I love how the music starts kind of sad and somber, then gets progressively darker and more sinister, reflecting Adachi's gradual descent into insanity and murder.
It seems more of a tired song. Much of Adachi's character is based off "emptiness", in that he felt nothing changed. His life felt stagnant, almost suffocating. Day in and day out studying, then repeating the same boring routine as an adult at work. When Adachi speaks of the Persona ability, he called it "this power", not "my power". He recognized that it wasn't something to call his own, even though he possessed it. Adachi wasn't insane, but wanted to rid the world for a new one to feel that his life had some sort of purpose.

This "bond" somehow finally cheer him out from his depression and down which his though that "goal" is most important in life. But too bad, he's enjoying this "bond" is too short as Yu comes out and screwed his "bond". Might be the reason why he is trying hard to deny anything good abount "bond" yet he keep into it as he refuse to pull the trigger toward Yu (animation) and miss the bullet on purpose (game).

I like how Adachi is not glaring in all of the flashback scenes, but instead has more of a neutral expression. In public, folks usually do not show how they truly feel on their face.
Here's a kate summary though regarding Adachi's story through Golden. As you seen in this vid, Adachi was struggled hard to archieved his dream future, as he kind of nerd and avoid useless moment as he could (you can see how he is pity to flirty dude and avoud to join any students community on video). Inside the game (Golden version) he mentioned that he just make a small mistake yet received heavy punishment as he was transferred to Inaba. As you could see that was very first of his time to feel a family love as Doujima and Nanako like his as he was of they family, until Yu Narukami comes into Inaba. As he was hate Yu as like Yu was taking his "family" (Doujima and Nanako) and seeing Yu has a perfect life without need to hard working as him, cause him to hold the grudges more towards Yu. While Doujima still treat him as family, even bring him a cabbage after a year Adachi was jailed. Here some little spoiler, in Ultimax Arena arc, once Adachi somehow dragged into game, he obey and follow the antagonist of the arc, which is later revealed was trying to help Yu to tributes all of his sins.
Here comes two years late reply. From Golden basically shown Adachi is being focused to his study to achive his dream, and for that he need no friend (or social), even sarcastic smile to a flirting guy (in this video) and avoid to join other social or community like sport club on his university/college study. He then work hard, and felt like he was almosy reach his dream as he got praised by his boss/manager, and eventually he got transfer notice while best worker achievement awarded into young worker. As he was setup to move away (into Inaba), a TV speech mentioned "If you have talent, you'll always have a place. If you dont have it, you are nothing", which of course this is what he believed as he said about it inside game and on P4 Animation. While at Inaba, as he always mind about 'talent' things (this is shown on P4G animation episode which a TV mentioned about talented dog and Adachi watch with irritated face), he then meet Dojima and Nanako, and he finally learn about bond (which he always rejected on his youth) and he start feel happy about it, until Yu Narukami came, which he felt like his family is now taken. As he saw of how wonderful and joy of Yu life without need to being nerd and anti social like his youth, he started jelousy about Yu life, especially Yu with Dojima family. Eventually, he even felt disgusting to Yu as on previous P4G animation episode shown of how Yu being trying hard to close to him, even didnt eat and throw away Yu food (Yu always give Adachi food as the old women not giving Stew Pot anymore to Adachi). That is why you can saw Adachi inner side being so disgusting when Yu trying be friend with him. Also other thing is, this episode is shown one of reason why Adachi feel so empty in his life.
