I worked in a prison like a actual maximum security prison. Im not a physiologist or anything or doctor to be diagnosing people but when dudes say “you really gotta have a strong mindset or it’ll break you” y’all have to take that and run with it because it’s literally true. I’ve seen big ass gang members come in, murders, drug dealers, etc. dude with a actual name and they end up turning gay. Especially if you’re in protective custody I also think that plays a role as well because your confined to 4 walls 23 hours a day, if you’re not mentally strong it’s so easy to fall victim to abandoning your morals if you had any to begin with. I always tell people this. People don’t go to prison with the mindset to be gay it’s literally what prison does to people who don’t have a strong mind and no morals lol.

I'm no expert either but I don't think it's about morals. A lot of these dudes were probably always down low to some degree and doing a long bid in lockup enabled them to shrug their shoulders and go with it. Like there's no way I buy that Lil Jay was 100% heterosexual and jail somehow consumed him to do what he's doing.
