Just a quality of life tip... when setting your aspect ratio to a custom size, you still don't have to type --ar. You can open the params panel and click the numbers. It's actually input fields there even though they don't look like it.

I was not aware of all the bell and whistles involved in V6. I watched the video a couple of times to grasp all the information provided. . I thought it was very well explained and easy to follow. Hey Nolan, I love your videos - been super helpful in my learning of Midjourney! Question: How can you find a seed# when creating an image on the new website? I've searched the web and can't find an answer!!
Click on an image, then on the top right there will be a little hamburger menu icon (I think that's what it's called) next to the download button. Then click on 'copy' at the top, and then you'll see the seed button. When you click on that, it will be copied to your keyboard. Now you can paste it anywhere.

Thanks for this! I'm not sure how to get this to the Midjourney folks directly, but a quick QoL suggestion for the new website UI: hovering over each panel in a result set could dynamically pop up an overlay zoom of it (so you don't have to prairie dog through each). Should you catch someone's ear.

Definitely has some great new features. I will still probably use discord for now but it's nice to finally organize my images a little and put things into folders easier. Appreciate the videos, they have certainly helped!

Thanks very much for the run through on the Alpha site. It really is a lot nicer to use than Discord. One question...I added an image to a foldeer by mistake, but I can't find a way to remove it. Do you have any idea how to remove images from a folder? Thanks for all that you do! I look for your videos everyday...just to make that I don't miss anything.

Your videos are always helpful, but this one was extra-helpful with regards to folders; specifically smart folders, and being able to find images via the timeline scrubber. I've been using the website for over a week and I love it! I do enjoy spending a bit of time each day liking images and nabbing the ones I like to blend those styles into my own prompts. Super fun! And yes, I rate each day.

No, not from the website. But you can 'hide' images. Click on the download options - I think it's there

Discord for me! Maybe cause I'm used to it, maybe cause Discord transfers to the website - but not the reverse. Also, the framing for my RUclips videos fits better when I use Discord!

Will they have the prefer option set on the website? I use it for consistent characters on Niji 5 and midj 5.2, dont want to use V6 with sref or cref. the style is very different. I hoope they have a great option for that soon, like folders for character design or prefer option sets!!! Suggestion here!!
Yah that's definitely one of the features that keeps me using Discord! I think those extra options are super important

click the + button and add a picture to the little gallery that shows up - then hover over the picture and you should see a 'i' icon and that's how /describe works on the website.
aaand you can't edit a photo that already exists. sorry!

How does it know whether to ignore the bars or if you want to do it manually? It should add the - to it when you change the parameter slider so you can see what it’s act silly going to use: what if I drag style around and then decide I want to leave it default? Everyone knows default is 100 or something, or do they? Or is it? We don’t know.
that would be cool if it updated the values in the prompt. But whatever you place in prompt takes priority over other settings. So writing --s 50 will be used instead of whatever the slider is set to

no. if you need something extra specific, you'll probably notice all the small errors
I found there is a describe function on the alpha website, which I see nobody talking about (btw, the new character reference function is also there, if you click the tiny person icon on a photo you dragged in the Create box).
1. Click on the plus icon to choose a picture you want to upload.
2. Hover over the images that are in there
3. Click the i-icon that appears in the image
4. After a while components of descriptive sentences appear which you can click to create your prompt

Yes exactly! I never noticed but someone else had to point it out to me. Which do you like more? I think I prefer how it works on Discord lol

It's not exactly the same thing, but you can upload a picture using the + button, and then hover over it and click the little 'i' button - it will bring up a bunch of references for you
Hi, Great Video. I was wondering if someone may know why I can't get to the + sign on top just like you show on video. I am logged in and the + sign does not light up so I can write my prompt. I have settings set at V6.. Any ideas? - Thank you in advance !

Hi, does it work properly for you when adjusting custom AR? Whenever I try to move the picture to 'Start' or 'End', it will inaccurately expand in a different direction! Making it impossible for me to expand in certain directions...
edit: I cannot expand only down, or only up, when using custom AR button. IF you try it, you will see the Pan left or Pan right button being selected instead. Extremely frustrating.

Does --sref option work on alfa website as upload image?
Yah! Just make sure you put --sref in the prompt, and then drag an image into the prompt box and you should see the link appear

Help !!! when I drag a picture up to use as a Image reference or a style reference etc. I hover over it bit I dont get the 3 options like the paper clip etc...nothing just the default one is there. tried different browsers like chrome and opera..all same ?? thanks for help in anyway.
I'm really not sure! I just tried it myself and it worked. You should ask for help over on Discord - one of the prompt chat rooms

