John seemed to think it was a pretty big deal (See Revelation) and so did James, the brother of Jesus (see Acts 15).
    And what shall I say regarding women not wearing gold, plaiting their hair or the wearing of apparel? Should a prophetess wear a head covering when she prays or prophesies in the assembly? Should a woman keep silence in the assembly? Should a man have short hair and if so how short is short? How long is long? There are a lot of things that we FUNCTIONALLY trim out of the New Testament because they either contradict other passages in the New Testament or they just don't make sense in our culture.
    I'm not accusing or defending any of this. I'm just stating what everybody knows is going on.

    How do you explain the apocryphal books being in there, but then removed at the behest of the Catholic church? Don't you find it even a little odd that the Bible was then reduced to "66" books? Serious questions.

    • @AJofBabel
      @AJofBabel 5 лет назад +2

      Catholic church added them to the canon in 1546 from what I've learned the removed later in the 1880s

    At one point in the Book of Acts, it says that priests were becoming members of the church. Do you think that these guys after having been baptized stopped being priests? Probably not. This is a big reason why the Jerusalem church hated Paul so much. Paul represented the destruction of an entire industry. The economic damage done to a class of people was devastating. Where would these priests go to get a job? They probably didn't have a lot of other skills. Hebrews dispenses with the Levitical priesthood AND the tithes that go to that now defunct priesthood. They HATED Paul for economic reasons - let alone religious reasons.

    What I find very interesting is that Hebrews teaches that the Sabbath Day is not a 24-hour day but indeed an age. The day that Jesus ascended to the right hand of God, He sat down. Jesus rested on that day and we continue in the age of sabbath rest.
    So, I'm sorry Ken Ham, the bible does use the word "Day" to define an age or period of time. Jesus didn't sit down at the right hand of God for 24-hours and then that's it. He continues in His rest. Let us, therefore, labor to enter into that rest.

      @Luke12vs48 3 года назад

      With all due respect Poppy - It’s not about “keeping the Sabbath on a Saturday”. Biblically “The Sabbath” is only kept on the seventh day (the modern calendar Saturday). There are other sabbaths (set apart/holy days) mentioned in the scriptures as “a sabbath” which are not the same as “The Sabbath Day”. The Sabbath was established by Our Creator in the beginning, Exodus 2:2 Reading The Ten Commands in the Amplified Bible give us a clear understanding - Exodus 20:8-11. May we all have a teachable spirit and grow in understanding as we continue to press on to “the high calling in Messiah”. Shalom

    Hebrews is really easy to understand if you just use some common sense and understand what it was like back then.
    When the book of Hebrews was written there were 3 kinds of jews back then. The gospel was being preached, so a certain amount of jews accepted Jesus as their savior. Just like we do. That was one kind. It's obvious bcuz the gospel is for the jew FIRST and also for the Greek.
    The second kind was the old Orthodox Jews that was still practicing Judaism. A small part of the book was written to them.
    But the other kind of Jew actually wanted it both ways. They wanted grace but they still wanted to do the sacrifice. They thought that Jesus sacrifice was not good enough. The majority of the book was written to them bcuz they were so hard headed and didn't want to give up their tradition.
    The key part is about once you come to the knowledge of the truth (Jesus is the way the truth and the life) (getting saved) there remain no more sacrifice. (their sacrifices are an insult)
    The next time you read the book knowing this it will all make sense.
    False teaching uses a few verses to claim that you can lose your salvation. And this is not the context.

    ...so if Jesus is our present High Priest, then there is a sanctuary in heaven. We need to look at the work of the earthly high priest to understand what Jesus is doing now in the heavenly sanctuary. What comes during and after the day of atonement? Is Jesus work done in the sanctuary?
    Thy way, O God, is in the sanctuary: who is so great a God as our God?

    The speaker don't know what he's talking about, the letters are never called inspired scripture Timothy talks about all scripture given it is referring to the law and the prophets of Moses which the apostles originally taught from, today you have a bunch of Christians claiming to have the same salvation, the only problem is they have completely different books and completely different ideology which in turn actually makes the Christian religion completely removed from the original religion

    Lex i have shared many of your unlearn videos because i believe in most cases the argument i can make in any given circumstance has probably been made for me already by some one with better skills to do so . . and in sharing your videos i sure did learn or rather unlearn a lot of things . . but, and its a big but . .. you have just started another exclusive church instead of just pointing to the scriptures themselves and telling people to pray to the Father for discernment in all things including their personal biblical research . . after all is that not how you came to the truth ?

    • @Luke12vs48
      @Luke12vs48 3 года назад +1

      Shalom Ivan - We too have listened to Lex many times on Unlearn the lies and having just found this channel, look forward to the videos. You mentioned Lex has “just started another exclusive church”. Can you explain further please? So far to us, it appears that ”The Grafted Church” is a group of seekers of biblical truth gathering together for fellowship, pursuing discipleship, and willing to share themselves with other believers on RUclips. (Like us, they may not always get everything right). As it is written, ”Do not forsake the gathering together of the brethren, and even more so as the day approaches”. (We shall be very surprised to find Lex not continuing to point to the scriptures themselves and encouraging prayer for discernment). We look forward to your comments.

    A Hymn to say every word of it only shows he hasn't really even studied the Bible he just a religious person and I say that because any fouls will tell you there's thousands and thousands of variations in the four gospels and the letters some of which are outright forgeries, don't you just love it when we lived just people sit up in the Pulpit claim they're God's people and lie to you the whole time

  • @robertmcgee1771
    @robertmcgee1771 Год назад

    And this guy says God says not to add to or take anything away from his word yet the original book has 72 + 84 books which then were removed by the Protestants namely Martin Luther who made up a new religion off of the Catholic religions back, making the new religion of the day nothing but children of the Catholic Church oh, that's why your Creeds are identical you're following Church fathers who were all supposed to be Catholics, so when you talk about not taking away as word, you are the product of a religion who is guilty of taking away scriptures
