First time I saw them live, two weeks ago (29/06/2022), in Lisboa. One of the best gigs I ever witnessed in my 41 years of existence. And I got the luck and privilege to meet Vlad, Roman and their manager, Allen, and they were the coolest guys, and I also brought my Macro and Wallflower LPs and two posters and Vlad took them so that Eugene and Tatyana could sign them, for they were resting a bit before the gig... Just for reference, the day after this, Gojira came here also and it was amazing, of course, but I was still shook from the night before... Truly mind-blowing artists/musicians. André
Tatiana said this song is about her wishing she was this bad bitch goddess who was perfect and vain and didn't give a fuck because everyone is beneath her, but she's not because she's too shy and introverted and cares too much. It's basically a song about a person she wishes she could be.
It's a song about religious abuse. If I Give Them Holy Food They Will See Me As A Fool When I Spit On The Floor Poor People Think It Is Gold It Is Me Whom They Call An Idol It Is Me Whom They Fear The Most Don't Deny My Absolution Let Me Feed My Ego, Let Me Boast!
I read somewhere that it's referring to social media influencers. But exactly what you said. Great analysis. Definitely checking out more of you're videos and subbed.😃
Yes I agree with you, I think it’s written from the point of a narcissist social media celebrity who doesn’t really have any true worth. That’s probably mixed in from her own female perspective of being a relatively famous woman in music that some people idolise her but I’m sure you know she is actually quite introverted most of the time and finds the phenomenon pretty weird. But either way Tatiana is very clever in her lyrics as they can be interpreted in different tangents but the basic premise is usually clear (after a few reads) . Take care mate👍
Good news for anyone who wants to see Jinjer. They have been given permission by the Ukrainian Ministry of culture to leave Ukraine and start touring again, and they are doing so right now
Yeah, there is definitely a lot of grit in her growls in this song, it's a lot more closer to an arch enemy style vocal performance. Even in songs like sit, stay, rollover where her growls sound gnarlier, their tone is slightly darker there, but here it's hard to put into words, but like you said it's almost like a rallying cry before a charge type of grit.
I feel like Tatiana has more wholeheartedly embraced her growls since marrying Alex Lopez, former drummer of deathcore band Suicide Silence. Before she had frequently expressed having a love-hate relationship with that side of her vocal performances, and that doesn't seem to be an issue for her anymore.
@@jamessewell5636 I don't know how you rate growls, but if we're talking about deeper growls then Tati definitely has a deeper growl than Alissa and Angela, but in this song (well first half at least) if I didn't hear the music and only growls I'd have probably guessed it was Alissa haha. Either way I like both bands a lot.
Yeah this came out during the beginning of the russia Ukraine conflict. They’re from Ukraine. Cancelled all their shows. And starting really pushing people to stand up. Slaughter to prevail from Russia joined them for a stream as an anti war movement between the 2 countries and 2 of their biggest bands Tatiana is a vocal beast hands down
What a great reaction. I hope everyone watches it to the end as your commentary is soooo good.
thanks so much for your emotional reaction and your interpretation of the lyrics of this amazing song
lovely greetings from germany and stay safe

Great analysis of the the lyrics
I highly recommend reacting to this song live from the Los Angeles dvd. 100x better then the studio version. Tatis vocals are unreal in it.
Love jinjer. Good reaction
A positively filthy and brutal groove, with almost demonic self-worship poured on top.
i think you could say she is one of the best of what you could call a dragon slayer

Great video!!!

If I Give Them Holy Food
They Will See Me As A Fool
When I Spit On The Floor
Poor People Think It Is Gold
It Is Me Whom They Call An Idol
It Is Me Whom They Fear The Most
Don't Deny My Absolution
Let Me Feed My Ego, Let Me Boast!

Stronger growler than arch enemy singer. Love jinjer