On the new Midjourney website, I am trying to figure out how to select individual images, ie: non-contiguous images to drag into a folder, etc. I do not see a "select image" option. Also, if I enlarge an image I do not see any way to easily go to the next image one after the other without having to go back to my main image gallery each and every time. When I click on the documentation tab, it only has Midjourney instructions for creating images in Discord. I don't see full instructions for this new website.
I'm also confused if I click to remix or to add variations or to extend the canvas, can these be chosen together as multiple choices, or are they done separately ... and once I've chosen them, nothing seems to happen when I press "enter" ... I don't see any "Apply" button ... this new Midjourney website and interface is NOT intuitive ... it's frustrating and confusing.
to select just one picture at a time - hold the shift key on your keyboard, and then click on the image from your gallery
to see easily see the next image - you can use the scroll wheel on your mouse if you have one, or you can use the arrow keys on your keyboard
all of the options for an upscale are done separately - variations makes new images based off that picture / remix does the same thing but lets you change the prompt / extend the canvas is just like a custom zoom option
- and when you hit enter, I'm pretty sure it just runs the job for you. I agree, it doesn't have very strong feedback at the moment. But they're definitely going to work on that in the future.

@@FutureTechPilot ... I forgot to mention that I am accessing the new Midjourney alpha website using an iPad Pro with 'touch' (Safari or Chrome browsers) ... so I'm not using a mouse. But I am using a bluetooth keyboard and your suggestion to hit 'shift / click' to select non-contiguous images in the gallery works ... I thought 'shift' only selected images that are directly next to one another, but apparently this isn't the case ... so thanks for the tip.
Same situation with scrolling ... I'm not using a mouse so can't easily scroll the thumbnail image bar in the right column, but I fiddled around and the up / down arrows on the keyboard at least allows me to navigate up and down the thumbnails one at a time ... not as smooth or quick as scrolling, but it gets the job done :-)
Regarding options like: Vary, Upscale, Remix, Pan, Change Aspect Ratio, etc. ... if each of these Options can only be done separately, then it's not intuitive for all of these options to be displayed simultaneously in the same open menu. It would make more sense for the user to be able to only select one of these options, then after selecting a specific option, they would be presented with the sub-options that relate to the chosen option, ie: of they choose "Zoom", then they are only presented with "1.5", "2x" and "Change AR". The way the website currently displays each and every option and sub-option as a smorgasbord of choices, it makes it seem as though the user can choose multiple options simultaneously to be applied to a single image edit. And because there's no dedicated "Apply" button ... it isn't clear how to apply the edit selections nor what edit options are being applied ... especially because unlike Discord, the alpha website doesn't display each image request being individually created, it only shows a tiny number symbol in the left column, requiring the user to leave the page and go back to their main gallery page to see what's been created. Discord is far more straight forward in making it clear that only one edit option can be chosen at a time, and also showing each edit render being created in real time with accompanying text indicating exactly what edit has been applied. I hope these things eventually get refined on the new website ... at the moment it seems clumsy and less efficient in a lot of ways compared to Discord.

Useful tips. It will be interesting to see how they incorporate other discord features e.g. describe. Also, it would be good to be able to see which of the images you have created that are most liked by the community

Hi Nolan, I have 2400 images generated and followed what you said, but I am in stealth mode always. It does tell me to access the alpha website and I authorize it but I don’t see any of the bars on the top the way the website looks on your RUclips channel. Is it because I’m on a mobile device and it only works on a desktop?
I've never looked at it on Mobile, but that could definitely be the reason it looks different!

I'm pretty sure you can't actually delete your images on the website lol they don't want people mass deleting pictures ... I know it's kinda weird but that's their philosophy

I think you can. You can click on a picture and drag it into the prompt box - and you'll see a spot to put it as an image prompt, and place to put it for a style reference.
Infinity zoom is nice but what about Infinity close -up

click on a photo, then in the top right there will be like a 'hamburger' icon - click on that - click copy - click seed - and then 'paste' the seed number wherever you want

FTP, How do you delete images from MJ Alpha?
You can't right now, but they've at least hinted at it being possible in the future. You can hide images though - select the images you don't want as if you were going to download them, and then click on 'more' and you should see the option to 'hide'
I noticed on discord that I can download as a png but on the alpha website they download as webp and not png, which in my opinion is a lesser image quality.
I can't believe I forgot to talk about downloading lol I'll make an updated video eventually. But as for your question, my images get downloaded as PNGs. Do they appear as WEBP when you download in bulk?
@FutureTechPilot I don't download in bulk but mine are not downloading as png only in discord and for that reason I'm sticking with discord.

Rerun on the Upscaled image causes prompt rerun for v 6, but not Upscale rerun :(

Has Midjourney deleted the consistent style --sref in their alpha website, I can´t find it.
I think if you click and hold on a picture, then drag it into the prompt box at the top, you'll see an option to place it as an image prompt, or as a style reference.

I canceled my subscription shortly after the 6.0 update.. It was just no way near as good as 5.2..
You can always keep using version 5.2. Version 6 is actually in beta, so they will keep improving it. ;)
