Shane is that singer every band needs. He's brings stability in the band because you can always trust to stay in tune even if the sound system is bad. He never disappoints. He never oversing. He executes songs with precision and with soul.
Simon and Louis must be like a pair of proud parents watching their sons grown up from a bunch of ""boy band" into this 4 piece bona fide singers.... Westlife forever

Not only better looking guys, they sound awesomely a lot better.
I like Westlife, haven't really heard a bad song from them but I like 1D and think they have a little bit more about them. Harry and Zayn have really strong voices, maybe not as pure as Shane and Mark, but still strong nonetheless, Harry's branched out into movies and all five of them sang regularly unlike westlife were Nicki and Kian rarely sung on the singles. Zayn and Harry both hit no.1 UK and USA with their debut albums. That said, they've been massively helped with the rise of social media at pretty much the same time as they were becoming big. But both groups have talent in them and it's not a direct comparison between the two as they have their differences.
After being exposed to other new boybands. It's 2016, but it's still Westlife for me.

This is 2018, still think they are the very best boy band out there...simply cuz they sing real relatable solid songs. They were always true to themselves...role models to the young...it will make my day if they ever decided to return
