I have a friend who was there the night of Idina's fall... It was happening behind the scrim during the "melting scene" and all of a sudden you saw a shadow go WHAP!!! An annoucement was made asking if there was a doctor in the house. The show was stopped for about 45 minutes with the crew getting Idina onto a gourni and straight to the hospital. Meanwhile, Shoshana was backstage getting Greenified fast to just do the final 3 minutes of the show. They did the finale with Joey Mcintyre (New Kids on the Block) who was Fiyero at the time making a speech at the curtain call saying Idina was going to be ok. Shoshana did the next day (which was supposed to be Idina's last) with Idina making a surprise appearence doing the finale....Not on Green or costume but a red tracksuit.
Angel F. Idina was injured when she was performing the "melting" scene. She is lowed down through the stage floor, but when she stood on the lift it had already decended so she fell through the hole. She broke her some ribs.
