Craig is a good guy. His was the first digital interface I saw and it's actually the best I think.
You're not just saying that because his name is Craig, right?
Great show Steve, thanks for having Craig on. The DigiPi is an awesome piece of equipment I love it.
It sure is. I'm going to have a lot of fun with APRS and this thing... I might even have to get another one!
Just want to say this still slaps! Digipi now has support for Pi5! It's like the only cots ham image that works on pi5 for ham stuff lol
Craig is one of the best!
I downloaded the ISO and installed it on a Raspberry Pi 3B and paired DigiPi with my Yaesu FT-710. I have it up and running with no issues and was able to work a number of stations on FT-8.
Thanks!
Excellent!
Wow guys the digipi is so cool. Thanks so inspiring. I am a digital convert now. At 68 I am never toooo old to try these modes. Thanks again.
It's a lot of fun for sure!
Great show! We love the bumper music!!! DigiPi and a cool toy.
Right! Craig is good people!
That was awesome.. I really enjoyed this live. Very cool project, right up my alley !
Glad you liked it. Hope to work you on the air one day.
Such a great app, I downloaded it ages ago and never got around to playing with it. Definitely downloading it again.
It's only getting better!
While your figuring out stuff, get Ham Clock to work on Quadra. They have a Linux set up.
Good idea!
A web-browser VNC x-server? That’s pretty cool. Everything done via browser and no extra apps needed on the controlling smartphone/tablet
Yep! I like it!
Great show Steve! Thanks Craig for the amazing Digipi!
Yah, thanks guys! tons of fun!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Nice video - There is a shortage of Pi W in Australia and if you can find them they are $100 - hopefully they will come down in price soon - I will give this a go and use this video as a guide - thanks TO
Yeah, we have the same shortage here. Try the Rpi Locator link in the description. $100 per pi0 makes me push projects down the list.
@@temporarilyoffline I tried that locator off you link in the description and they were listed as $100 and out of stock - there is one company here in VK la la land not releasing them as stand alone but in kit form
Very cool! Thanks!
Glad you liked it!
Question? Is this dependent on internet access in order for it to work?
Not at all
Will this work direct to the Xiegu x6100 or does the interface need to pair with it?
This will work with an X6100 with the right cable.
hey steve! what do you think of the aioc for the baofeng radios? its an all in one programming chip that has a sound card built in im going to figure out how to use it on the digipi think it would pair up nicely without having to add much to the pi.
I think it's great. I have a few videos on it.
@@temporarilyoffline I was thinking of trying to take two digipi and the aiocs to do some experiments back and forth between two computers for a off grid data link
@@justin6125 let me know how it turns out. Also look up "new packet radio" for another way to play.
Is this for a android phone only?
Nope - this is a web based app, so PC, Mac, Linux, Android, Apple, Tablet, whatever can view a website can live the dream!
Steve, what is that add on board for the Pi Zero with the USB connectors
This thing is great: amzn.to/3Js4XyS I have another project I'm working on for tracking airplanes that needed USB ports.
@@temporarilyoffline thanx muchly
Does USB connected radios include the x6100?
Yes, but this works with all radios with a little legwork.
Hello, Steve on aprsdroid. What value do you enter in the aprs digipath. Thanks in advance.
WIDE1-1
@temporarilyoffline Thanks for the reply. That's what I had. I can receive , but not Xmitt. I guess I need to look elsewhere. Thanks again.
@@OneAdamTwelve12 what radio?
@temporarilyoffline ic705. I had ft3d setup on aprs and worked fine. Followed your instructions from your video.
@@OneAdamTwelve12 I think the 705 is the default radio that KM6LYW uses in digi pi - maybe a fresh install?
Tell me what i need plz and how to get this going on a FT-891?
I pinged Craig with your question. I think you're going to need an sound interface like he's mentioned on his page... probably a digirig amzn.to/3PR7Xbl and cables amzn.to/43jxzR8
@@temporarilyoffline hey guys, yah, you're going to need a "sound card" build for that rig since it doesn't have integrated USB. a signallink or digirig could/should work too (with a small tweak to the digipi software image).
does it do DMR ?
Not on its own.
The Question was wait to to us are not anything in our Country . Our freq ie 144.39...
What's that?
DigiPi with AIOC?
It should work great - if not Craig will be on top of making the small changes needed to get it working!
KM4ACK's Build A Pi-Script does it for $0. Sorry.
Jason is awesome!
Great show, mega informative, currently running Build a Pi but definitely will be giving DigiPi a go pending availability on the market of Pi hardware. Keep up the great work Steve...de 9H5TB
If you've got build a pi running, you can "try before you buy" and remove KM4ACK's SD card and insert KM6LYW's SD card - it will run on the same hardware.
